   Summary

   After Mercer’s death, Teylan keeps waiting to feel free.

   Instead, he feels haunted.

   In the cold glow of the Resistance Hideout, with Nor gone, Ri’nela angry and grieving, and Seyra’tey refusing to let him disappear completely, Teylan is left with everything Mercer made of him: the shame, the longing, the guilt, and the terrible need to still be chosen by someone who only ever hurt him.
