Chapter Text

"I just don't get it!"

Hanni groaned, shoving her head into her palms. Her eyes glittering as tears threatened to spill.

She'd been dumped yet again, this time by a girl who wasn't even all that! At first, she had loved Hanni wholeheartedly—well that's how it seemed to her at least. She was everything, to Hanni at least. The woman really was just the bare minimum, texting often, updating Hanni, saying I love you maybe a little too much, meeting up daily at either girl's places.

All that cheesy bull.

But once two months had gone by, the girl had completely gone M.I.A. I mean, the over whelming use of 'I love you' should've been a clear warning that things would eventually go down hill for both of them

Nothing was said between them, no warnings, no texts—no nothing.

Which if you couldn't guess you now, instead of actually bothering to confront the girl for her sudden disappearance, it led to Hanni stalking the other woman's page, Instagram, Tiktok, hell—even Facebook!

Abnormally stupid wasn't it? Instead of communicating she'd resorted to finding out herself, which was 101 of most unideal things to do when in a toxic, unstable, and confusing relationship.

And guess what?

The other woman was excusing herself, saying it was on her avoidant attachment style—her flimsy reason for her love bombing. Okay, let's pretend it was her attachment style though. It wouldn't justify it! If she was aware of her own problematic self when it came to romance she shouldn't have dated. She should've focused on herself.

In reality though,

She had just fallen for another.

And left Hanni in this state.

Yes, that state.

The state in which after every middle schooler's relationship had fallen apart, they'd be utterly unbearable to hang around because they wouldn't shut up a single second about 'the one that got away'—except Hanni was in fact a highschooler.

Yet here she was,

Playing sad songs on repeat, trying to reach out using notes, reposts, anything at this point. Trying to be noticed yet avoiding one another in person. She checked her phone at the sound of every notification—hoping it was the other woman.

Hanni was the kind of girl who'd be devestated, probably be found behind the umpster, sobbing ugly to herself. No matter how many relationships she had gotten herself into, no matter how shitty each person was—she just loved hard.

Or maybe she was extremely impulsive. Two things could condratict and exist alongside one another, no?

It was completely her fault though. Hanni had sworn, signed an oath, a promise to focus on herself. To stop treating romance as if it were the pinnacle of her entire existence! She had said, and I quote, 'I don't need anybody, I'm legit a girlboss.'

Look where that got her now.

"Uh—there there now! I'm sure you'd find somebody good for you."

Danielle could only look at her with pitiful eyes, rubbing circles on the other's back. Their friend group was all too familiar with Hanni's experiences with romance. She had rose colored glasses on 24/7.

It was repetitive, an unbreakable pattern that they couldn't snap Hanni out of. They felt bad, but their ears could fall off any moment from how much whining Hanni did every single God damn time!

Anyway,

The first person Hanni had dated? A playgirl. Hanni was unfortunately just on Seokbin's roster that day. She'd been toyed with, hard.

Hanni was terribly inexperienced, oblivious to the rumors. She'd fallen quick, an easy catch. Just a couple hello's here, maybe a dash of 'you're cute', and she had her wrapped around her finger. Made out with her a couple times, saw each other multiple times a week, but ended up lasting just three weeks either way.

Second one? Another gal. Charismstic, fly, smooth with her words. Her name was Yu. A complete gentlewoman, in Hanni's eyes? The whole complete package. She'd do the sidewalk rule, pull out a chair for her, saved her a seat, carry her things, the things Gen Z fawned over. Eventually though, it became clear to Hanni that Yu was more interested in one of Hanni's friends though.

A cheater.

Sure, Yu didnt act on it. But still, Hanni was heart broken. She was absolutely certain that she'd be the one! It was like a fairytale come true after all.

Currently, though? It was this one—some jackass blaming it on her attachment style just to excuse herself. And Hanni just believed her because all she had to do was bat her pretty eyelashes, fake a guilty expression, and make their voice break.

"Hanni, maybe you just need to.. Stop falling for every guy and girl that show the slightest hint of interest in you?"

Hanni's head shot up to meet Haerin's disappointed gaze,

Unlike the others in their circle of friends, Haerin was the most set on trying to make Hanni stop. She saw how it was destroying her friend, prioritizing some fleeting feelings over her own self. It pained her.

Seeing how self-destructive it was, she couldn't just sit there, watch, and tell Hanni to try all over again. Just because their was many almost doesn't mean there would be an actual result.

