Chapter Text
Purple's life wasn't the best, like any other stick figure you'll see.
They've had a bad past already, with their father, Navy Blue, not being the best for their growth with his own domestic abuse towards them and their mother, Orchid. Since birth, Purple felt afraid to show their interests and preferences, instead abiding to Navy's orders. Orchid was their only way of a breather, but when Navy left them and Orchid for good, and Orchid's passing came not so long afterwards, Purple felt like they lost anything that they had grown. They chased after their abuser, and now they got to this point.
They've had several ups and down, especially on the past month after the entire ruckus with their now labeled buddy. Since the entire deal was settled, Purple seriously could not thank the Second Coming enough, and the hug was enough to make them start tearing up. An act that they used to be yelled at for now being so wholeheartedly accepted was the best thing they could have asked for, nothing could change the relief they felt once the people that currently were in their embrace assured they were their friends, and that they'd never think lowly of them. They finally felt loved. Real love.
Well. Purple assumed they'd get at least some sort of rest since it all was over. A little breath here, some exhales after, nothing that much. King Orange however, during a daze after finishing their goodbyes with the stick gang, fell into some sort of trance. His body went somewhat limp, and he walked— no, stumbled through the nether, going in blindly like moth to fire. Purple followed behind, concern evident with their hesitant steps, keeping some sort of distance between them. The man ended up falling into the wrong portal back to the outernet, one they both established as unsafe (tho honestly, Purple was only following orders). Purple, confused at the sight, ran after him and tried getting his attention, but ended up just going in the portal with him.
Purple fell back on the floor with a thud, just after King Orange who crouched down on the floor, and quickly jumped back onto their feet. Purple was beyond amazed by it all despite the little time they were in there, gaze immersed taking everything that they could in, while King Orange himself seemed to be more weary of his surroundings, still, a grand contrast to eachother when they're standing side by side. A bright blue painted the skies with clouds filling spots in everywhere. They seemed to be in a spot high up in the sky. Purple could feel the excitement of getting ready to throw themselves at every single one of them that was on reach, their feet shifting weight from one another. A high pitched shriek came from the younger at being pulled on by their ankle for support. Right, King Orange was still on the floor.
Purple pried his hand away from their ankle and then offered a hand, immediately helping King Orange up once they felt his grip on their stretched hand. King Orange wiped at his eyes, then actually took a moment to look around. A grin came at the younger stick figure's face at seeing the usual stiff posture go softer, King Orange looking up at the sight with wide eyes and a slightly opened mouth which said everything Purple needed to know. They tugged at his hand and ran forwards, dragging him along with him and turning their head at everything they can take in. It was the most sincerely beautiful thing they've seen, and they weren't leaving without a good look around.
"... Kid? I- Sorry about that. I-.. I didn't mean to do that! I don't know what got into me—" King Orange suddenly started rambling while being dragged by Purple, but cut his trap once Purple turned around on their heel and embraced him. A weary sigh came from the other. "... Sorry."
"Hey now, 's fine! Look at where we are, anyways! I find it amazing! No need to say sorry about that." Purple comforted the man, rubbing gentle patterns and circle to his shoulders. Once they feel that he's better, they suddenly take his hand in theirs and picked the pace up all over again. "Now, hurry up the step! I wanna see EVERY CORNER of this place!"
Wings. Purple had wings. Pristine white feathers tickled at their back, making them giggle at times when moving them, a golden sword held in their hands with grace. After they defeated the.. They weren't sure, actually. Player? Threat. After defeating the threat, they were being thrown upwards by the Valkyrie, with King Orange having a proud smile on his face. Purple could see a tear running down his face, and that reminded them of the man he was. Not the man he saw before, with no sign of emotion towards anything whatsoever, the one who cruelly executed everything needed for the Minecraft Game Icon. The man they saw was their true father. Purple turned their head sideways while in the air and gave King Orange a wide smile.
After being put to their feet again, tho quite unceremoniously this time, — which caused a round of apologies — King Orange approached Purple, and for a moment just looked at them. His face said everything they needed to know. Purple bowed their head at King Orange and offered the sword, but was surprised at it being pushed back towards their hands, King Orange's hand above their own making them clasp the sword's handle. A flap of their wings was the answer to that. Monologue wasn't needed amongst them in tiny moments like these, Purple was sure of that.
"Dad?" Purple called out suddenly, already reaching into their pockets. King Orange raised up an eyebrow upon being given some items, but understood the assignment, and tossed the blueish, small sword at the floor, causing a lighting strike and eliciting a string of yelps from the Valkyrie behind them. The two laughed at their own prank, while being scolded half heartedly by every each one of them about it. 'Never do that again!', 'Did you need to summon a lightning strike?!', between others.
