"Alrighty, since Chico doesn't want us to steal his snacks anymore, we have to resort to the kitchen." Dj said with a fake sense of pride. She spred her arms wide, the grey-scale kitchen being presented.
A long sigh came from another member of the group. "I will admit, nothing in here is going to taste as good as whatever Chico has." Mars admitted. Dj chuckled softly, finding it rather funny that even Mars would steal from Chico. Just proves how skilled that Chicken is when it comes to picking out treats.
And then there was Lunar, their tag-along. He followed behind the other two animatronics leisurely as he admired the monochrome kitchen. "Seems fazbear spent all their budget on the attractions when it came to color." He pointed out.
Mars nodded, speeding his steps to catch up to dj. Lunar did the opposite. He slowed and dragged his hands along the metal kitchen counters. They sent a chill down each joint of his fingers.
There were plenty of cabinets under the counters, but when he opened them, no food was underneath. "Wheres all the food at?!" Lunar called out, shutting a cabinet door a little too loudly. With a cough, Mars responded.
"Well its definitely not there." He gestured at Lunar, who was now crouched on the floor. "There's probably some food in a pantry or freezer, but I wouldn't count on it being flavorful."
Lunar groaned, rolling his eyes. With a huff, he lifted himself off the ground. He dusted off his knees and stood on the very tip of his toes to get a better look of the place. His optics widened when he saw exactly what Mars was talking about.
A refrigerator. A very large refrigerator.
It was sleek and made out of solid metal. The door had a small latch on it, flat enough that it basically stuck to the side of the metal door. Though, that was all Lunar could see so he ran closer. He could feel his imaginary stomach grumble with the excitement to obtain food. Yeah, he was this desperate.
Just like he did with the countertops, Lunar caressed his fingers across the metal. However, he was taken back by how much more chilling this surface was. He removed his hand as fast as he placed it there.
"Hey Mars! Is this what you were talking about?" Despite the previous feelings he got, Lunar touched its cold walls with a knock this time.
Not only Mars looked over, but Dj too. Lunar could tell that his friends were also suprised at the massive sight of this refrigerator. "Oh wow" Mars muttered out, only conforming Lunar's thoughts. The red bot placed his hands on metal, only for him to have the exact same adverse reaction. Cold. It was cold.
It looked like Mars was thinking for a bit. His eyes became glossy for but a moment until he returned. "There's a handle there...I say we check out whats inside." All thats thinking for the most obvious of answers.
"I'm down." Dj responded, flipping her hair off of her shoulder. She was the first one to grab the handle of the refrigerator door and it made sense. She was the strongest out of all of them. Though when it snapped open with rather ease, they questioned how heavy the metal door truly was. Clearly it didn't function like a vault and more like a regular freezer. "Well that was disappointing" She pointed out, crossing her arms.
Behind the metal walls was a bland old refrigerator, just with bigger shelves. It was like an over glorified walk in closet, but for crappy fazbear food. The only stark difference was of course...the temperature. It was much more freezing than what their hands could feel on the outside walls. Without even being inside, the three were hit with a wave of dry coldness that made their metal shrivel.
To absolutely no one's suprise, Lunar was the first to jump in, almost slipping on the metal floors. Luckily he grabbed a near shelf. Unlucky for him, it felt like he grabbed onto an icicle. "Oh jeez..." He exasperated, letting go and finding his balance on his own. "It feels like I'm in Antarctica." The small bot joked.
More skeptical, Mars stepped in. He wasn't a fan of the drastic temperature drop, almost even stepping out at one point. But it was curiosity that got to him. Mats peered around looking at all of ghe mystery meat being stored on these shelves.
Dj silently stepped inside, chilling her hand as she rested it on a nearby wall. Then, she slapped her cold hand onto Mars' shoulder making him jump from the suprise. "What was that for!?" Mars yelped. He had to fix his glasses as they almost slipped right off his face.
"I thought it would be funny." Dj responded still laughing from her little prank.
Mars cleared his throught, petty from what his friend had pulled on him. He moved past it and got back to the initial struggle at hand. Everyone's food cravings.
"What are we even looking for in here?" He paused. "Cookies, cake....mystery meat?" Mars approached a shelf that was housing some weird pink substance that almost resembled a grey color. He felt himself gag under his breath. "Yeah, that doesn't even look edible."
"I would not put that in my mouth." The spider animatronic peered from behind Mars, matching his disgust. She gentle tapped the weird meat, only for it to crumble like a rock. "That...thing...is something we need to get away from. Besides, im kinda chilly in here." Dj made a walk for the door and Mars went shortly after her.
They made sure to close the door, trapping all of that treacherous cold inside of the refrigerators hard and thick walls. Dj made sure it was locked tight, latching the handle down until her fingers couldn't bend anymore. And shortly after, they walked away, exploring dryer and warmer areas of the kitchen. Mars hoped that they would possibly find a pantry and Dj agreed.
"Hey guys!" Lunar grabbed a small container of a rock solid beige substance directly off of a shelf that was just above his reach. He looked inside and identified the mixed in components. "I think this is cookie dough. It looks like it has chocolate in it." He turned around, the small container still in his hands. However, his friends were no longer there.
He initial thought it was some sort of prank. "Dj, I over heard what you did to Mars and uhhh if you're behind me somehow, getting ready to slap me..." Lunar turned his back again. Neither Dj or Mars were there.
The small container of frozen cookie dough was placed back where he found it. Lunar stepped out into the center of the freezer, really taking in his surrounding. "Guys?" He was more confused than anything.
Lunar felt a different chill go down his spine, his heart dropping to his empty stomach. He swiftly ran to the door, only to notice there wasn't a handle on the inside like there was on the outside. In a hurry, he felt around all the cracks of the door, his fingers getting colder as he did so. "Dj? Mars?" He quietly called out. "If this is some joke, it isn't funny...!" Lunar could hear his own voice crack.
With his already cold hands, he wrapped them around himself, rubbing into his barley warmer shirt. "MARS! DJ!" Lunar yelled, full on yelled only to be repulsed at the sound of his own voice ringing off the metals walls. When he breathed in, he choked on the freezing cold air that was plunging his systems. Despite that, Lunar began to hyperventilate.
"No, you guys have to be out there...!" He ran back to the door once more. Lunar took his metal to the metal of the door, banging on it as hard as he could. "Guys!" He smacked that door until his hands grew numb from the pain and cold. Lunar couldn't knock any more, but he could scratch.
Lunar buckled down from the weight of his own body in such freezing temperatures, landing on his knees with his head hitting the door. His fingers began to feel raw as he clawed and scratched at the door. Breathing picked up and his yelling slowed down. All he could focus on was how cold he was. Lunars systems told him he needed more air so he breathed harder and harder and harder until his heating system turned on.
"T-thats...good" he muttered feeling a slight sense of joy return to him. Sometimes he forgets he has mechanics in his body that are made fo self regulate, and the intense cold definitely is something he needs his body to keep him safe from.
Feeling the heat power through his body, he gave a couple more assertive knocks only to hear no reply. The panic began to come back. "That's...not good."
He tried to stand, using the heat from his body as an extra source of power and once he did stand, his knees popped under the colds pressure. Lunar tried to stay upright, though he couldn't help but loose balance.
The cold metal floors could've moved away from under him with the way he hit the ground. Lunar's back pelted into the floor, his clothes being the only thing that separated him from the collision. He tried to catch himself, but he failed. Lunar felt the hard cracking all the way from his lower back to his very own motherboard.
Just as quickly as his head hit the floor, his heating system began to falter until it powered off completely.
Lunar whimpered as tears pricked at the corners of his eyes. The wet feeling was sharp, like the stabbing of ice. His breathing got fast before it wasn't anymore. It became slow as his systems realized there wasn't a need for an egregious amount of air intake. Lunars optics welled and blurred as he lied unwilling to move on the ground. 'I can't handle this.'
Lunar was still shivering, which even suprised him. He lifted a shaking hand to his eyes, wiping away as much of his unintentional crying as he could. His optics were able to focus again for a short time. Lunar noticed a small dial like thingy on the wall. He squinted, feeling weak from the cold and sharp pain being plugged into his back. The device read -30 degrees Fahrenheit, about -34 in Celsius. Lunar couldn't believe his own eyes at those numbers.
He squinted again, trying to get a better look which was hard with how hazy his eyes were. "I thlin- " He began to slur his words until the lights cut him off. They decided to cut themselves off, leaving the refrigerator in a state of pitch black.
"Hrghhhg nooo... lightsss, come b-back." Lunar flipped himself onto his side, almost slipping back down from his intense shivering. He groaned as he felt the weight of his presumably damaged back. It ached and burnt. Burnt like hell itself.
