Who knew going into a cave in the forest was a bad idea, I just didn’t I didn't expect it to be this bad. One moment, I’m squinting at old paintings and artifacts; the next, I’m sprinting for my life from something that looks suspiciously like zombies.
And to make a terrible situation worse, these aren’t the slow, moaning, fall-over-their-own-feet kind of zombies. No. These are the World War Z, parkour-champions-on-steroids kind of thing, chasing me like a pride of starving lions.
Just as I was mentally preparing for my horribly undignified death, a literal hunk of a man and his equally hot friend showed up and saved me. While coming with her grandmother to China for a mysterious mushroom discovery, Alex stumbles across a hidden artifact deep within a cave in the forest. One impulsive touch later, she’s no longer in the present or even in her own world. Thrust into an ancient era ruled by powerful sects and mystical cultivation, she must survive a land where spiritual strength determines your worth, alliances are deadly, and war brews between the great clans. Oh, and there are zombies. Fast ones.
