"ugh, where'd i put this thing?" max said scratching the back of her neck. "it's in one of these surely..?"
she sighed before a knock on the door caught her attention. "just a second!" she yelled.
max fixed her tshirt before opening the door to reveal amanda.
"amanda? what are you doing here?" max asked surprised.
"well, i thought we could have a chat? about some things.." she said glancing away.
"ah- yes! i mean sure? uh come in..." max said stepping out the way, earning a laugh from amanda.
a faint shade of pink flushed max's face as she closed the door behind the two. "couch then?" the girl asked.
"yeah, make yourself at home." max smiled. "want a drink or anything?"
"uh im right thanks. thank you though." she said making max hum in response.
"so then, what's up?" max said sitting down next to her.
"right well.. its been about a month since i told you i needed some space about the whole parallel world and well the whole vinh thing.." she started, "and i think ive made up my mind."
max stayed quiet, nervous for the reply. "and.. i think i want to give us a chance." she exhaled with a faint smile, "i like you max. a lot. i like that you love photography, and how your so kind and dorky, you mean so much to me and im tired of pretending you dont."
"wowzers." max mumbled. she didnt expect her saturday evening to go like this... not that she was complaining. quite the opposite.
"hah yeah, i guess that's one way to react." she said tucking a strand of hair back.
"shit- sorry.. didn't mean to say that out loud. i'm just sort of surprised.. i mean wow."
"huh?" she laughed, "surprised about what?"
max smirked "the fact the amanda thomas wants to go out with me maybe?" she said earning a playful wack in the arm.
"harhar. y'know i might just have to get another chalkboard and name it "max's best flirt lines." who knows.. they might help someone else."
"for starters, i'd be honoured to have my own flirt board." max said making the other girl laugh. "and second, they would definitely help. i mean look, your here now aren't you?"
"right right.." she said glancing to max's lips before her eyes."
"but seriously.. you mean a whole lot to me too amanda, its nice to know you feel the same way." max smiled, briefly placing her hand atop of the other girls.
amanda copied max's expression with a smile that lit up the room completely, "im so glad we're talking again.. it was honestly so hard not to whenever you came to the bar- speaking of.. i should probably head out now before reggie breaks something else while im gone." she sighed.
"ha yeah.. i remember helping when that happened." she said standing up with her. "so i'll be hearing from you then?"
"mhm yeah." amanda said slowly making her way to the door. "ill uh, text you.. feel free to come by tomorrow too, yeah? got a local artist playing i think youd like."
"of course." max smiled, "wouldn't miss it for the world."
"great, uh.." amanda said, stepping partially forward, max instantly realised what she was hinting at.
her breath hitched before she slowly leaned in, as did amanda. the two's lips linked for a moment before breaking apart. they stared at one another for a brief second before cracking a smile each. "ill be seeing you then..?"
"mm you definitely will be." amanda winked before walking off "til then!"
max closed the door behind her with a sharp breath. "oh geez. did that really just happen.."
"meoww." miso said from the kitchen.
"right your food! sorry little buddy..."
