Chapter Text
POINT BLANK
“What you pursue will be yours, but you will lose something dear.” - Reeve Tuesti
Summary:
Lyra Harker has spent years hiding confidential Wutai work behind travel pieces, tourist chatter, and a camera full of harmless looking landscape shots. She is good at being overlooked. Good enough, at least, until Rufus Shinra himself catches her surveilling a restricted facility near Junon and decides she has potential that stalls her instant erasure.
Shortly after, he runs into her again. What follows is not recruitment, but thinly veiled blackmail delivered in corporate polish. A mission, a deadline, and a door left open both ways for reasons neither of them should trust. Rufus knows she is a security risk. Lyra knows he can end her with a phone call. Neither of them backs away.

Author’s Notes:
- Giving this a teen rating for now. Should my thirst or bloodlust escalate; I might raise the rating to mature.
- Rufus Shinra is likely written closer to his Japanese (and Advent Children/On the Way to A Smile/The Kids are not alright) than his English characterization, which sounds a bit different to me. That's meant to say expect cold pragmatism over bantery swagger.
- I’m aiming to wrap this up within circa. 10 chapters if all goes well.
- Em dashes indicate unfinished dialogue/interjections. This is NOT written by AI but by my own fingers.
