Summary
Soul marks were a rare gift from the gods themselves, none dared to ignore, often transcending beyond class or creed. Many believed the gods of Westeros tended to move in mysterious ways - whether old or new mattered not. Oftentimes, they only made the sometimes perilous lives of those who worshipped even harder, many begrudgingly thought, as these bonds tended to interfere in the political games of lords and nobles. So when Tobho Mott’s most promising apprentice, at the age of eight, held out his wrist, a blistering mark of a circle enclosed by a triangle with a line through it, the master smith simply dismissed it as no concern for a lowborn boy and set him hard at task once more. Despite this, and unknowingly aware deep down, the gods had already set the board for their latest game.
