Work Text:
Well. His uncle hadn’t really been helpful, only telling him to run away (as if he had a chance).
And what would be the use of going to the airport with the hope to somehow land exactly where Ilay was when he had probably travelled too ?
Thus, Taeui took once again the phone in the hotel lobby and dialed another number. One he had used an awful lot in the last few days despite not being in the UNHRDO anymore.
He sighed as the phone rang in his ear, already feeling tired because of the conversation to come.
No one answered.
He tried again, but there was still no answer.
Was this bastard ignoring him, now ?
He typed the number again with probably more force than necessary, and called.
This time, someone picked up the phone.
Except the person on the other end didn’t say anything to signal it.
Only one person would be impolite enough to do that.
‘‘Ilay.’’
The other man sucked in a breath. ‘‘Taeui. Are you trying to taunt me ? You really think I will let you run away ? You’re mine. You don’t-’’, Ilay’s almost small voice had become much louder, his tone furious if not downright murderous.
‘‘What the fuck are you talking about ?’’, he cut him in a harsh tone, irritation having built up as he listened to the taller man spouting bullshit.
‘‘What-’’
‘‘I was calling you so I could ask you where you were to join you, you fucker.’’
Ilay didn’t answer.
‘‘Well ?’’
‘‘Don't move.’’
‘‘And how would that be helpful ? I could just join you halfway, you bastard.’’ The insults almost worked as punctuation at that point, that part of the sentence definitely necessary for him to let go of some of his frustration.
‘‘No need, I'm coming for you, so don’t move. Stay where you are.’’
He really didn’t need to make it sound like a threat.
‘’Don't you need to know where I am ?’’
‘‘No. Don't move.’’
He sighed in annoyance. ‘‘No need to repeat yourself, I understood the first time.’’
‘‘Taeui-’’
He didn’t let himself listen to the rest of the sentence, simply hanging up. He had heard enough of that bullshit and would rather rest a bit before dealing with the other man in person.
He thanked the staff as they gave him back his card, and walked towards the sofa.
He sat down on the couch, letting his head fall back and letting his bag fall to the floor with a soft sound.
He closed his eyes and simply breathed in and out. He had almost forgotten about it with the stress of the phone calls, but now that he had time to rest, the effects of the drug Xinlu had administered him (again) could be felt.
Forcing himself to breath deeply didn’t really help with the tiredness but he felt way less dizzy.
He didn’t really notice himself falling under sleep’s spell and even less being moved.
The room in which he woke up was dark and all he could make out was the shape of a man sitting beside him.
He got up, leaning on his elbows and squinting to try to identify the person. ‘‘Who-’’
A hand came in his field of vision, instantly reassuring him as he recognized it.
He let himself fall back on the mattress with a relieved sigh, his eyes closing as tiredness still clung to him.
‘‘Were you expecting someone else ?’’, the other man asked, a touch of annoyance recognizable in his voice, that apparently didn’t stop him from softly caressing Taeui’s hair.
Taeui let out a pleased hum, the touch registering before the words.
And when they did, ‘‘You tell me.’’, he snarked. ‘‘I am currently a wanted terrorist and fell asleep in a public hotel lobby. I also happen to be often targeted because of my relationships and was recently drugged by someone who kidnapped me.’’
Having made his point, he stopped talking, basking in the calm atmosphere after the eventful last few days.
But they weren’t safe yet.
He got up, mindful not to be too abrupt in his movements and keeping a serious face as he silently mourned the loss of the soft caress.
‘‘What are we going to do now ?’’
Ilay seemed to freeze at that.
‘‘Ilay ?’’
The widened eyes crinkled in something akin to delight. ‘‘You really wanted to come back to me.’’
Well, that’s what he had said over the phone, yes. He just hadn’t expected it would be a surprise for the other.
The other man chuckled despite the lack of a verbal response and took one of Taeui’s hands to bring it to his lips.
Taeui watched, his face red, as Ilay slowly came nearer, kissing his way up Taeui’s arm only to stop at his sleeve and raising his head, his lips almost against Taeui’s.
‘‘Do you like me ?’’, Taeui blurted out. He blinked, surprised by his own lack of brain to mouth filter, before lowering his gaze to look at the bed. ‘‘You didn’t answer last time.’’, he resumed, his voice much softer as doubt started eating at him.
The phone had been taken from his hand before he could hear the other’s answer.
But maybe was it for the best. He wasn’t really keen on being rejected or told ‘I love you now spread your legs’ again.
A hand caressing his face broke him out of his thoughts, making him raise his gaze to meet the other’s.
He blinked multiple times, trying to make sens of the uncharacteristically soft look.
‘‘All I know…’’ He stopped talking, looking pensive, and nodded. ‘‘Yes, you’re mine.’’
He blinked. Again. ‘‘That doesn’t really answer my question.’’, he mumbled.
But Ilay was done, and without further ado, kissed him.
Taeui let him, only pushing on the other’s shoulders when Ilay moved to straddle his legs.
‘‘I think it would be better to focus on planning our next course of action.’’, he justified, trying to lessen the other’s annoyance.
Ilay sighed, eyebrows still furrowed, and sat back on his heels.
‘‘I’ll find us a safe place.’’, he stated.
A nice thought really. ‘‘Does a place like that even exist ?’’
‘‘I’ll make one for you if necessary.’’, he answered without missing a beat.
The words took some time before he registered them, but when he did, he felt his face instantly warm up.
Unsurprisingly, Ilay taking his clothed nipple in his mouth didn’t help at all.
‘‘Ilay-’’, he squeaked out, trying to object.