This freezer was burning him, and Lunar didn’t understand why.
As he was on his knees, the cold was given a new entry point into his body. The dainty fabric of his pants did nothing to keep him warm. His hands were firm on the ground, practically digging into the ice covered floors with his shaking. "I- I can't....see" choking on his own words.
All he could do was feel, and the more he couldn't see, the more he felt like the walls were closing in on him. Lunar reached in front of him just for nothing to be there. He tried to remember the surrounding before he was clouded with panic and before the room was shredded in darkness.
He piloted his hand slightly to the left, knocking into a cold metal bar. It was part of a shelf. Lunar latched onto it, despite it's cold wetness shocking him. Against it's slippery friction-less surface, he pulled himself off the ground. It gave him just enough stability to do so. However, as Lunar stood, the soreness in his back only made him feel weaker. He moaned at the pain gently.
His gloves began to get moist as the melting ice from the shelves metal seeped into them. Water began to trickle through each fiber, covering his palms. Lunar pulled his hat down, getting a small amount of cold water dragged across his faceplate.
Lunar grabbed further along the shelves edge, moving around aimlessly. Once he could tell he was standing directly in front of an entire shelving rack, he put more of his weight on it...which wasn't much, but it did do some good to please his aching body.
Air escaped his non existent lungs with a couple of huffs. Lunar's eyes squinted at the darkness. The black stateless visuals in front of him, and all around him, seemed to have colors dancing in them. He focused in and out, squinting further in curiosity. He lightly removed one of his hands from the shelf, feeling his own face to make sure he was still there.
Vertically crawling against the walls and shelves, Lunar found his way around the refrigerator. He counted the walls the best he could, but of course he already knew there were four. He was on the third when he felt something. His wet hands grazed it as they patted the freezing wall. It had a different texture than anything he'd felt for the last thirty minutes. "Rubbery.." Lunar mumbled as he wrapped his hands around it, joints delicate from the cold.
"Is this...." A lever. Lunar paused at his realization. The colors still swirled in the air as if they were begging him not to go. Head over heart, Lunar attempted to pull down. He knew that this could get him out. Why else would there be a lever in here?
Well, he tugged high above his head, both hands firmly around the rubber covered lever. Lunat pulled, even trying to use his full body as a weight to pull it down. Yet, it didn’t budge. It wouldn't budge.
His fingers felt loose with every pull, like a strange tingling that felt wrong. Lunar whined at the tensing sensations of his joints. "Hrngg...mphh-" He let go. Not like there was much more ge could strangle.
Lunar's knees began to weaken again, his optics getting drowsy. He followed the walls of the refrigerator back to the door, giving it the best knock he could. His knuckles cried at him to stop, but Lunar knocked again. He turned his hands for the inner side to do the hitting. It hurt less, but the sound wasn't any louder.
"Mars....Dj..." Lunar slowed. "Anyone...?" His voice slurred as it cooed. His metal joints, already stiff, continued to dig at the metal. Small flakes of frost fell and melted from the door onto his hands. Lunar's faceplate tightened with his sniveling. Each movement he made caused his body to tense.
He had already accepted his fate in the freezer and yet he still cried out. "They'll come back...." Lunar muttered, not knowing when.
With a slow drag, he removed his hand off of the refrigerator door. He scooted back towards a corner of the cold room he was trapped in. Lunar could barly crawl, but he made it work. The ice squeaked under his foot as he curled into a ball. With the little strength he had left, Lunar pulled his hat down to cover his eyes. Before he knew it, those same eyes couldn't even comprehend what was around them.
Night had wondered down to the Fazbear kitchen being bored out of his mind. He found it enjoyable to be alone in the darker more decrepit places of the Plex. Like a guilty pleasure. His hand caressed the cold metal countertops before he sat ontop of them. Night crossed his legs and fell soundly into his own thoughts.
His eyes could only close for a moment as soon he heard shouting. Worried voices and scared footsteps sprinting down a nearby hall.
"Lunar?!" Dj yelled, busting through the red doors right beside Night. Mars was short to follow, his glasses practically already off of his face by how they were hanging. "Where is he, its been three hours...!" She called out, speaking to herself in a panicked fluster.
The Moon model was taken back by their stressed behavior. He titled his head, stopping them right in their tracks. Before Night could even get an understanding of why they were so panicked, Mars began muttering out a story.
