Her diaper was clean. She had been fed less than an hour ago. He had wrapped her carefully in the blanket Gina bought months before her due date. He had carried her around the living room until his arms ached. He had spoken softly, awkwardly, tiredly, because apparently babies liked hearing voices.
Nothing worked as Gen kept crying.
Or Stanley is trying his best, but it feels like it's not enough. And that statement solidified when he did something unimaginable, even if it was unintentional.
