Work Text:

RED is the color of the fishing bobber that takes Wifies’ life. Click, a flash of striped red-and-white, and then a ping from his communicator and his world crumbles. Shatters into a million fragments as the ping rings in his ears endlessly and Wifies fell into the void is duplicated, a blur of white.

Red-and-white. Blood on snow.

RED is the color of Wifies’ blood against a slab of pure, white quartz. He crouches in front of his dead best friend and cries like a baby, because he never wanted it to end this way. For all his cold words - their cold words - he never wanted Wifies to die. His world is broken and eventually he’ll plaster it together but the cracks will remain and he’ll never be able to see his reflection clearly anymore.

Red-and-white. Blood-covered mirror.

RED is the color of Spepticle’s blood as the anvil squashes him in a flurry of snow. He’s standing numbly, idly to the side, looking but not really seeing because he’s killed another person. His world has been broken too many times - it’s warped and distorted and it’s never going back to what it used to be. Another crack in the mirror; another nail in the coffin. One more sin to plead guilty for when he dies.

Red-and-white. Sin in justice.

RED is the color of the flashing TNT suspended above his head in a too-familiar ringed pattern. Frozen in time, can’t do anything about it. Helpless as the familiar bitter taste of betrayal surfaces again. Betrayed again by someone he thought he could trust. Standing alone in a blown-up crater with nothing left; too familiar, imaginary obsidian walls rising around him.

Red-and-white. Betrayal and trust.

Notes:
