Summary
Somewhere in his coughing fit he fell to his knees, lacking the strength to remain standing. Pantalone spits out blood before anything else; the flowers soon follow. The pain in his lungs and throat override every other sense. It feels like someone is pushing down on his head, as his eyes see blurry, and his chest raises up and down rapidly.
As soon as the coughing noises lessen, Dottore’s voice is there to fill in. “I will perform the surgery on you, Feofan,” he declares, as if it’s his choice to make.
Pantalone has yet another illness, and Dottore wishes to help before even knowing what he’s dealing with. Pantalone takes issue with that.
