(3rd person pov, will be unless specified otherwise)
A sigh. A released breath from lips that hadn't held in such a strained airflow for so long. Why was she like this now? Acting as if he had left five minutes ago although it had already been months by now. She stood on her balcony, the cold night air brushing over her shoulders like hesitant fingertips almost touching her, just blowing her hair slightly around.
Honestly, maybe standing out here, looking out into the night in just a fluffy towel after her bath wasn't the best idea, but she didn't have much mental energy to care as of late. It was one of the only pieces she had left of normalcy. Leaving a simple note didn't go over well, and that among other things was not where she wanted to be at this moment. She wanted him to be back, and as much as she despised how he snuck into her apartment so often, she kind of missed it now. She even missed Happy, as annoying as the cat could ever be.
Everything about this was hell. Lucy turned, another sigh escaping her, and shut the balcony off after walking back inside. Everything was quiet. Too quiet compared to what she was used to, but this was how it was now. Heading over to get vanity, she started to fix her hair again before finally getting into her pajamas, ready to end the night.
What the hell was he thinking? Well. Clearly he wasn't. That earned her a small laugh from herself, even if it didn't mean much. Unfortunately, she didn't even have Plue to keep her company, but she'd have to survive this one* night on her own. Couldn't be too bad. She flopped on her bed, staring at the ceiling for a moment, really contemplating everything.
“Why, you nitwit? Why'd you have to go and leave like that?” Lucy half-yelled, at no one, really. There wasn't anyone to yell at, but even just being able to say it was enough. Enough to send her into tears, that ran down her cheeks as her body shook from sobs. You'd think she'd be over it by now, but she just… couldn't. There's no way she could get over something as major as one of her closest people in her life leaving and doing nothing but just leaving her a damn note?! She couldn't decide whether to bawl her eyes out more than she already had… or be pissed off to her wit’s end. To make matters worse, as if they could be, there was not even a single bit of contact from him. No letters, nothing.
There was absolutely nothing to work with there. She didn't know if he was safe, or not, or if he decided he was never coming back. He kept his word, so he wouldn't just… not come back, right? …Right?
“Come on. This is Natsu we're talking about, he's not just going to randomly decide he's abandoning Fairy Tail. He wouldn't pull that out of nowhere…,” She stared at the ceiling still, tears welling in her eyes yet again, “at least I hope not.”
…This was going to be a loooong night.
*Note: This was definitely NOT the first night she's spent completely on her own, but our girl's a little dramatic, and it's the first one in a long while. Just go with it :)
