It was evening time at Hollow Stalls, the store had long closed, and Phoebe was watching rice boil as dawn had just finished cooking the chilli. The rice was close to being done; there was no water visible, but it was still bubbling, the rice wasn’t fully cooked yet. Loud knocking could be heard from downstairs in the store, and Phoebe was confused.
“Huh, who could be knocking at this hour?” Phoebe said to themselves.
Phoebe soon rushed downstairs to answer the door.
When Phoebe made it downstairs, she floated in place and gasped. A blue portal was opening in front of the door, and out stepped Nerva. Phoebe hadn’t thought Nerva would be the one to answer the door, as it seemed so unlike them. She floated in silence as she watched Nerva open the door.
Two people entered the building, one was a boy who was 6’1ft in height, had black hair, and wore a casual outfit, and next to him was a girl with white wings and long ginger hair wearing a more formal outfit.
Phoebe floated over to Nerva and asked.
“Who are these people? “
Nerva said, “They’re my friends, Mina and Kenny, and they’re staying for dinner “
Kenny waved at Phoebe and said, “Hey! What’s up!”
And Mina awkwardly waved as well, saying, “Greetings “
“Nerva, you never invite anyone ever!” Phoebe said as she stared at Kenny and Mina.
“Well, I need someone to play-test the game I’m working on”, Nerva said in a dry tone.
Phoebe said, “You could have asked me!”
Nerva responded with “You're terrible at video games, Phoebe.”
Dawn soon came in with her phone in hand and showed it to Kenny and Mina. Kenny laughed while Mina attempted to look away.
Dawn said, “Here’s a photo of Nerva when they were three, covered in mud! They rolled around in a mud puddle even though I said not to. “
Nerva shouted, “Mum! Stop showing people that photo!”
Dawn responded with “But come on, it's a great picture!”
Nerva retorted with “but not when you show it to everyone “
Dawn said, “Alright, I got it out of my system. I’ll stop showing photos “
Phoebe soon chimed in with “I’m hungry, can we eat now?”
Dawn then said, “crap the rice almost forgot about that, let's go to the kitchen”
They all headed upstairs and into the kitchen.
When they are all upstairs and in the kitchen kenny says, “Hey, Nerva, can I have a glass of water?”
Nerva responds with “sure one water coming right up “
Nerva walks over to the sink and grabs a glass from the kitchen cupboard. They then pour Kenny a drink. When they were done Nerva turned around and tripped over the water spilling out of the glass.
The water begins to fall down, but before it can hit the bottom, the water freezes in place as Kenny is the one to stop the water, his hand outstretched forward “That was a close call”
Kenny then moved his hand in a forward motion, and the water went back into the cup.
Phoebe lets out an excited squeal at seeing this and rushes over to Kenny's side. She said, “Kenny! Did you just do wand less magic??? How on earth is that possible! And what spell did you use? Was it levitation? Oooo, can you do other spells without a wand? Tell me! Tell me, come on I’m dying to know”
“Whoa, settle down! To answer your question, yes, I kinda did magic without a wand. You see, I am a demigod and was born with a specific set of powers”
Phoebe then asked, “You're a demigod? Whose your godly parent then?”
Kenny then responded with “Poseidon is my father, and I was not using levitation, I was using hydrokinesis”
Phoebe then said, “Wow, that is so cool! So do you have lots of powers?”
Kenny said, “Only two other powers: the ability to breathe underwater and heal while underwater”
phoebe said “so self healing thats awesome! “
Phoebe then asked, “How many demigods are there? And do you get special training?”
Kenny let out a chuckle, and he said, “There are a lot of demigods, too many to count, and yes, we go to a dedicated school for demigods”
Phoebe then turned to Mina and asked, “Are you a demigod as well, Mina?”
mina then responded with “yes, I am a demigod”, she said
Phoebe soon went “ooo, whose your godly parent then? It has to be someone who gave you those wings”
Mina responded with “My mother is Nike.”
Phoebe then asks, “Nike, that's so cool, so do you have any powers other than the wings?”
Mina then added, “I do not wish to discuss my powers with you. I prefer to keep them to myself”
Phoebe replied with “Ah…. Alright”
“Dinner is ready”, Dawn says as she has plated everyone’s food. They were all going to be eating chilli con carne. Phoebe sat at the far end of the table, while Nerva sat at the opposite side. Dawn sat at the table, and so did Kenny and Mina. Phoebe began to eat her food.
They all eventually finished their dinner, and Nerva took the plates and put them in the dishwasher. Nerva then turned around and said
“Mina and Kenny wanna go play my game now?”
Kenny soon said, “Sure, I am up for that!”
And Mina responded with “Alright, we'd better head to your bedroom then”
then Kenny Mina and Nerva all left to Nerva’s bedroom
Nerva enters their bedroom and heads over to their desk. They power on their desktop computer, and soon the screen on the computer turns on. The desktop photo is of Sonic the Hedgehog, who is running through a field.
Nerva opens up unity and launches the project they were working on. Soon after compiling the project, opens the main menu scene. The game is called Demon Chasers, and Nerva begins to explain how to play.
“So you play as a demon, you can choose which character to pick. It's a platformer game where you race to collect enough soul points, and the person with the most soul points wins “
Kenny nods his head and grabs one of the Xbox 360 controllers from the nearest desk.
Mina picks up an Xbox 360 controller, and Nerva picks up theirs
Nerva then presses play on the screen, and they all begin to play the game
After many rounds of the game, it was Mina who kept winning. They were ahead of the curve, always finding ways to win. Nerva came second, and Kenny came third.
“I win again”, Mina says triumphantly.
Kenny goes, “Not again, another loss “
Mina then said, “You’d be better if you didn’t stop to look around in every level”
Kenny then responded with “but you gotta admire the view”
Nerva then said, “Want to play another round?”
Both Kenny and Mina went, “Sure!”