"W-we came here earlier, me and Dj came here with Lunar. We wanted to find food and when we got back to our rooms, Lunar just wasn't with us! I- we thought he went back to his room, but he wasn’t there a-a-and we've checked everywhere! Now we cant find him and it's been three hours..." Mars abruptly paused his fast speaking to glance at Dj and then back at Night. "Have you seen him?"
Night looked at his surroundings and shook his head, feeling bad that he couldn't help. With the way Mars and Dj became more worried with his response, he couldn't help but feel anxious back. Night got up from his seat on the counter and waiting for them to make another move. He was focused and Mars picked up on that.
"This is the only place we haven't checked and its the last spot we saw him...."Dj grasped at her hair with a saddened frustration. "If hes not here, we have no clue where he could be."
They all ran around the place, checking cabinets and even the strangely placed catwalk above the kitchen. Mars looked down on the metallic room from the catwalk, motherboard in a total panic. Thats when his optics drifted and noticed the industrial refrigerator that was tucked in a quiet corner of the kitchen.
"Wait!" He hustled down the dinky metal stairs that lead back down to the kitchen floors. "Check the freezer!" Mars huffed and pointed. Night was closest, so he did what Mars asked and ran to open the door.
Once it open, he was hit with a gust of freezing air. Night's fingers quivered from just grabbing the handle. He stepped inside, the cold not stopping his desperation.
Night's eyes widened in shock when he saw Lunar. With all the information Mars had told him and the visuals standing right in front of him, Night practically launched himself onto his knees. He crouched over Lunar, grabbing the smaller bots body with his slightly warmer hands. His hand swiftly drifted over Lunars body, feeling the temperatures of different places. Cold, no, freezing was all he could feel.
Lunar's eyes were open, but wide would be an overstatement. He looked as if he could barly keep himself powered on. His eyes were hazy and his face wasn't strong enough to formulate any expressions. Night attempted to get him more awake, but all he got was a weak and subtle groan.
Mars and Dj followed behind him to see what was taking so long, and their worst thought came to life as soon as they too stepped into the refrigerator. Dj audibly gasped at the sight of Night picking up Lunar's almost unconscious body. Night held him cradled in his arms with his poncho now on Lunar.
"...he was in here for three hours..." Mars mumbled, guilt settling into him. Night nodded in a reserved fashion, tightening his grip around Lunar. "...oh god..."
"Well we shouldn't just stand here?!" Dj gestured to the open door that was spilling out cold air. "Let's get him out of here and warm him up...!" She was the first to run out, followed by Night and lastly Mars.
Night got away from the industrial refrigerator and Mars slammed it's door all the way shut. He made sure to lock it tightly.
Across the room, Night clutched Lunar as Dj crouched besides them. Their optics rendered as worried. Mars approached them with a similarly painted face. They watched at Lunars body shuddered and curled into Night for warmth. The small bots knees tucked into his chest and his fists balled around Night's poncho. Lunar nuzzled his head against Night's chest weakly as he was reintroduced to heat.
"Its good that hes not..." Mars paused. "Dead...Its good that hes not dead." He clutched his sides.
Night wrapped his arms around Lunar, rubbing his back softly as he delivered friction to the deprived animatronic. He was suprised to find Lunar in freezer, let alone knowing that he was locked in there for three hours. Night's eyes narrowed at the other two individuals beside him. He specifically locked eyes on Mars who visually appeared more guilty out of the two. Mars blinked and avoided contact a couple of times as ge realized why Night was staring at him.
He tried to find his words, but his tounge seemed dry and his throat was empty. "Im so sorry..." Mars muttered out and Night could swear he saw tears welling in the others eyes.
"Hey," Dj placed her hand on Mars shoulder, gathering his attention. "Its both of our faults, and we are going to apologize to Lunar, but right now we should stay calm and make sure hes okay."
Mars nodded, turning his attention back to Lunar. Shaky, he layed in Night's lap, warmth slowly returning to his body. Night observed him, how he shivered, the weakness of his whimpers, and his face which was returning to a fearful state. His hands were soft around Lunar and hd pulled him in closer. Night moved to to caress his faceplate, feeling the whine as it escaped Lunar.
Everyone sat around and waited for Lunar to speak...respond...anything, but he didn't. He remained frozen and shivering in Night's lap. "Maybe we should bring him back to his room...get him comfortable." Mars requested, and while Night could agree that Lunar was quite comfortable where he was, he still wanted to make sure Lunar was properly heated up. Night nodded, standing up.
