Chapter Text
'4:50 pm' at that time House was at the bar, drunk as usual. 'Oi!' House exclaimed towards the bartender 'another round and im out of here' house fidgeted with his pocket, cane leaning on the counter of the bar, after squirming his hands inside his pocket, he managed to yank out his motorcycle keys, not soon later the bartender took his keys since well House was drunk, the bartender supposedly 'stole' the keys according to drunk House, 'you're not leaving anywhere, take a taxi or the bus for gods sake!' House as grumpy as he always is whether drunk or not, was considering using his cane to jingle the keys out of the guys hands. The bartender tossed him an old Nokia, the type of phone that look like they haven't been used in ages.
.
.
The key pad was all dusty and it took a good 3 minutes to remove all the excess dust, shortly after House dialed Wilson's number, the phone picked up and House expected Wilson to answer, "Hey Wilson! Pick me up, bartender won't let me go hom-" House couldn't finish the sentence until he heard a voice, not Wilson, Female?, it was Amber, "House? Are you drunk? Wilson's on call, im going to pick you up, just stay where you are", House looked at the phone surprised, he thought Wilson was at home with or without Amber, well not today house.
.
.
When Amber came, House saw her blonde, tall figure, brownish coat and red scarf. "Let's go House" Amber nudged his shoulder, House stared at her unwillingly, demanding the bartender for another drink, he turned to Amber and questioned her "what would pass a woman? Cosmopolitan? I saw Wilson giving you cranberry juice" Amber rethinked her decision whether coming to fetch House was really a good idea or the worst one she has ever made other than trying out for the diagnostic team and getting fired. "Fine-, she pointed a finger at him, "after this you leave voluntarily", after not long the bartender soon slid house and amber a bourbon and a Cosmo, Amber looked at House dumbfounded, "if you won't drink it, ill drink both" House groused while sipping the last bit of his drink. Amber followed too, finishing her drink in one sip, "done, let's go" stubborn House wouldn't let Amber off the hook that easily so he insisted for another drink again "Oi! One more" Amber was already just fed up, again she tried to grab House's arm towards the exit, House was obviously more heavier than her so he gained an advantage of not leaving that quickly, he soon took one sip of his drink, finishing his in less than 10 seconds.
.
.
He was now fully drunk at this rate, he fumbled his way over the exit, Amber quickly following and moving one arm of House's around her neck, "House wait-!" Amber stammered. From behind, the bartender yelled out "You're Not leaving, without paying for these!" Amber glanced behind and left house outside the bar and quickly went to pay the bartender, House took the bus instead, sitting at the window seat, Amber came holding his cane "you forgot this" she handed it to him, House took it from her, smirking, "yeah yeah, very funny" He didnt even know what he was talking about, Amber chuckled and sat on the opposite side of House, he was near the door so he could easily go home without being behind or delayed by a few minutes.
.
.
The bus started running, House fumbled with his pocket and took out his vicodin, Amber side eyed him, he soon then opened the cap surprisingly easily than before, he popped one or maybe two pills to satisfy and block the pain, being drunk wasn't that mute but atleast it was something, house asked amber "you did this for me or wilson", amber smiled "im doing this for wilson, he's on call don't you know that?" House raised his eyebrow, "all i know he's treating and crying next to cancer patients, he had a stage II thymoma patient, ain't it?" Amber chuckled "wilson's really predictive" her smile slowly faded and she turned to House, who was also doing the same, "why are you drunk here anyway?" Before House could even admit, BOOM!!!!
.
.
The bus had collided with a truck, more of a garbage truck from the size. Passengers were sent flying out of their seats, the seat belts were no katch for the force of the collision, it was strong, strong enough for alot of casualties, House was more critical, he was sitting right next to the window where the garbage truck had collided with. His liver probably couldn't handle the vicodin and the interference. All the passengers were sent flying at the roof of the celling, house cane thumped at the roof too, glass shards were sent flying at every direction. The shards sharp enough to pierce steel.
.
.
Amber saw House and reached out her hand to grab his so the both of them could atleast stay together, fate didnt have it their way, you could see the drivers hands swaying side to side, head bobbing, the bus was flipped! House managed to grab Amber's hand but suddenly another collision came their way sending half of the passengers on the right side flying to the back of the bus, a car had been blocking the buses way, Amber and House got separated.
.
.
After an eternity, half of the passengers gained their consciousness, Amber saw House blacked out, his back slumped against one of the chairs, House was trying to fight off the feeling of sleeping and never waking up again, Amber crawled to his side, "im c-cold" House whispered, Amber could practically feel houses body and shoulders shaking from the cold, "stay with me, House" the scarf that amber brought, the red one drapped around her neck was finally put to use, she carefully wrapped it around House's bad leg, ouch!, House yelped in pain but there was nothing he could do, he and Amber was in a critical life and death situation. He saw how close Amber was slowly blinking, amber carefully drapped and tightened his leg, the bus pole had somehow pierced his thigh muscle. Amber soon then lost her grip on the scarf and slowly closed her eyes and rested herself on the hard metallic roof of the bus. House's eyes started to blur, you could just see is small pixielated lights, the passengers voices started to drown out, sirens blaring, lights shining, house could see Amber's fingers twitching by the minute. Signalling she was still conscious, after what felt like an eternity, House's eyes started to droop and close, the last thing he ever saw was amber being helped out by the Paramedics.
