Chapter Text
It's around 9pm when Katie gets back to her dorm after practice.
She sighs as she walks down the hall to her door, its been a long fucking day.
Last night, there was another party held by Sigma Iota Mu, the frat house also known as “Holland.” Katie was up all night partying; drinking, dancing, and singing. Then she woke up at the bright time of 1pm and immediately had to go to class (after throwing up a couple times for 30 minutes).
Right after her classes, hungover through both of them, she went to the gym. Because after the gym, she had to go to practice for about 6 hours, and she literally couldn’t raw dog practice, she would die. Of course there were warmups in practice, but that was never enough—especially not today with her stiff, hungover bones. From volleyball to basketball, she did her practice then walked to her dorm, legs aching—it being about 9-10pm at the time. She had no fucking idea though, her eyes heavy and mind foggy throughout the day.
When in her dorm Katie sets her duffle bag and backpack down with a thud. Then, she grabs some clothes, a simple pair of boxers, sweats, and a loose shirt heading to her bathroom.
Earlier in the year, her dormmate moved out, so she was moved to a temporary single and blessed with a bathroom inside her dorm.
She got into the shower immediately, the hot water soothing the ache in her body.
After getting out, she leaves her hair wet, not having the energy to blow dry it. She grabs her phone out of her bag and walks over to her bed. Looking up, she sees Multi in her bed sleeping.
She smiles, getting in the bed. He groans as the bed shifts.
“Oh shut up” she says, still smiling.
Sitting up against her headboard she opens her phone.

She laughs at how desperate he is, does he have any other friends?
She finally texts back.

And he responds immediately.

@ewroon: nothinnn wydd? lets hang out rn
@ewroon: lemme go to ur dorm bestieee
@1andonlykatieb: i canttt :( im busyy
@ewroon: oh
@ewroon: wdym ur busy? arent u at ur dorm??
@ewroon: you’ve been busy all day ://

She grins as she lies, looking over at multi, who has turned over and is now glaring at her phone.
@ewroon: and u didnt ask me to help u????
@ewroon: i thought we were besties katie ://

@1andonlykatieb: you know multi like better than anyone
@1andonlykatieb: arent u best friends?? u should know how good he is at lab
@1andonlykatieb: hes there like every day
@ewroon: well yea but im still here!!!
@ewroon: wait how do you know hes there everyday
Multi groans from beside her, leaning his head against her shoulder.

He scoffs, annoyed at the spamming. Katie is staring at him the entire time, smiling.

@ewroon: when have you ever went to sleep at this time
@ewroon: its like 10pm

She sighs happily as she sets her phone down on her desk at the side of her bed. She slides down her bed and turns over, facing Multi and hugging him. She giggles and he groans again.
“He acts like a clingy girlfriend,” Multi says, rolling his eyes.
“Yeaa, but I already have a girlfriend..” she says, the smile evident in her voice.
He rolls his eyes again, but moves to hug her back anyway, head against her chest.
She can hear him mumble something against her clothes, but she pays it no mind.
She starts giggling as she's reminded of how he acted when Ewron was texting her, jealous.
Katie looks down at him, and he looks up, confused on why she's laughing.
He moves away and leans on his side, hand supporting his head.
“What are you laughing at..?” He asks, softly smiling.
She just smiles at him, about to tease him when he whips his head past her, looking away.
Soft patting of paws come from the opposite of her room, a brown tabby cat walking toward the bed.
It jumps onto the bed and moves in between them, a purr emerging from it as it lays down and starts making biscuits in the air toward multi—though back to Katie, it presses up against her hard.
He starts petting it then asks,
“Oh yeah, you never told me you got a cat, what's that about?” he looks up at her, seeming offended.
She keeps staring at the cat, smiling warmly.
“It’s Mr. J’s, I’m cat-sitting for him for a couple days,” she says.
He makes a confused face.
“Don’t worry, I'm not keeping anything from you,” she then teases.
He rolls his eyes once more, then looks back at the cat, smiling softly at it as he brings a pale, slim finger to its cheek, petting it.
He then whips his head back up to look at Katie.
“Who's Mr. J?” Multi asks, squinting his eyes.
“He's like a father figure to me.. it's a long story,” she says, looking at him warmly.
They stare at each other for a moment, before Katie yawns and moves further under the covers to sleep.
He still looks at her for a moment, then does the same, rolling over to face the wall.
He can feel the light paws of her cat grazing his back as it kneads the air.
He closes his eyes and tries to sleep again.
“..Goodnight Multi..” Katie says sleepily.
He smiles softly, “Goodnight Katie,” pressing his face further into her pillow.
The purr of the cat and soft breaths of each other easing them to sleep.