They were still growing anyway, they weren't even in college yet. Why look for one now, and in fact, why base your life into finding one?

Hanni was well aware of Haerin's judgment, yet she just couldn't help herself.

"What? I'm serious Han. This isn't healthy for you, stay out of relationships. You've ended up a mess after each one, why do you keep on trying? Don't you think you're just not made for this." Haerin shook her head in pure disbelief,

"Like Phammie, you should really give yourself a self checkup-"

Hyein abruptly interrupts, "—or you should try dating somebody on your radar?"

Haerin furrowed her brows at that comment, clearly out of disapproval. On the other hand, Danielle's blouse was covered in snot and drenched in tears by now, working overtime as a human tissue for Hanni.

The youngest catches the the accusing glare, she sighed, shooting her hands up as she attempts to state her reasonings before Haerin decided to murder her in her sleep.

"Okay—just give me a second! Let me tell you my wise tells, uh, one rotten apple doesn't taint the entire tree you know?"

Hyein grimaced, she was completely unprepared. It was going to be hard to explain herself with out throwing Minji under the bus.

"I think Hanni should just take her time to get to know them before acting on it. And maybe try out dating people who are already on her radar—just so she's completely familiar with them already!"

"I don't want to!"

Hanni's out burst was loud, catching many people's attention. The cafeteria had gone silent for an excruciatingly long three seconds. Haerin exhaled deeply out of her nose, trying to calm herself down. Hanni just hid herself in Danielle deeper. Completely embarrassed.

After the attention was diverted away from their table, Hanni peeked, and sat up straight.

"Listen, I'm really against the idea of dating people I've already known—" She started off,

"Why?" Hyein asked, what was wrong with dating somebody you were close to? Wasn't that how chemistry built up. "Ugh- just let me finish okay?!"

She grumbled something under her breath, hitting her forehead with her fist repeatedly, an attempt to clear her jumbled up thoughts.

The three were all listening closely, it was something they've pondered and wondered about for a long time after all. Hanni always seemed against getting with somebody she knew well.

"If I date somebody that matter stop me—like a ton a ton! It'll definitely make the break up like.. A bajillion times worse. You guys already know how much my current relationships hurt me, so just imagine it okay? Losing somebody who was already important before.."

Her voice trailed off, as she she then began sniffling once more. Her irritated front already collapsing immediately, as she wipes her nose with her sleeves.

"Hanni—uh. Sorry! I know it's really bad timing, but here. Tissues. I don't think you should use Minji's varsity jacket as your personal wipes." Danielle handed over a box of tissues nervously, knowing Hanni was in a bad state right now worried the girl.

"Oh." Hanni blinked, looking down at what she was wearing. Right. She borrowed it from the girl, the classroom had been freezing cold earlier. "Right.."

She began rubbing at the sleeves with wipes profusely, "Agh! Guys, when is Minji getting off from practiceee... Do I still have time to rush over to a laundromat?!"

Hyein snorted.

Danielle just giggled, while Haerin's lips curl at the corners. "Hanni, it's Minji we're talking about. She wouldn't care if you drew all over it. In fact, she wouldn't even mind if you kept the jacket all to yourself."

Unbelievable.

Hanni dismisses their replies, "Oh come on! Here you guys go again with the delusional thinking, this is Minji's favorite. She'd never give it to me." She crossed her arms.

Minji and Hanni were the closest pairing in their group. They'd known each other before they met the others. In fact, Minji was probably the only reason Hanni survived moving here to Korea! She didn't speak a single bit of Korean.

Luckily though, she was seated next to her. And trust me, Minji practically saved her entire report card.

It had been years since they've met, they went all the way back to middle school. Yet Hanni couldn't forget how happy she was to come across the older girl. God seriously blessed her that day.

. . .

"Why the heck are they mentioning burgers in our worksheet!?" Hanni's fist was full of her hair, irritation spread across her face. What did burgers have to do with this?

Minji raised a brow, okay, Hanni was probably misundedstanding the text. She let out a soft hum, "Let me take a look."

Hanni paused, tapping her ballpen against the table.

She really, really didn't want to admit that she needed her help. But she'd much rather get a passing grade than failing her class just because her ego couldn't handle a little bruise.

Hanni slid her paper over to Minji, Minji grabs her glasses, places it on, and began examining the worksheet carefully.

