It's been a week.
A week since he last saw jjdawg18.
What a weird name, huh? So why is it that Planet is oh, so missing seeing that name pop up in chat? Wanting so badly to see it again in the server logs?
Planet sits idly on a log just outside of JJ’s house.
He's come to calling the mystery boy “JJ”.
Calling him “dawg” just doesn't seem right. I mean, how's he supposed to cope with the name ‘dawg’ being repeated in his head?
The boy huffs and rests his head on his hand. He'll be honest— this sucks hard.
Planet didn't even know he could miss someone so badly. Especially if that someone barely knew him.
It was like an ache on his chest that he couldn't get rid of.
Everytime he tried to just—forget, he couldn't. He tried hanging out with his other friends, grinding on valorant, joining random servers, but each one just winded back to him.
Planet would wonder. Wonder so, so much.
When he's on call with friends, he'd wonder if JJ would like them.
When he's being an absolute sweat at Valorant, he'd wonder if JJ played too.
When he's joining random servers, he wondered if JJ was doing the same thing. The same thing, in a new server.
It's a stupid thought. Why was Planet treating this guy like he was in some year long relationship? They knew each other for like— a month??
He couldn't help but think about it nonetheless. Was Planets test world special? New? Or was it just like any other server JJ joined?
Well— technically, Planets world wasn't even a server. Just some world that JJ somehow managed to get into.
The white haired boy drowsily stood up and opened the door into the birch house. He practically had the whole entire layout memorized with how often he'd visit.
Even though he was in creative, he willingly slept, ate, and did the gist of a normal life.
All in JJ’s house.
Planet would wake up, in JJ’s bed.
Eat in JJ’s room.
Farm in JJ’s pens.
Walk around in JJ’s underground tunnels.
And repeat.
Okay— it wasn't like that everyday. He had hobbies and friends, it's just— JJ was on his mind all the time.
He really wished the blonde boy would at least tell him his name. Then, Planet wouldn't have to make up one in compensation.
And maybe he'd figure out his other socials with that name. Then he could actually text him, call him. Be friends with him.
But that's just a maybe.
He didn't even know anything about JJ. And that's what stung the most. Missing someone who he barely knew? How embarrassing.
But, despite that, the feeling was still there.
______
It's a random Tuesday morning and Planet just logged on.
He's checked the server logs, flew around the map, and checked the tunnels like instinct.
Whether it was to see if anything changed, anything that could've been JJ’s doing, or if he just wanted to see it again is a mystery Planet refuses to solve.
And just when he farms some wheat for the cows, a message pops up in chat.
jjdawg18 has joined the game.
Holy shit.
He's dreaming. He has to be. There's no way.
Planet rubs his eyes. Once, twice, then fully just bangs his head on his keyboard. There's no fucking way.
It's not even early in the day—its like. 11 pm. What's JJ doing here now? Isn't he in Eastern time? He mentioned that before right? Or is he just imagining things? Letting his brain fill in gaps he wished the blonde boy did first?
Planet huffs a breath he didn't know he was holding and scrambles.
He barely catches himself as he trips on his own two feet, but he keeps running.
Why he's running instead of flying? He doesn't know. His brain is mushed up from late nights and early mornings, trying to catch JJ on the server, but to no avail.
Until now.
Because when Planet stumbles on the podium him and JJ built, he chokes back a sob.
Standing right there, in the centre, perfect with the sunlight shining down on him, is JJ.
Blond hair flowing on brown eyes. A white shirt fitted loosely on top of light green and white checkered pajama pants.
Planetlord has never missed the sight of something more in his life.
He averts his eyes—much to his dispair— to the chat message that pops up like a heavenly sent letter.
jjdawg18 < hey, space boy
And just like that, Planet is crashing onto the other, just barely missing the stand for the dragon egg, and a warm embrace surrounds him.
The rest is a blur. It was such a rush of emotions, it felt like being on 1k ping in a crowded server.
So much happened, yet not enough.
He remembers the hug— purple sleeves tugging on a white shirt, a white haired boy crashing into a blond boy, them falling on bedrock—ouch—but ignoring the pain nonetheless.
