Work Text:

Lucy is quiet as she slides into bed. Shes quiet as she settles against Tim’s chest. She starts talking a little more but the imagine of Nyla and her family is still in her mind.

She wants that.

She wants a family. She wants someone to come home to every time. Maybe more than one. She has Tim and she is forever grateful for him. She is grateful that he greeted her with open arms. The way he didn’t want to let go of her even for a second. The way he buried his face into her hair and breathed her in like she was going to disappear.

But she wants more than that, she wants a little baby who runs into her arms. She wants Tim by her side of course. She hasn’t felt this way with anyone else.

Because she wants this with Tim. One day. She wants a family, kids and everything in between.

With Tim.

“Hey,” Tim says pressing a kiss to the side of her head. “What’s going on?”

“Do you want kids?” She blurts out. “I mean one day.” Tim looks at her curiously probably wondering where this came from.

“Yes.” He says after a few moments of silence. “I do.”

“With me?” She asks. It’s a silly question, they have talked about kids, grandkids before. They even discussed baby names. She is pretty sure her future with Tim is solid. It’s the foundation of what’s to come. But she just wants to make sure.

“Yes.” Tim says. “Only you. What’s going on?” Lucy sucks in a breath, and then lets it out.

“I don’t know. I saw Nyla with James and Leah. It was so sweet. I want that.” Lucy says softly. “I want to come home to you and our baby.”

“You want to continue going undercover?” Tim asks and he sounds hesitant like he doesn’t quite agree.

“No not necessarily,” Lucy says because being away from Tim was torture. She couldn’t imagine being away from Tim and their child. “It was just—I don’t know.”

“Are you ready to have a baby?” Tim asks and he moves some hair out of her face. “Because you are the only one I want to have a family with.”

“No. Not yet.” Lucy says. “I mean I want to eventually. But we just got back together. I just moved in. I want a little more time with just me and you.”

“I agree.” Tim says and then he puts a hand on her cheek. “We are on the same page right?”

“Yes.” Lucy says. “I want it all. Babies. Marriage maybe not in that order.” A tiny smile appears on Tim’s face.

“Yeah?”

“Yes.” Lucy says. “We haven’t really talked about this have we?” She puts her hand on his chest.

“No.” Tim says. “I mean before we were just getting started. We didn’t know where we were going.”

“But now?”

“Now,” Tim says. He reaches down for her hand. “Now I see the future and you are it. I want that too. With you.”

Lucy smiles and leans in to kiss him. She feels a little better now that she knows Tim wants everything she does.

With her.

The image of Nyla and her family are still in her mind though. She knows she’s going to get that.

In the future.

With Tim.

And she is perfectly okay with that.

Lucy is in a nursery, the walls are painted a soft pink. She walks over to the crib that is against the wall.

She looks down and sees a beautiful baby girl sleeping peacefully. She reaches down to kiss the baby. She does and the baby doesn’t stir.

She’s perfect.

She feels a hand on her back and sees Tim behind her. “That’s our baby.” He whispers. She nods and leans back into him.

Their baby.

Their daughter.

Perfect.

Lucy wakes up and looks around. Tim is still asleep and she studies him for a few minutes. His face is relaxed and soft.

He’s perfect. She reaches out to trace his jawline. She missed this the last 4 weeks. She missed waking up next to her boyfriend. She leans over to press a kiss to his cheek. He stirs and opens his eyes.

“Good morning.” He says his voice sleepy. Lucy smiles at him, and she is so grateful she is the one gets to see him this way. Soft and sleepy. Loving and barely awake yet.

“I just had the best dream.” She says softly. “We had a baby girl. She was perfect.”

“Oh?”

“And beautiful.” Lucy says because she doesn’t know how else to describe it. “Just amazing.”

“Like you.” Tim says. Lucy smiles at him. “Our kids will be amazing and beautiful.”

Lucy nods in agreement and she can’t wait to see her future with Tim play out. She can’t wait to have that future with Tim.

Their life.

Their babies.

It was all there.

And they would get there eventually, and she couldn’t wait to get there.

Their future was looking very bright.
