Work Text:
In an Imperial prison, two inmates sat close together. They’d been strangers, before, but their imprisonment was coming to a close very shortly, and not because they would be released. So as it stood, each was the other’s only friend they had right now.
They were both resolved to face their executions with bravery, but for now, as the dreadful waiting wore on and swallowed them, they took their limited comfort from one another in silence. Gripping one another’s shoulders, and pressing their foreheads together until the stormtroopers came to take them to the firing squad, they did not weep.