Because all he can focus on is him.
Next is Planet rolling around the ground with JJ next to him. They're on the grass, somewhere near the bridge, and he doubts neither of them know how they got there.
The noises are filled with laughter, shouts, and small sobs that don't reach the other.
It's blurry, his memory.
They're running around, then they're playing fighting, then they're rolling around on the ground, then they're inside a warm, birch house.
And next thing you know it's over.
The blurry memories, he means.
JJ just got here, why would it be over this quickly? Sorry if that little switch up scared you.
Anyways! Now Planet is gasping for air, leaning over the grass as JJ giggles with a honey bottle in his mouth.
“Dude— why’reyousofast??” Planet huffs out, rolling his sleeves up and taking his hood off.
JJ simply grins and shrugs his shoulders.
“I dunnooo…maybe I'm just more athletic than you”
Well, now Planet can't argue against that. A literal turtle is more athletic than him, and it's not exactly something Planet is proud of.
Planet mumbles out something that suspiciously sounds like ‘shut up’ and climbs up on the log that JJ is currently situated on.
“So,” Planet starts. “Where have you been?” He tries, trying to sound nonchalant but then again, he did just jump onto the other, so maybe there's no point in putting up the act.
JJ smiles smugly, “Why? You missed me?” He asks, even if he already knows the answer. Finding the spacey boy feeding his cows with his wheat in his home was enough of an answer.
Planet simply waves the question off and leans in, eyes squinted and eyebrows furrowed.
“Well? Where have you been?” He inquires once more, intensity in his voice.
JJ responds with a small huff and looks far into the distance. “Just” he breathes, “distracting myself.”
The other pauses before answering. “Well, now you have to tell me more!” Planet shouts right into JJ’s ears, who shoves the other away and smirks.
“Says who?”
Planet pretends to think about it, then leans right in once more.
“Says the server owner—coughcough— me!” Planet exclaims, fingers pointing at his face like a red circle is meant to just appear on him.
“Mmm…naah.” JJ shrugs, eyeing Planet in the corner of his eye.
“Wha—whatdoyoumean no?! Why not?”
“Nothing exciting” the other muttered, circling the rim on the honey bottle with his finger.
“Ooookaay, then tell me while being bored”
JJ gives in with a sigh and starts his story.
It's a whole lot of joining servers, griefing, making temporary friends and enemies, and eventually getting banned.
On. Every. Single. Server.
Planet butts in with an “oof” or an “aahh” every now and then, but over all, he's just listening intently.
JJ goes on to tell him about the crazy mods or rules each one had. And he'd go on about that one singular topic for a least 10 minutes— because, turns out, when you join over a dozen servers and do shit on them, there's a lot to see.
Planet can't help but wish he was with him on those adventures.
Eventually, JJ gets to a point of story telling, Planet nearly misses one particular line that the other says.
First, he's yapping his bum off on the thrill of raiding the “most richest player he's ever seen”, only to get banned right after.
Then he's talking about getting imprisoned for lying about how he got into one of the servers he joined.
Then he's talking about his favorite adventure out of all of them.
“Then—!” JJ makes an explosion gesture with a quiet ‘kaboom!’, “the whole place explodes! Turns out the guy had an orbital strike cannon!”
Planet laughs alongside him and mentions how he was in a server that had that too. JJ forces him to tell him about it soon, but in all honesty, Planet would've told him anyways, forced or not.
And then he hears those special words.
“Sucks though, none of them were as good as yours”
It was so smooth. So quick. Planet barely even caught onto them.
“Woahwoahwoah— wait, what'd you say?”
JJ stops his ranting abruptly and gives Planet his full attention. “Hm? I dunno, what'd I say this time?”
At this point, his brain has stopped working and the only thing he can hear is how his server was the best.
JJ likes his world. Likes PlanetLord.
The white haired boy shakes his head and coughs. “Nevermind—uh, you were talking about a modded server?”
A blond boy pauses briefly, then smiles. “Yeah. Lemme get into detail, space boy”