"Hm. Oh, you mistook Beo Geop Da as burger? Well, the meaning is something different." Minji briefly stops, carefully thinking about how to explain it to the Viet, "It means burdened or heavy actually. Like doing something you can't do."

Something must've clicked for Hanni then, because her gears finally began spinning. That made much more sense than burger!

"Ohh... Thanks bro."

"Bro?" Minji almost laughed, "Okay.. Bro."

"Yeah bro." Hanni grinned, "you're my.. Brochacho. Broseph. You know."

Now Minji failed to hold back at that, Hanni grinned. She was proud of herself, successfully making her unguarded! Minji had always been the more reserved type, which is why Hanni liked it whenever Minji loosened up just to assist her.

But Hanni was caught off guard, the sound of joy had come to a sudden halt. Which made Hanni tilt her head up to check on Minji.

She was looking right at her. Her lips slightly parted, her eyes maybe twinkling? Was Hanni dreaming? Somebody pinch her.

Why was she looking at her like.. That?

. . .

"Hey." Hanni's daydream had been disregarded the moment she heard that voice. "Oh my gosh—MINJI! Broseph, you took wayyy too long.." Hanni whined, grabbing Minji's arm immediately. Urging her to sit next to her.

Minji seemingly hesitated, just for a fraction of a second. Like she was conflicted. It wasn't obvious to the others, but it caught Hanni's eye immediately.

Still, Minji chose to position herseld next to the shorter gal.

"I wasn't away for that long, you're being way too needy." She patted Hanni's head, shaking her head in disbelief at such exaggeration. "Come onn.. You're just saying that to poke fun at me! You practically missed the entirety of lunch time. Wait—stop talking with me right now. Go and eat already!"

Minji gives Hanni a sheepish smile, "Okay okay.. No need to pressure me, I was planning to anyway."

"Good girl." Hanni grinned, her lips landed on Minji's nose. A soft, chaste, and fleeting peck—basically a tease. Something to keep Minji hooked onto her. The usually indifferent senior had frozen in place.

What.

. . .

Heat rushed to the tip of Minji's ears, utterly speechless. She opened her mouth, nothing came out. Her brain was completely mush, in fact, she slapped herself a couple times to make sure she was still alive.

Was Hanni okay in the head? What was that for? Did she figure out about Minji's hopeless crush on her and decided to toy with her just because. Completely overwhelmed, Minji was stuck staring at Hanni's figure which seemed to be focused on chatting with the rest of the crew.

She looked around, checking each and every one of their expressions. Nobody saw that? No way. Minji was sure she let out a shriek before Hanni's lips brushed against her warm cheeks.

Or maybe it was all internal. Minji was skilled at keeping quiet after all. Thank the heaven's above for this God-gifted talent of hers that she thought was useless back then.

Jesus.

Her heart was racing, her head pounding. Her breathing was uneven—Hanni was going to be the death of her one day. Her effect on Minji was too much. Why could a simple girl destabilize her carefully built self in an instant? This wasn't who Minji made herself to be.

Then again, the girl was Hanni. Her Pham Hanni.

The one who had managed to captivate her the moment she offered her that goofy grin—strange for the untouchable senior.

She still couldn't come to terms with it, she knows she'd been hopelessly adoring Hanni for four years straight. Which was pathetic, considering she prided on never being stuck in one place. This short Aussie had just disrupted her rhythm.

Oddly enough, Minji didn't mind. Nope! Not a single bit.

Haha. Just kidding, she did. She could never sleep at night the same, she'd roll a hundred times over her the comfort in her own bed, never finding the right spot. And once she did? She still couldn't indulge into peaceful rest. Because her mind immediately redirected itself to Hanni.

Hanni, Hanni, Hanni. It was all Hanni.

Minji's considered getting therapy, she was very much sure this was an unhealthy obsession. I mean—she was practically an insomniac just because that girl's face appeared all the time in her slumber! And also, Minji was weirded out. For Hanni.

She'd be terrified if Hanni suddenly gained telepathic powers and read her mind. Oh God—what if she was reading her mind right now? She must think Minji was a freak! A loser, some pervert, or even worse. A disgusti—

"Minji!"

Her eyes immediately flicked up at the call of her name, "You've gone all quiet. Whatcha thinkin' bout? Care sharing with the class." Hyein had snapped her out of it.

Her tone was light, but Minji knew Hyein was concerned.

