Chapter Text
This was just another day at Beacon Hills high school in Northern California. The school for the supernatural, the normies and the below average.
Most of the students who attended weren’t aware of the fact they lived in a supernatural town, or that they went to a school where most of the supernatural events took place.
This school to most is just a place where kids spend hours of their boring lives suffering for seven hours, and to others it was a supernatural’s playground, others being Scott McCall and his pack.
Stiles, despite being a part of Scott’s back and the boy's best friend, did not enjoy going to school everyday.
Stiles wasn't like Lydia, the beautiful strawberry blonde who was also a genius at everything she did. Strategy, English, math and science were basically just tools in her stylish back pocket.
And he definitely wasn't like Allison, the new girl with a quickly growing popularity for her good looks and bright mind. She was skilled in the art of archery and overall decision making.
Stiles wasn't even like Isacc who used to be in Derek’s pack. The boy was sharp tongued and had a look for…well Stiles didn't exactly know, he wasn't exactly buddy-Buddy with the guy, actually he still disliked the guy, maybe even with a mild loathing.
Stiles was like…well a hyperactive dog. Always following never followed, always yammering about the next big supernatural case and strategy on how to bust them.
Often he was seen as eccentric in his theories but in the end everyone followed because they knew the boy's plans always worked in the end even if they were messy.
But this isn’t an overlook on everyone's character, this is another day at Beacon Hills high school…
The time was 7:50 am, and Stiles walked in alone today. Today Scott had overslept and Stiles had no patience to wait for the slumbering boy. He knew how Scott could get if he didn’t get his beauty sleep.
Plus he just didn’t have the energy to talk yet, he had no Advil, no coffee and no will to drag himself to first period.
He ran his fingers through his slightly outgrown buzz cut and used the other hand to try and fail twice before opening his locker and blindly grabbing stuff out as the halls and lights buzzed around him.
The next thing he knew he was in first period, managing to beat the bell despite walking his way to class at below one mile and hour.
He slumped in a desk in the back of the room and waited for class to start and his happiness to end.
As Stiles sat in his desk waiting for the bell Scoot walked in through the open door, talking to some kid Stiles didn’t care to remember the name of before waving and walking over like a dork as if this were still middle school and he was the kid who had his mommie pack his lunch.
“Hey dude” was the greeting Scott offered as he pulled out his note book and pencil, ready to learn, “dude” was all Stiles muttered in return before flopping his almost bald head on his desk.
Scott lifted a bushy brown before asking, “ what’s up with you?” The boy asked bluntly, "didn't get any sleep,” Stiles muttered gruffly against the desk before pulling his head back up and somehow looking worse .
“Dude you look like shit” said Scott with a little smirk,
“I know, I was up all night snooping through my dads latest cases, and get this it was allll- for nothing, there's no murders not even a mugging, when did Beacon and hills get boring again?” Stiles complained almost comically.
“You're complaining that the town isn't for once being under attack?” Scott asked sarcastically, tilting his head slightly as he looked at the tired boy.
“Yes! Well…no still yes, school is insufferable and so is this town” Stiles managed to complain right before the bell let out an ear piercing ring, or what seemed that loud to Stiles.
Scott just shrugged and turned back to face the rest of the class, pencil in hand. Stiles knew that Scott had been trying to pull himself together but it was almost summer and it’s not like sitting up straighter and putting up a geeky front was going to save the dudes grades.
Stiles just decided to day dream all of class, propping his head up on his hand and staring off at the random “inspirational” posters around the room.
“A fixed mind is a trapped mind”
“Shower your brain with facts and wisdom like you would a water a plant”
“ Be kind always” and other dumb crap like that. Stiles thought about everything and nothing while trapped in class for around an hour before the merciful sound of the bell snapped him out of his endless thoughts.
Scott packed up his belongings by Stiles’ side as Stiles picked up his things and stood waiting for his friend.
By this time Stiles had a lot more energy as he and Scott walked the halls back to their lockers but Scott had to take a piss break so he parted with his friend and went to a nearby bathroom.
Stiles stood by the door, not wanting to go inside the germ infested room more than he needed too so he decided to wait.
While Stiles waited for Scott he overheard two kids from his math class talking about a new student, this grabbed Stiles' hyperactive focus.
He listened on and picked up bits of information, wishing he had Scott’s enhanced hearing.
He overheard that the kid was from England, but which part? He wasn’t sure.
Stiles also heard that the kid would be starting within the week, most likely tomorrow. He thought this was interesting, maybe it was just the spice he was looking for to stir his boring pot, or it’d be the next big threat he and his friends would have to face…
