Work Text:
Courtney stood in the middle of the kitchen. She held a timer and a clipboard in each hand.
"Move faster, everyone!" Courtney screamed. "The turkey needs to be done in five minutes!"
Miles used a web to catch a falling plate. "¡Ay dios mío!" Miles cried, rubbing his face. "I caught the plate! But, we have a problem. Jax took all our forks."
Jax sat on top of the counter. He grinned and tapped a fork against his teeth. "Just eat with your hands like wild animals."
"Jax, please be nice!" Ragatha yelled. She was on her knees, wiping spilled red cranberry sauce off the floor. "We just want one normal holiday."
Suddenly, a ceiling vent popped open.
CLATTER!
Yatta dropped straight out of the vent. She zoomed around the kitchen on her pink feet. She was chewing on a big piece of chocolate.
"Hi everyone!" Yatta cheered, her sharp teeth showing in a big smile. "I brought candy for the turkey!" She threw a handful of bright candy items into the air. They landed right inside Courtney's gravy pot.
Courtney stared at her ruined gravy. Her face almost turning red with anger. "No! Candy does not go in the gravy! It's common sense!"
Miles stared down from the ceiling in shock. "Yatta, no! Stop running!"
Yatta just giggled and ran in circles around Courtney's legs. "It'll be better with candy!"
Jax laughed and started throwing forks at Ragatha. The kitchen was totally out of control.
Miles looked down from the ceiling. He was done with the mess. "¡Ya basta!" he yelled.
THWIP! THWIP!
Miles shot webs from his wrists. The first web slapped right onto Jax, pinning his long arms to his sides. The second web wrapped around Yatta like a burrito, stopping her feet from moving. Both of them crashed onto the kitchen floor.
They tried to wiggle out, but the webs were too strong.
Miles dropped down from the ceiling. He landed on his feet with a thud right in front of them. He narrowed his eyes and pointed a finger at the troublemakers.
"Don't escape." Miles said in a half-serious, half-joke voice.
Jax rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on, Morales. You're no fun."
Yatta just wiggled on the floor and giggled. "Ooh, sticky!"
Courtney stopped yelling. She looked at Jax and Yatta trapped on the floor, then looked up at Miles. "Wow," she muttered, adjusting her clipboard. "Finally. Some order around here."
With Jax and Yatta tied up on the floor, the kitchen finally became quiet.
"Okay, team," Courtney said, checking her clipboard. "The troublemakers are stopped. Now, we set the table!"
Ragatha smiled and stood up. "I'll grab the plates!"
Miles took the turkey platter from the oven right to the center of the dining table. "¡Perfecto!" Miles said, wiping his forehead. "Dinner is served."
The turkey was slightly burnt on one side, and the gravy had a faint pink swirl from the melted candy. Nobody mentioned it.
Ragatha carefully set up the chairs and set the table. She even carried Jax and Yatta over, propping them up at the table like they were two dolls.
Courtney placed the final napkins down. Everything was perfectly straight. She looked around the table and finally smiled. "Exactly on time. Good job, everyone."
Jax looked at his plate, then looked at Miles. "Hey, Spider-Man. Can you at least free my right hand so I can eat?"
Miles sat down and grabbed a drumstick. He smiled at Jax. "Eat with your mouth, Jax. You said you wanted to eat like wild animals anyway."
Yatta giggled and tried to bite a roll straight off her plate. "Happy Thanksgiving!" she cheered.
Even with the mess, the crazy group finally sat down together to enjoy their dinner.