Oh yeah, Hyein was the only one out of their friends that knew about Minji's not-so-little crush on Hanni. Minji didn't plan to tell anybody, but Hyein was way too observant for her own good.

And way too nosy. She basically had no choice but to tell everything to the latter. Minji blinked a couple times, recomposing herself.

"I'm good. Was thinking about practice."

She muttered weakly, it was unconvincing to the entirety of their group, but Minji's mind was a mess. Completely short-circuited at the moment, she didn't have the energy anymore.

Danielle clearly wanted to ask, Hanni and Haerin too. But it was obvious to them that Minji's feelings were heavy at the moment and decided collectively to give her space.

The rest of them continued chatting, finding their pace—occasionally checking up and bringing Minji in to the conversation.

Minji just nodded along, reassured their worries, and continued eating quietly. She really didn't mean to worry them for such a silly reason. It was her problem anyway, not theirs.

Had chewing always been so.. Draining? She swore her jaws were working overtime at this point. Probably tired from practice. That's all.

Hanni had suddenly tapped Minji on her shoulder, "Hey sleepyhead." She perked up at the sound of Hanni's soothing voice. Wow, what a recharge.

"Mm.." Minji mumbled, her eyes were half-lidded, yet she had her full attention on the girl beside her. The view she was currently drinking in was dangerous, how did Hanni suddenly turn a thousand times prettier in a single minute?

She concluded that Hanni was a supernatural.

"Come on, stop fighting it. Lunch break's got a long way to go, twenty minutes left."

"I would definitely succumb to sleep if there was a bed." Minji grumbled, listen, she loved Hanni. But what was the other girl thinking? Where the hell would Minji rest in a cafeteria!

"Dude. You can't be for real." Hanni whispered, as she then wrapped an arm around Minji's head and made the girl lean on her.

Oh.

"I'm literally right here, I could be your walking pillow. Are you even thinking clearly right now Kim Minji?" Hanni joked, amused at Minji's unblinking self.

Woah.

So pretty.

Such a shame her ears couldn't record the sound and replay it all over again. A waste. She could never get sick of it, it was unthinkable to even dislike the voice of an angel. Impossible to not wish to hear more.

"What's that stupid smile for?" Hanni snorts. Huh? Was she smiling. She wasn't aware—the corner of her lips had curled. Her hands slightly trembling. Why was she all shaky..

"N-nothing.."

Even more strange, she had stumbled on her own words. It actually was nothing, wasn't it? She was simply just appreciating Hanni's natural hypnosis.

Well. Okay, it was definitely because of Hanni's unfair hold on Minji.

But come one, it was still embarrassing for her to admit! A single smile directed towards her—her heart would completely lose it. She's never actually held Hanni's gaze even! That too was difficult for her. Also—

'Rest in peace Kim Minji: Cause of death, staring contest with her gorgeous bestfriend Pham Hanni.' You see how dumb that sounds? Loser behavior.

"Pfft—! You're such a dork it's adorableee.." Hanni dragged out, grabbing one of Minji's cheeks and pinching it, Minji let out a soft whine out of protest but did nothing about it. Okay, maybe it's not too bad if Hanni finds loser behavior cute.

"Okay love birds! It's time for y'all to get a room. Chop chop." Danielle clapped, directing the attention towards her.

"We'll get a room once you get an apartment with Haerin." Minji spat back, she'd been noticing how Haerin quiet observed Danielle more often than she did with them.

Haerin was naturally attentive, but Minji knew Haerin was a little too attentive with the cheery girl.

She saw the way Haerin looked at Danielle.

The same way she did with Hanni.

"Oh don't worry, it's a work in progress already!" Danielle winked, Haerin choked on her spit, Hyein whistled.

"Am I seriously just the third wheel in our group?" Hyein complained; slamming her fist on the table before ranting—

"Like come onnn.. I look to my left, Haerin and Danielle's being all sweet and cuddlely together!"

"That's not—" Haerin cut off, but Danielle spoke for her. "Oh hush honey! You know it's true." The feline-like girl was immediately silenced, cheeks bright red.

"Thank you Danielle for not denying it, anyway, I look to my right? Minji and Hanni's all over one another! Like seriously guys? Right in front of my salad."

"Me and Minji are just good bros. Right bro?" Hanni retorted, as she pats Minji on the back to emphasize their.. Brotherly? Sisterly? Whatever broship they've got. Minji just nodded before adding on,

"Mhmm.. Very broseph. Brochachomaxxing." She offers her fist, Hanni grinned widely, fistbumping her with all her might. Hyein just rolled her eyes.

