Work Text:
The sun was beaming across the city, and people across town were walking, enjoying the scenery.
Ryan was speed walking, looking at the crumpled piece of paper where he had written down all his errands for the day before heading back home. Suddenly, something caught his eye, a place.
More specifically a flower shop with bright colorful flowers that surrounded the place beautifully.
With careful thinking, he decided there were errands to wait for as he entered your store.
“Welcome!” You chirped, focusing on a rose bouquet of flowers making sure it was perfect for your client, “Just— give me a moment!” You said your tongue was sticking out ever so slightly while you were focused.
Ryan looked at your focus mesmerizing how beautiful you were, almost like you were a siren pulling him towards you.
You were truly beautiful, it was breathtaking.
“Alright! How can I help you!” You said, turning your head towards him, with a bright smile across your face. You had some smudges of dirt on your face and your white apron. Ryan smiled back, his cheeks all rosy, “Oh I’m just snooping around— you have something on your face..” Ryan commented.
You moved your palm towards your face, trying to remove the smudge, which you failed, “Did I get it?” You tilted your head curiously like a puppy.
He shook his head, “Nah, here lemme get it for you.” Ryan inched closer, his hands cupping your face as his thumb removed the dirt smudge on your face.
It felt like a romance movie from how close he was, how the yellowish orange sun shone through the window hitting his face so right he looked like an angel.
“I’m Ryan.” He said in a soft tone smiling at you softly, his hand still cupping your face, “Y/N…” You muttered still so hypnotized with his facial features, “Y/N… that’s a cute name, it fits you.” Did he just call you cute? You face heated up making Ryan chuckle
Ryan backed up, removing his arm from your face, “Well, I have to go run my errands.. Y/N, I’ll see you later.” He said before heading towards the door. You nodded, giving a slight wave of goodbye.
…
It had been a few days the sun was setting when you were already in the shop, tending to your flowers and the bouquet request you had recently gotten. Ryan had visited you here and then while you guys talked when the shop was relatively empty.
Suddenly you heard the creek and soft chimes that came through the door.
“O-oh! The store isn’t open yet…” Your eyes widened, it was Ryan with his bed head looking so beautiful even though he looked so tired.
“Hey, Y/N I-I uhm brought you food, I noticed you don’t really eat a lot especially if you’re super focused.”
You smiled softly grabbing a small sandwich wrap, “Thanks, Ry. I’ll eat it later. I'm not really hungry right now.” You said to place the wrap down on the counter.
Even though it’s been a few days Ryan has truly understood you, and even some small habits of yours you never knew, “Hey Y/N? What’s your favorite flower?” You hummed giving a moment to really think about it
Although you owned a flower shop, you never truly thought about it even though you were surrounded by flowers almost every single second of the day, “Well… I guess they have to be (your favorite flower).” Ryan nodded like he was taking a mental note of it.
“Alright, well I have to go, sorry Y/N, Bren is blowing up my phone since practice is soon.” You knew about his band. Sometimes he invited you to come to their practices but you never really got the chance to go since you were so busy with your shop, most of the band knew you, or at least heard Ryan talk about you and you knew about them.
Just, well never really talked to them personally.
…
Months had passed by now, and the closer you had gotten to Ryan. The more you realized you had feelings for Ryan as well.
Every accidental brush against his hand made your face all red in embarrassment, you slowly started to realize how you’d get lost in his eyes or even your guys’ conversation to the point your surroundings didn’t even seem important anymore, at least not as much as Ryan talking even if it was something dumb.
It was a random Wednesday, the soft chimes from the door echoed through the shop while you were cleaning up the store before heading out to your apartment in your cozy bed.
Your head popped out of the back of the store, the sun set behind Ryan, his hands behind his back like a child who did something that might get them in trouble. You raised an eyebrow suspiciously walking towards the counter, leaning away the pearly white top of the counter, your chin resting on your palm.
“Why are you here sir?” You said teasingly.
Ryan smiled slightly, his cheeks were rosy, one of his hands scratched the back of his neck, “Well, I wanted to give you these…” He said as he revealed what he was holding on his other hand that was hidden behind his back… It was your favorite flowers perfectly arranged even though it was slightly messy it gave it personality!!
Your eyes lit up looking at them, slowly you lifted your head up in awe, “Ry? You did this for me?” Your eyes started to tear up in the corner of your eyes. Ryan nodded, smiling nervously.
“Y-yea, I wanted to make these personally because I like you Y/N, I liked you from the first time we met but I was too afraid to ask you— and well, I thought it was the best time now to confess how I felt towards you.” He confessed, his head looking towards the floor like he was already for you to reject him.
Your eyes softened, cupping his cheeks to make him look at you with his big brown puppy eyes, “I like you dummy, I always had. God— it’s so dumb how we both liked each other for so long yet we both didn’t confess.” You chuckled, kissing his soft pink lips passionately. Ryan eyes widened at first before relaxing and wrapping his arms around your waist, his hand still holding on to the flowers.
