    Davy’s heart is nearly beating out of his chest. Each footfall on the beach feels more hopeless than the last, the sandy terrain slowing him down significantly. Still, he runs with all his might, looking for a place to hide. Sidling closer to the rocky cliff edge, he ducks behind a fallen tree, looking back to make sure he wasn’t seen. Satisfied with his hiding spot, he sinks down for a rest, breath coming out of him in short gasps. He hasn’t run this hard since god knows when.

    Suddenly, he hears a growl, and it’s much closer than he’d like. He looks up and meets the eager eyes of his pursuer. His heart stops. He’s been spotted.