"Whatever you say, I'm just saying, if you two end up dating." She pointed towards Minji and Hanni, "I'll be at your wedding say 'I told you so'."

Minji peeked over to steal a glance to Hanni, wanting to sneak peek on how the other had reacted. Unfortunately, she seemed unaffected.

Well.

Guess all Minji could do was hope and pray to her an 'I told you so' from a rather nosy younger girl. But for now? She'd rather have  Hanni as a friend. Losing her wasn't on her 2026 bingo card.

Minji's attention was brought back by the screaming and chasing.

"YAH—! Danielle, I'm gonna kill you!" Hanni hissed, okay, what had gone wrong? Danielle seemed way too mischievous for her own good as well. Danielle was always all smiles, but this one had a different flavor to it.

"WAIT—HANNI NO!" Danielle yelped as the two of them crashed into the bench. The other three looked away, lowering their heads, pretending as if they had no idea who the two were.

"They're acting like children.." Haerin pinched the bridge of her nose, sounding like a disappointed parent. Minji could only help but agree. But Hyein?

"Soo.. You're both pedophiles?" That. Was COMPLETELY uncalled for. Minji and Haerin both turned their heads so fast their necks could've snapped. "Hyein, what the fuck?"

Hyein blinked, raising a brow, "I meann.. You two admitted to seeing them as little kids, I'm pretty much right buddy." She continued with her joke, embarrassing the untouchable duo.

"Hanni." Minji called out, Hanni stopped chasing Danielle momentarily, her attention was fully on Minji now. "Hm?"

"Get Hyein for me. Pretty please?" Minji requested, Hyein immediately began running, "Jokes on you, Hanni's legs are too short!" Hanni hadn't even chased her yet, a taller girl getting the head start? Completely unfair—protori nerf Hyein.

"Grah—you two brats! Come here! I'm going to smack both yours and Danielle's head together!" Hanni yelled, chasing right after.

Cute.

.

.

Classes were done, students returned to their own respective dorms.

But Minji, goody-two-shoes, Dean's listed, model student? Told Hanni to go with her. A surprise, especially because curfew was in an hour.

Yet what Hanni didn't expect the most? It was just them two. No sign of Danielle's sunshine energy, not a glimpse of Haerin's signature cat eyes, and no tail of Hyein's outrageous questions.

Was she going to get murdered tonight? Surely not! This was Minji, her best friend. Nothing wrong has ever happened to Hanni when she was with her.

Minji was way too fast though. Hanni swore she usually matched her pace, what's gotten Minji in such hurry?

"Yo—! Stop walking so damn quick Minji, I'm not an athlete like you you know? In fact, I'm quite the opposite." Hanni attempted to keep up, but kept on falling behind. Minji turns to look at Hanni.

The taller senior was silent which concerned Hanni, before Hanni could do anything, Minji wrapped her arms around her waist. Pulling the shorter girl in.

Hanni's breath hitched.

What was going on—

"Minji? YAH—" She yelped, the woman had carried her effortlessly. Seriously, Minji seemed all riled up now!

Minji cleared her throat,

"We can't waste a single second." Minji said, carrying Hanni as if she were something fragile—porcelain. Fortunately for Minji, Hanni didn't mind such sudden handling.

Hanni was still missing out on it completely,

"Okay okay—I get it now. But seriously, where are you taking us? Why's it got you in such a hurry?" Hanni nagged, she wanted to know the whole picture. Minji sounded excited—don't let her deadpan voice trick you, and things that excite Minji? Hanni wanted to learn them all.

"You'll see."

Hanni frowned at such vague response, very cruel of Kim Minji to leave her wondering like this. She had no idea whether to brace herself for something illegal or possibly experience the best day of her life. It was most definitely the latter, Minji's way too good to do such illegal actions!

But hey, it was better to be safe than sorry no? Minji was acting shady. Like a smooth-ass criminal.

And people say to watch out for the quiet kids too! Oh goodness, what if Hanni's assumption was right? Apparently, the silent ones were the deadly ones. Terrifyingly nerve wracking.

Lord, please forgive whatever Hanni has done. Forgive her if she had hurt anybody, she truly didn't mean it! Just don't let her die here—she was way too young!

"Hanni."

Please God, answer her prayers!

"Hanni."

