Work Text:

The wind howled through the trees as Chance wandered in the forest, the area was covered by the glint of snow, the only light source being the moon high in the sky. He was currently looking for Spade, his dumb rabbit that had escaped his house somehow.

"Spade! Where are you, bunny bunny?" The man shouted, a rustle nearby made him dart his eyes over to the sound. He wasn't the most alert person ever, but his rabbit was currently gone and all he could think about was getting it back.

Chance peaked into the bushes cautiosly, expecting to see a small animal or Spade, what he wasn't expecting was to see a man to dart out the bushes at him with a sword, narrowly missing his chest.

"AHH HOLY TELAMON!" Chance screamed, kicking at the man blindly. His fight or flight instincts kicking into high.

"Stop resisting, you won't live if you do." The man hissed at Chance, stalking towards him with hunched shoulders.

"What-?!" Chance shouted, his breath hitching as he realized he forgot his gun, fuck. He could see blood dripping from the man's arm, staining his white sleeve a maroon red.

"..are you hurt? I can call someone if you need me to." Chance asked, trying to stand up to see if the man needed help.

"Stay down." The man hissed, pointing his sword at Chance, the tip of it gleaming against the moonlight. Chance couldn't see his face, for some reason it was blocked by a black, almost void like screen.

"Why? I promise I'm not not going to hurt you-" Chance started before being cut off as the man leaned in, looking at him more closely Chance could notice a gleam of fangs from the man's mouth as he spoke.. what the fuck was happening...?

The man dropped his sword off to the side, the metal sinking slightly into the snow. The man sunk to his knees on top of Chance, pinning him to the ground.

"What are you going to do to me? Please I just wanted my Rabbit back!" Chance begged. But the man wasn't listening, instead he was readjusting his gloves.

"Stop squirming, you're only making this worse for yourself." The man hummed, placing a finger over Chances lips to silence him.

"Huh-? Wait what are you doing?" Chance whimpered, his eyes wide behind his sunglasses as the man leaned in, for a second Chance thought he was gonna be kissed. (we get it gay ass😒)

But instead of the kiss he expected, a sharp, blinding pain came from the side of his neck. Chance let out a choked scream before the man put a hand over his mouth so he wouldn't alert anyone.

"Shh.. wouldn't want anyone to hear us, would we?" The man murmured before continuing to lap up the blood dribbling from the puncture wounds.

Chance stayed frozen in his place after the man got up and wiped his clothes off, getting rid of any wrinkles in his formal attire. Just as he was about to walk away Chance spoke up

"W-wait! What's your name?" The man turned around to face Chance, crouching down he tilted Chances head up with his index finger.

"The names Itrapped darling, I'll be seeing you." Itrapped stood back up and disappeared into the trees. Chance stayed frozen there, his mind racing trying to catch up on everything that happened.

The bite mark was still bleeding and stung so bad, but he needed to find Spade. Standing up on shaky legs Chances eyes darted around, searching for Itrappeds presence before running faster than he ever did towards where he last saw Spade running off.

Chances hands and feet felt numb from the cold when he finally found Spade, hiding in one of the bushes the rabbit hide nibbling at the leaves.

"Spade! Oh my Telamon... you gave me a heart attack." Chance almost started crying when he picked up the black rabbit and brought it close to his chest.

Meanwhile a cold presence lurked in the trees above, watching the man with Grey hair like he was a piece of steak to a wolf. Itrapprd silently followed Chance through the forest, he wasn't escaping alive.

Chance kept talking to the rabbit as he trudged through the snow, the only light being the full moon shining above the canopy of the tree branches.

Just as Chance was about to reach the edge of the forest Itrapped attacked. The man silently leaned behind Chance and narrowly missed his chest. Chance jumped and almost dropped Spade when he saw the glint of the obsidian colored bade darting out from behind him

Without thinking Chance ran. Ignoring the sting of the icy snow and the splintering cold air filling his lungs as he did. He had to live, he needed to apologize to his mom.

Itrapped kept pace with Chance, letting the gambler gain distance just to close it just as fast. Itrapped swung his sword forward but the gambler had tripped and somehow dodged it, surviving off of sheer luck.

Spade jumped out of Chances grip and ran into the forest. The gambler didnt have time to think about the rabbit before he had to get up and keep going.

The vampire kept chasing after the man, he wasn't finished with his meal yet.

Chance had begun to think about his mother, he figured he wouldn't survive this. He remembered a story time his mother always told him, about a hero rescuing a town from a vampire.. he used a wooden stake... a wooden.. wood. There was wood everywhere! If he found a sharp enough stick on the ground he could live...

Chance kept glancing at the ground while running, during a time where Itrapped let him get distance he saw a branch laying on the ground, it looked sharp enough.

Itrapped was smiling to himself, his meal in arms length. He was about to reach out and grab Chance when he suddenly darted off to the side... what the hell??

Chance lunged for the branch, grabbing the wood off the ground he took two seconds to make sure he was aiming right before he ran at Itrapped, punturing the man in the chest.

"-! What the-" Itrapped gasped, his persona faltering when the pain shot through him like a bullet. He stopped running and grabbed at nothing in particular while he realized what happened.

"Oh you lucky bastard... I'll get you next time." Itrapped hissed, the black screen that covered his eyes flickering with silent rage.

Chance let go of the branch and ran as fast as he could. His muscles and body were being pushed past the limit. He reached the end of the forest and collapsed into the snow, the ice felt like tiny knives stabbing into his face.

His legs shook as he stood up, his whole body trembling as the adrenaline wore off. He was so far from home he didnt know where he was.

He kept walking, driven by the need to find Spade and get home to his mom. He didnt even realize he fell to his knees until his vision started to falter and he passed out in the snow. Nowhere near home and no idea where Spade was.
