Chapter 1: Date night

Chapter Text

POV: Layla
“There you are, Layla.” Felix exclaimed running up to her, backpack still on and wearing the school uniform. He came up to her, taking her hand and looking at the harbour below them. “Finally, I already thought you wouldn’t come.” Layla sighed looking slightly annoyed, “why am I even dating this idiot?” She thought to herself. “Layla, let’s go to the cafe in the park!”
“I’m good, Felix, it’s fine, I need to go home to finish my homework.” Layla said letting go of his hand and turning around, her long dark hair getting in his face.
“Layla- ugh seriously? First you avoid me in school now you’re leaving?” Sadly Layla already turned around the corner not looking back at him.

Layla was going down the street, wondering if it’s pointless to still be in this relationship, after all she still had a date with Eiden later. Maybe it wasn't nice to cheat. Maybe she didn't care. Maybe deep down she knew Felix couldn't even look after himself.

Eventually Layla got back home, dropped her bag and found out her parents weren't here yet. Having some free time, Layla went into her room, calling Lilian. After a few rings Lilian picked up, blue eyes sparkling and reflecting the light. “Hey girl!” Lilian exclaimed excitedly.
“Yeah hi, ” Layla replied slightly tired, “Lili, I was wondering if all of us: me, you, Felix, Eiden and Meli should have a sleepover next week.”
“Please not Melissa, you know how we are, but I think it's a good idea overall. I'm in!” “Okay then, see you later, bye.” Layla hung up. Why did she mention Melissa? It's been a month since these two had a huge fight, Layla just automatically said her name like she used to for the past 4 years. Just get over it, Layla. She told herself. It's obvious they will never be friends again. Well the sleepover will still happen whether Lili wants it or not.

Few hours later, the sun was setting down and Layla remembered she still had a date with Eiden. She decided to get the lacy red dress from her sister's room. The dress was definitely something she wasn't supposed to be wearing but no one will ever know right? After curling her hair, Layla stepped outside as the night began to fall. They were supposed to meet at the park near a cafe. The park was dark at this time of the day, a few lights were still flickering but it didn't really bother Layla.

Layla!” Someone shouted her name nearby. Layla turned around and sighed with relief, it was Eiden with his usual messy brown hair and striking green eyes. She ran up to him, “Oh hi there Eiden. Finally you showed up.“

Eiden got Layla coffee and they sat down on one of the benches in the park. “So, are you planning to leave that idiot?” He said, looking at her expecting a yes. “That idiot? That's what you call your best friend now?” Layla raised her eyebrows with a smirk. “Okay well he is not an idiot, it's just that, Layla, you deserve so much better than him!” Eiden reluctantly said.
“Yeah I know, I know, of course I deserve better. I guess I'll tell him that I want to break up.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
“Thank you.”

After half an hour, Layla went home, wondering how she would explain everything to Felix. When she was about to open her door she noticed a figure nearby and out of the shadow stepped Felix.
