Summary
In an alternate timeline, the Heir to Von Valancius goes missing before they can meet with Theodora. The cause? Responding to a distress signal set as bait by a Druk'hari fleet. The future Lord Captain instead finds herself traded off to a House that undergoes an abrupt 'change in leadership' that leads her to slipping between the cracks and becoming just another nameless mon keigh slave.
When the Heir accidentally embarrasses her master while they were entertaining a Dracon, her already grim fate takes a sharp turn for the worse.
The Dracon Marazhai Aaezyrraesh prides himself on a keen eye, and it only takes one encounter for him to recognize something being squandered.