"Well, we should get going now." King Orange brought up between his laughter, inhaling (and failing) to ease it out. Purple instead, frowned slightly, instantly stopping their giggling, it was quickly wiped off their face however, as they did know he had a point. The Valkyrie had a similar reaction to Purple, bowing deeply to the both, and shaking their hand with both of theirs, then three of them, the ones who originally broke down the other one, followed to rebuild the portal for them. The pace was slow however, allowing small talk to go on between Purple and the angels. King Orange simply listened to Purple's fake tales about being the ruler of the world down there before, rolling his eyes with fondness.
A final wave and a bow to the feet from the three winged ones was exchanged, the sword of the old Valkyrie Queen being given back before Purple and King Orange entered the portal at last. After a long day, they couldn't be more than excited to be finally back. Obviously, they enjoyed their stay at the Aether a lot, it was great to have that breather after only being able to sweat and fight for a while, but that also didn't mean they didn't get exhausted. Purple yawned, stretching their arms over their head upon hearing the so familiar sound of the Piglin around.
King Orange seemed stunned, just staring at Purple with pure shock and concern in his eyes. Purple raised an eyebrow. "Purple-" King Orange started, but not knowing how to end that sentence, he tripped over his words. After a moment of silence, and Purple confused, arms still lifted up, King Orange finally got it out. "Purple, your.. Your wings. They're still there, they didn't leave after leaving the portal like they normally would have."
"What?!" The words snapped something inside of Purple, and their hands instinctively reached for their back. Sure enough, they felt the soft texture of feathers along their fingertips. They do a little twirl like a dog running behind its own tail, and then attempt to fly. Their movement is free, their wings are spread open, and the excitement was suddenly overwhelming. They crash down onto the floor from their mild flight, barely catching themselves with their feet, and jump up and down for joy in front of King Orange. King Orange just shook his head, clicking his tongue in an attempt to hide the natural smile that found its way to his face upon seeing Purple's excitement.
"You WHAT?!" Green nearly spit out the grape juice he was making for himself in the kitchen upon hearing the words ring from his cellphone, a quick scold from Blue was thrown at him from their Minecraft house to be careful. "Yeah, dude! It's a long story, but I have wings now! Really, I do!" Purple's tired but clearly excited voice came through, and their camera turned on to them standing in front of a mirror in King Orange's basement. "Orange just helped me brush the feathers, but he's currently out cold upstairs."
"Dude, that's sick! They're like, the real deal! You can fly with it, right?" He replied, letting Purple continue while climbing back up to the sticksfight.com tab. He could see The Second Coming taking a nap behind the stairs, curled up into a ball, and he held back from taking a picture. "I can, I can yep! They're really cool!" Purple got back to their mattress, which seemed to be covered with whatever pieces of cloth there were. "I was actually wondering what you guys were doing?" Purple prompted after propping their phone up on the wall, resting their head on the pillow.
"Nothing that important or life changing as yours actually. Yellow was working on making a Minecart Roller-Coaster for us with the command block staff to fight for first place, w r3make of an old idea she had. No one won, but hey! I came close, so I personally think I should have came on top." Green gestured wildly with his free hand while going up the stairs, very carefully as in to not wake up The Second Coming. He's afraid of what would happen if he did, and he doesn't want to get absolutely out rocked by someone who just woke up again.
Purple hummed, before throwing a tease at Green, a mischievous grin plastered on their face. It was covered by the pillow which they half face planted on, but it was still worth it.. "You sure you came on top? I personally think Minecart riding isn't your thing."
Green scoffed with mock offense, making Purple laugh as he started going on a sarcastic rant about how absolutely great he was at the competitions and pretty much everything that was hosted among the stick gang. It all went to deaf ears, however. Green finally got to the bedroom, where Red was trying to solve a rubix cube. Looking up from the cube, he waved excitedly at Green. "Oh! Red, say hi to Purple." Green heads to sit beside Red, showing them both in the camera. Purple lifted their face fully from the pillow after seeing Red.
"Oh! Hey Purple! How are you doing!" Red perked up, looking at the camera and waving briefly before going back to their cube, aggressively turning everything. Green moved away to sit down on his bed and sip his beverage. The two didn't talk about anything interesting in particular after that, just exchanging a few words every now and then, before Purple, inevitably at this point, fell asleep as well. Of course, Green didn't blame anyone for wanting rest. They just got back from that intense battle, after all. But geez, nearly everyone was sleeping, even he was a little shocked. Not wanting to interrupt further, he mumbled a good night and turned his phone, going back to scrolling without a goal.
