“Great.” It was almost embarrassing how quickly the word rushed from him, but hearing Robby say he trusted him made him feel almost delirious. There was honestly, truly, something wrong with Dennis that being trusted by his attending to house sit for him had butterflies swarming in his stomach.
“Any questions?”
Dennis paused. His gut instinct was to ask when Robby’s planning on coming back, but something about the way the other man was holding himself, hands in his pockets and firmly avoiding eye contact, had his mouth moving faster than his brain. “Why don’t you give me the tour? I know you’re headed out tonight, but I figure you’ve gotta stop by home to grab your stuff. You might as well actually show me this place I’m supposed to be looking after for you.”
