"You may now kiss."
As Portugal and England shared their kiss it made Iceland contemplate why he was here. Sure, Norway was a friend of England but that didn't mean he had to be dragged along to some wedding he didn't care about. And frankly it was all too much. Almost every nation was here which meant Iceland could just slip out unnoticed.
Iceland glanced at Norway.
"I'm going to go outside. Fresh air."
Norway looked at his little brother. Iceland could guess that Norway probably didn't believe the excuse.
"Need me to come?"
"Uh, no. I'm fine alone." Iceland muttered before standing up. Luckily they were sat at the back as family was sat at the front so hopefully no one would see him.
Iceland successfully made it out with little to no social interaction. The scenery around the church was beautiful though Iceland couldn't help thinking that his landscapes were better. Any country would be biased.
There was a slight breeze though the country of Portugal remained hot which was to be expected. Iceland wasn't used to heat like this especially not in a suit, he much preferred his colder climate. Iceland shed off his suit jacket though he held it awkwardly as he didn't want to get it dirty but also there was no comfortable way to hold it.
"Finally! There you are!"
Iceland whipped around to be met with a boy. He looked similar to china though he had shorter hair with a fringe that swept to the side. There was no mistaking he was related to England because he had those eyebrows but Iceland thought that they fit the boys face.
Iceland blinked in confusion.
"Do I know you?"
The boy had a smile on his face.
"You don't but, like, we should get to know each other."
This boy wanted to be friends with him? Iceland wasn't sure why. Most people skipped over him or didn't take much interest in him, Iceland felt his heart skip. The only friends he really had were Latvia and Liechtenstein but sometimes they felt more like acquaintances than actual friends.
"Sure."
"Hell yeah, I'm Hong Kong. I, like, saw you slip out. It's so boring."
So this boy was Hong Kong. Iceland had heard of him before but never actually met him before now considering he was in Asia and Iceland was the furthest country in Europe.
"You did? I thought I was silent enough," Iceland frowned if Hong Kong noticed who else. "Wait, how did you get out? Aren't you at the front?"
Hong Kong smirked. "Well, like, you see I said I was going to the bathroom but I went to find you instead."
"I gathered."
Iceland wasn't that good socializing there were a few reasons. One, he was autistic and has ADHD and two, the rest of his family weren't that sociable apart from Denmark and Finland. Iceland winced the two of them could be loud, very loud sometimes.
"Want to like go to a cafe or something?" Hong Kong asked still wearing the grin.
Iceland wasn't sure it would be best as he could guess Hong Kong has never been to Portugal before and neither has he either and also Iceland would rather not walk around in a suit. It would bring unwanted attention and Iceland might faint.
"Do you have any places in mind?" Iceland asked
"Not really no, but like we can wonder around to find one."
Iceland just looked at him with a blank expression. He would rather go live alone with Denmark again than go wonder the streets of Portugal with no clue of where he is.
"I'll take that as a no," Hong Kong looked like he was thinking until he found an idea. "Why don't you like come back to my hotel room!"
Iceland blinked in surprise. He actually didn't find anything wrong with it apart from being stuck in a room with someone he doesn't know very well but it was better than being bored out of his mind.
"Sure."

The walk took longer than expected because Hong Kong kept stopping by shops and wanting to go in them and Hong Kong had bought the two of them friendship bracelets and refused to let Iceland pay him for his share. Hong Kongs reason was that he didn't use Icelands currency which was fair but Iceland still felt like he owed him something.
In the sun Hong Kong practically glowed his dark brown hair had a orangey tint that made him feel other worldly and for some reason Iceland felt heat rise in his cheeks.
"You okay bro? Your blushing." Hong Kong asked with a hint of worry but also teasing in his voice as he looked at Iceland.
"Uh, yeah. I'm fine. It's just... Hot." Iceland muttered.
They finally made it to the hotel and Iceland could feel the air conditioning and he felt better. Iceland really wasn't sure why he felt so hot all of a sudden it really must be the heat getting to him.
The two teenagers climbed a few stairs before Iceland stopped on his floor.
"Can I change clothes before." Iceland asked
"Of course bro. My floor is just two up and it's room 42, cya soon!"
Iceland sighed with relief and walked to his room and opened the door. Luckily he didn't have to share a room with anyone he would hate it if he had to share with the others, Norway already digs into his life too much already. Iceland would dread to share a room with his brothers.
