Shipwreck Take Two

Summary:

Just... the start of something. I'll redo the summary if I get any more written.

Notes:

Okay there's an idea that's been niggling at me for the last few days, but then actually writing a single scene has been torture.

So this is just the first 14 lines.

Work Text:

2012

"And now, we have breaking news. Oliver Queen, is alive . The son of Starling City's Robert Queen, disappeared along with his father, his Sister Thea Queen, and Sarah Lance, the daughter of a local police detective almost five years ago, when the Queen's yacht was caught in a storm and, it was believed, capsized, killing all of the crew and, it was believed, Robert Queen, his son Oliver, and Miss Lance..."

Across the world, this news was being met with a mixture of emotions.

"-Already had one child coming back from the dead, Moira Queen disappeared only a few months later under mysterious circumstances that the FBI has-"

In a far corner of the globe, in between motions of sharpening of blades, two hooded figures shared a shrouded look and a mutter of confusion.

"Mr Queen will find many things have changed since he last walked the halls of Queen Consolidated, as his childhood best friend, Thomas Merlyn, has-"

In an office in London, one face grimaced even as he struggled to keep the grin off of his face at the news.

"-Known well in Starling's nightclub scene, and infamous for his run-ins with-"

One police detective sighed to himself, and resisted the urge to pull out his hidden bottle of scotch that he could never quit bring himself to dump, despite not having touched it in weeks.

"And, he will have matters far more personal to deal with, as five years ago the announcement of his going missing coincided with that of the sister of his girlfriend Laurel-"

"OH COME ON!" one Lawyer croaked out, then started to hit her head on her desk as several of her colleagues watched on with mixtures of emotions, depending on who knew and who didn't.

"Whether his ex-girlfriend will forgive him cheating on her with her own sister, is anyones guess-"

A rather short, scarred girl looked out from beneath a car with a particularly incredulous look, and spoke to her supervisor, "Like I didn't already fix that five years ago!"

"What we are all wondering however, is just how Mr Queen survived the last five years-"

A man with an eye patch, sat with his son and wife on a porch appearing stereotypically Australian complete with meat grilling for a barbie, shared looks. "How much of that was-" she started to ask.