She swears to never sin again—

"Hanni!" Finally, Hanni snapped out of whatever religious trance she were in. "We're here."

As Hanni hesitantly peeled her eyes open, it was fortunately nothing like she had thought it would be. Which, first of all, why would it be? Minji wasn't that kind of person. Be so for reaaal..!

Hanni's breath got stuck in her throat.

Holy shit—

Was her eyes deceiving her? The store in front of her was way too adorable to be true! She's never seen it around here, must've opened just recently..

It seemed to be a dog cafe, the name? PurrfecT. It was a cozy, pastel-themed dog cafe tucked between taller buildings, designed with soft rounded architecture and warm cream, pink, and beige tones that made the place feel comforting and whimsical. Its glowing neon sign, shaped with a dog-bone “T,” along with paw-print decorations and fairy-lit windows, which definitely succeeded in drawing Hanni in.

"Minji—"

"Thank me later, I know how much you love dogs. Let's go in already, I don't want to keep you waiting." Minji said, grabbing Hanni's wrists and dragging her along.

Hanni was about to protest, but it had died down. Especially once she'd entered. Inside, the cafe had a warm golden atmosphere with curved furniture, cloud-like chairs, hanging plants, and playful dog areas where puppies wandered around freely. The space felt soft, lively, and intentionally adorable.

Oh and the SMELL—The aroma! Delicious. A slightly earthy, strong, decadent fragrance came from the roasting of coffee beans. The pastries? All distinct and different. Buttery goodness, a promising sugar rush.

Hanni couldnt help but giggle childishly, she's always wanted to head to a dog cafe! Unfortunately, High school had been getting rid of all their free time. A true pain in the ass.

Yet here she was now—her favorite place, with her favorite friend ever. She was now very sure that Minji must've been a miracle worker in her past life!

But wait, Hanni realized something disappointing.

"This is nice and all that you know.. But Minji, I didn't come—" Minji shoved her wallet into Hanni's chest, she predicted what the girl had to say, "I know. That was intentional. I told you to come here with nothing because I wanted it to be my treat."

Oh.

"You ready now?" Minji asked, tugging slightly at Hanni's sleeves. Hanni slowly looked up at her, as if Minji were a real life blessing from above. She eventually nodded without saying a word.

Because what was there even left to say? There wasn't enough languages or words in the dictionary to describe her gratitude right now! Which was something alright? Hanni used to think there was too many dialects and thought that all countries should just collectively agree on using a singular one.

So she used her limited knowledge of Korean,

"Minji, 당신은 위대함 그 자체입니다, 제 감사함을 충분히 표현할 수 없습니다. 서툰 한국어지만 제 깊은 감사를 전할 수 있기를 바랍니다."

You are greatness itself, and I cannot fully express my gratitude. Though my Korean is awkward, I hope to convey my deep thanks.

. . .

Minji's throat suddenly felt dry.

The noise of the café faded into static. The barking puppies, the clinking mugs, the soft chatter around them—it all blurred into nothing the moment those words left Hanni's mouth.

And the worst part?

Hanni looked so sincere.

Those wide eyes staring up at her so earnestly, trying so hard to speak proper Korean despite still fumbling over certain pronunciations after all these years. It wasn't polished. Some parts were awkwardly formal, others clunky and unnatural.

But Minji thought it was the prettiest thing she'd ever heard.

No idea how badly Minji wanted to grab her face right now and kiss the life out of her. How her chest physically hurt from holding herself back all the damn time.

Instead, Minji looked away first.

Coward.

"...Your Korean improved." She muttered sheepishly.

"Yeah." Hanni looked at her as if she hung the moon and stars, "All thanks to you." Shit. Hanni—please. Don't give her anymore false hope. She couldn't.. She shouldn't.

Minji could only swallow hard, an attempt at regaining her composure quickly, screw her stupid lovesick mind. She brought Hanni here to make Hanni happy—she was going to keep her focus, cover everything for Hanni, and make it the most memorable day for her.

"Cut yourself some slack, I just helped you out a bit. It was all you.. Anyway, I reserved a seat for us over there. Let's go?"

Hanni looked to where Minji's fingers directed at, a peaceful corner, one with windows and fairy lights. It was also near the play area for the dogs.

Minji really knew her, huh.

She took Minji's fingers, interfacing their hands in one another. Before speaking so soft Minji could've missed it—

"Yeah. Let's go."
