I haven't sat down to read fic in a very, very long time. Even after finishing this fic, I only just realized that there are two prequels that i will be reading possibly tomorrow.I really loved this fic. the characterisation of sunny&basil is really good and brought the interactions alive. initially, I was skeptical as I didnt enjoy post good ending fics that much but reading this felt like falling in love with this cast of characters again for the first time.
I came for the sunflower, but the characterisation of aubrey and kim really stood out amongst the rest. I never really enjoyed Kimbrey, so this is probably the first fic to have me invested in this pairing. I really, really liked it, even if I had to infer their history quite a bit( this is a fault on my end, cuz I hadn't realised that there wete two prequel fics)
I really liked sunny and basil's argument on the rooftop and the fallout of that also impacting aubrey and kim.
one complaint (that I have with myself) is that it was hard to comprehend or visualise the narrative location (is this the word? maybe its setting or backdrop) and situation at points of the fic. at certain points I knew what the characters were doing but not where & why or if it was happening within the same timeframe as the last paragraph (once again I think this is a skill issue on my end. i'll re-read again and update this bookmark.)

10/10 fic, I will reread this over and over again. this revived my love for this fandom
