   Javier stared at him, then shook his head. “That’s it. Go sleep on the couch.”

   Micah changed his attitude instantly within seconds, and the change appeared almost comical if Javier didn’t feel annoyed at him.

   The smug look melted into something softer, pleading, as he reached out and caught Javier’s wrist.

   “C’mon, Javier, baby, don’t be like that,” Micah practically whined, voice dropping into a low, sweet tone he knew worked way too well on Javier. “I was just messing around… you know I get bored.”

   Javier paused, immediately hating how easily he could fold when Micah got like this. All clingy and lovey, all fake and innocent and soft… It was just manipulation, pure and simple. But fuck, it worked.