On their way back to Daycare Lane, Mars called Earth to tell her that they had found Lunar. She was relieved and asked for an explanation fo which Mars said he'd rather explain in person.
The sliding door to Lunar's room opened and Night was quick to set Lunar on his couch and wrap him in the nearest blanket. He left Lunar cozy on the couch as he approached Mars and Dj. Night fluttered his hand slowly as a sign for them to leave. "Okay, but if anything seems broken or damaged, take him to Parts and Services so we can get it fixed quickly." Mars said as he glanced at Lunar, who curled into a blanket limply.
Night nodded, making a mental note to check Lunar for any damages. As the door made its soft closing click, Night turned back to Lunar. He sat down on the couch next to him, holding him close by his side with his arm wrapped around his figure. Up and down his hand slid along Lunar's side. He felt the shivering form of Lunar through the blanket he was wrapped in.
'Oh right-! Check for damages' Night reminded himself. He unwrapped the blanket and surprisingly Lunar had a good enough grasp to attempt to keep it close to him. Night was grateful some of Lunar's dexterity was returning which was a sign that the colds effects were wearing off. Lunar whimpered as his blanket was pulled away, causing him to latch harder onto Night's poncho. He felt comfort wearing a peice of Night's wardrobe, not wanting to let go.
Unlucky for Lunar, when Night had reached for his hands, he felt the freezing water that was seeping onto the poncho from his gloves. Night grabbed Lunar's dainty hands and Lunar let him. A frown creeped its way onto Night's face as he held Lunar's freezing cold hands. He had no choice but to grab the edge of Lunar's gloves and pull them off entirely.
The smaller bot groaned at the feeling of his already cold hands being exposed to the open air. His eyes were still fuzzy, but he knew he was rescued and he knew who was sitting on the couch right besides him. Lunar gently smiled at Night, still to cold and too weak to respond on words. Night's face flushed when he noticed Lunars cute expression.
He held onto Lunar's hands with his warmer ones, pressing into them gently to transfer the heat. Night moved closer to Lunar, pulling their hands closer to his mouth. He used air from his internal heater to warm Lunar's hands up, as those were probably the coldest part of his body.
"Mmmhrmm-..." Lunar moaned, happy to feel real heat against his body. The blanket felt nice of course, but he still felt chilly. His entire body began to get more power slowly circulating through it. Slowly, and yet it made Lunar feel so much better.
Once Night ensured that Lunar's hands were no longer wet and cold, he moved to checking the back of his head. He lifted Lunar up, holding him against his own chest. Night pulled Lunar's hat upwards to see his motherboard. Immediately, Night spotted a peice of machinery that was shattered and cracked. It was Lunar's self heater. All of it made even more sense now.
Lunar whimpered as Night grazed the damaged area. "Oww..." He murmured. Night put Lunar's hat back to where it most comfortable for the other. Night didn't set Lunar down however, he continued to hold on. His hands pressed softly down on Lunars back, rubbing it while Lunar adjusted to the soreness.
Night had pulled Lunar off of his chest just to get a better look at his face plate. Thats when he was suprised by Lunar, who limply reached up to grab his faceplate. His still slightly cold periwinkle hands cupped Night's face so softly and he could feel that blushy sensation arriving once more.
"T-thank you..." Lunar's voice cracked as it spoke for ghe first time in three hours. A very terrifying three hours. "I-I thought I was g-gonna die in there." His voice shivered like it was still littered with fear even though his face clearly displayed a smile. Tears began to fall down Lunar's face. "Thank...you."
As Night looked away, all flustered from Lunars gratitude, a sudden movement caught his robotic brain like a flash. Lunar had pressed his lips against Night's. Holding them there for as long as both of them saw fit. Night melted at the feeling of Lunar kissing him, not to mention the way Lunar fell to hold Night. Lunar wrapped his short arms around the others neck, prolonging their indulgent actions.
Lunar separated from Night, much to his own torment. Night could sense the longing from Lunar, so he returned the favor by grabbing Lunar's face and pulling him in for one more kiss. It was shorter but they were satisfied.
As they looked into each other's brightly colored eyes, something was sure between them. They'd be appreciating each other for a much longer time.
"Thank you." Lunar's words were clear and Night heard them beautifully.
