Work Text:
When Obi-Wan’s dreams weren’t revisiting the past and all the pain that lingered there, they taunted him with a lost future that could never come to be. An “after the war” that he had once imagined, days of peace, real peace. He saw himself overseeing Ahsoka’s knighting. Taking his men, soldiers on the battlefield no longer, off to see a fuller picture of the galaxy and all the wonder in it.
And Anakin, there by his side, happy and unburdened, untouched by the darkness.
When those dreams came, it felt harder than ever to reach for the Force and serenity.