Iceland quickly changed into a t-shirt and some jeans. Normally Iceland would wear a jumper but it would be too hot but Iceland was glad to be rid of that awful suit. It made him shiver with how tight it was.
Iceland glanced at his phone and contemplated texting Norway about him going back to the hotel but he decided against it as he didn't want Norway to be over dramatic.
Iceland made his way up to Hong Kong's room and knocked. The door opened immediately to reveal the teenager in a t-shirt as well as a pair of jeans. They matched in a way and Iceland liked that though he wasn't sure why.
Hong Kong invited him in and Iceland looked around. It was the average hotel room though it was messy, seems like Hong Kong made no attempt to tidy up because there were just clothes on the floor.
Both Iceland and Hong Kong were still wearing their shoes though for different reasons.
"Should I take my shoes off?" Iceland asked as he wasn't sure of what to do.
Hong Kong looked down at his own shoes before responding with a yeah. So both of them took their shoes off. Hong Kong shrunk by two inches and Iceland rose by two inches when they noticed how the height of the other had changed they just looked at each other.
"You are on your tip toes." Hong Kong said looking at Icelands feet as he was indeed on his tip toes.
Embarrassed grew in Iceland. "I have a leg condition where my Achilles tendon didn't grow as fast as my bones did" Iceland tried to explain though Hong Kong just looked lost.
"And you are just short." Iceland said looking down at the boy.
"You Europeans are just freakishly tall."
"If you think I'm tall wait until you see Sweden or the Netherlands."
"Be quiet." Hong Kong said turning away and went to sit on his bed.
Though when he realised Iceland didn't follow him he pat the space besides him and Iceland moved and sat next to him. Iceland felt strange why was hanging out with this boy he just met so nice and it made him feel nice.
"So, how do you like know England?" Hong Kong asked
"He's my brother's friend. Some magic club or something. And I'm guessing you are related to England." Iceland said pointing to his eyebrows.
"Uh yeah, I'm like his son."
Iceland looked a little confused. "I thought China was your dad?"
"Yeah he is too, they both are. Don't tell me your homophobic."
"What! No! My family is basically dating everyone. There's some stuff I wish I didn't hear about it." Iceland said thinking about a time he came home early to immediately regretted it and went back outside for a walk. The relationship between Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland was complicated as they all have dated each other in the past and now they are all dating.
"No yeah I like get you apart from the dating everyone thing, China has like only two relationships and one was England in the past."Hong Kong sighed as he laid down on his bed.
"Hey, can I admit something? It may be a little creepy." Hong Kong said after awhile of silence.
"Sure" Iceland was confused on what he was going to ask but also intrigued.
"The reason I wanted to hang out today was because I've had a crush on you for months now."
Iceland blinked. Hong Kong liked him? What? How? Why? Huh?!! Iceland was shocked to say the least. Now Iceland finally knew what he was feeling as well.
"You have?"
"Yeah. I totally get if you don't feel the same you literally just like met me today"
"No, no, I do feel the same. At least I think I do."
Hong Kong looked at Iceland confused and now Iceland wasn't sure if he should tell him about his autism because what if that puts him off.
"I have autism. It makes me struggle to tell what I'm feeling." Iceland explained
"Oh! I've heard of that. So like is that a yes or?"
"It is a yes. Does that make us dating now?"
"I suppose so. This happened fast" Hong Kong laughed as he dragged Iceland to lay besides him.
Icelands heart was racing, he couldn't believe he now has a boyfriend.
The two talked for what seemed like minutes when in fact it was hours and they only knew hours had past because Icelands phone rang.
Norway was calling.
"Ah shit. I better go back, the wedding is most likely done." Iceland said standing and declined his brothers call and right as he was about to leave Hong Kong walked over to him and kissed him on the cheek. Blush crawled over Icelands face again and Hong kong laughed.
"See you later then." Hong Kong smiled and let Iceland go.
Iceland hurried down to his floor and was met with Norway who took one look at him and raised an eyebrow.
"I was with a... Friend" Iceland said not sure if he wanted to reveal that he had a boyfriend to Norway because Norway could be a right pain in the ass and he would be more if he found out that Iceland was dating someone. Norway eventually let him go after minutes of silence.
When Iceland got into his room he got a text message from Hong Kong. Iceland couldn't remember when he gave him his phone number but he didn't dwell on it too much and he smiled.
