Summary
“I am not the villain in your story because I wanted to be held by someone who looked at me like I mattered.”
Princess Visenya Targaryen is taken hostage by the Greens at the start of the Dance of the Dragons and quickly learns that captivity comes in many forms.
Some are towers. Some are crowns. Some look like Aegon Targaryen.
As war consumes Westeros, Visenya becomes trapped between loyalty to her mother, resentment toward her father, and a dangerous relationship with the usurper king who sees too much of her for either of them to survive unchanged.
But while dragonlords wage war over prophecy and inheritance, Visenya begins to realize the true horror of their house, everywhere Targaryens go, the world burns with them.
