ＡＵ ＥＸＰＬＡＮＡＴＩＯＮ ：
Jake dropped out of high school a year before graduation (junior year) to pursue his music career. Due to his rare voice, he gained popularity quickly. Two albums later, he began getting sponsorship deals and cast for commercials. He began going on tour, selling out all over the world as his music gained more and more traction. Drew and Jake were never friends. Instead, Jake bumped into Zander and Hailey, and quickly became friends. He was one of the ogs in the music club. The rest of high school goes with the canonical plot (minus anything dromies related). Meanwhile, Drew stayed in the comfort of his little friend group (Henry, Liam, Lia, Zoey). Yes, Droey did happen. But when Drew realized he was gay, he decided he would rather tell her early instead of keeping her to himself selfishly. In this AU, Drew is not rich, therefore Zoey is 𝗡𝗢𝗧 a gold digger. She accepted him and, although it did hurt her, they mutually decided to stay friends. Over time, it felt more normal again. Drew met Hailey from a cafe. Hailey gave up music after the competition, instead working as a barista at a local Rosemeadow coffee shop. The same one Drew was trying after Henry kept pushing him to. They became close after just one conversation, and over time they became inseparable.
