When Tom Riddle made a deal with an unassuming rich kid named Alphard Black on his first day of school, he hadn't expected to become involved in the politics of the wizarding world-which, combined with the impending Muggle war, the spy at Hogwarts, and his odd Transfiguration teacher whose relationship with Grindelwald ran deeper than imaginable, meant that his first year was quite a busy one.
