Work Text:
Remus absolutely loathed being confined to the girls' dormitories.
He'd never felt like a girl. No, he'd always known he was a boy in his head, it's just...
Well, the rest of the world didn't see it that way, because of how his body looked.
"I wanna be a boy" he'd say. James would roll his eyes teasingly and Peter would dismiss the notion, thinking he only yearned for that because 'being a girl is hard'.
It was Sirius who actually saw him, and would call Remus his preferred name and call him a he.
Eventually, Sirius' persistence seemed to rub off on the other boys and, by year two, they hardly even remembered that Remus had once had another name and slept in the opposite dormitory.
To them, Remus was just Remus.
Nothing more, and nothing less.