‘‘It can wait. I thought you were trying to run away from me again. I almost made a mistake.’’
His somber tone didn’t leave any room for doubt on what he meant by that.
‘‘I told you I would come back. I just needed to make sure Hyung would be safe first.’’, he explained, confused.
Ilay froze, staring at Taeui with a frown. ‘‘I didn’t hear you.’’
It was Taeui’s turn to frown. ‘‘Really ? Well there was a lot of noise…’’, he answered, but it was pointless since the silver-haired man didn’t seem to have heard him, still frowning.
After a few seconds, he seemed to come to a conclusion, his expression breaking out in a bright smile. ‘‘I’ll just compensate by making sure I can hear you scream my name.’’
—————
While still making true on his promise, Ilay had been surprisingly gentle, using lube and properly preparing him.
So yes, it had hurt a bit less than if he had just shoved it in him.
But he was still unable to walk. Even after sleeping for nine hours.
A fact that had led him to his current situation, with him leaning against Ilay’s torso in a bath.
Someone kill him.
Because if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, Ilay had even decided to clean Taeui up himself.
Really, fuck his life.
—————
They ended up staying one more night in the Hotel, Ilay having practically thrown him on the bed before laying on him when Taeui mentioned that, maybe, they should start getting worried about the whole ‘terrorist situation’.
The next morning they were woken up by Ilay’s phone ringing. Something Ilay dutifully ignored four times before finally deigning grabbing it and answering.
‘‘What do you want.’’
However, he didn’t move from where he was laying on Taeui’s chest, which allowed him to hear the other person on the call.
‘‘How is Taeui ?’’ It was Kyle, who sounded awfully worried for him.
It almost brought tears to Taeui’s eyes.
Ilay sighed. ‘‘He’s fine.’’
Kyle sighed too, although it sounded a lot more like relief instead of the annoyance Ilay was displaying. ‘‘I’m glad. But you two are not safe, are you ?’’
‘‘I’ll handle it.’’
‘‘I knew you’d be difficult. But considering the situation the mansion in Berlin might be one of the safest places at the moment. You should come back.’’
‘‘I don’t want to.’’
This surprised Taeui. It was the first time Ilay had sounded so childish. A pout was even visible on his face.
Never would he have expected Rita to have such an effect on the psychopath.
‘‘Ilay.’’
And Kyle was chiding him now. This was starting to become really fun.
‘‘No-’’
‘‘Are you certain it is safe, Kyle ?’’, Taeui cut him before he went and destroyed Taeui’s only hope at a peaceful life.
This earned him a glare from Ilay.
‘‘Yes, we have guards, security cameras and I decide who enters the property and who doesn’t. You wouldn’t have to worry about anyone coming after you.’’
‘‘I’ll come then. If you’ll let me.’’
He heard Kyle chuckle on the other end of the phone. ‘‘Of course you can. You’re a friend. And it’s Ilay’s fault if you’re in this situation so someone should take responsibility.’’
That made Taeui smile. ‘‘Thank you. Truly.’’
‘‘Of course-’’
‘‘I don’t want to go.’’, Ilay cut his brother, looking Taeui straight in the eyes.
Understanding that he expected an answer from him, Taeui shrugged. ‘‘I guess you can come and visit, then ?’’
‘‘Yes, the doors will always be open for you if you change your mind.’’, Kyle acquiesced.
Ilay abruptly hung up, looking pissed, before trying to break Taeui’s thoracic cage with a hug.
‘‘Why are you taking your anger out on me ? Is it a bad thing for me to want to be safe ?’’
Ilay immediately let him go as he lifted his head. ‘‘I didn’t-’’, he started, before cutting himself, frowning. ‘‘I can protect you.’’
Taeui snorted. ‘‘First off, fuck you, I can take care of myself. Second, I don’t want to always be on the run, trying to escape everyone that wants my head.’’ He stared at Ilay. ‘‘Is it that difficult to accept ?’’
Ilay frowned, still staring at Taeui.
Then, he sighed. ‘‘I’ll come too.’’
Taeui nodded, letting himself fall back on the bed.
And blinked.
‘‘Wait what about the UNHRDO ?’’
‘‘I resigned.’’
…
‘‘It’s my fault, isn’t it ?’’
Ilay only stared at him with the most deadpan look known to man.
Taeui sighed. ‘‘I’ll take responsibility and try to take care of you to the best of my abilities then.’’
That made Ilay blink, in something close to shock.
And suddenly, he started laughing.
It was loud, shameless and so so happy.
He hated to admit it but it made his heart flutter as a smile made its way to his face in reaction.
Ilay noticed it, of course.
Not wanting the bastard to make a smartass comment, Taeui gave him a peck on the lips.
It had the wanted effect, but not only. Ilay’s eyes crinkled even more, his smile becoming wider.
Boy, he was so fucked.
—————
For two terrorists supposed to be in hiding, it had been surprisingly easy to take a taxi and pass all the customs at the airport.
Now all they had to do was wait about an hour to get on the plane. So, technically, the easy part.
Except Ilay had gone to the toilets 20 minutes ago and had yet to come back.
And there weren’t many explanations possible : he was either lost (Taeui snorted at the thought of Ilay using Google Maps to find his way in the airport) or had been identified and was currently killing his assailants.
A bit worried by that last thought, Taeui got up, grabbing their bags, and made his way to the toilets.
Ilay’s voice reached his hear right before he could reach the corner that led to the restroom.
‘‘I won’t repeat myself twice, I’ll stop working for a while so don’t count on me for the next contracts.’’
Taeui blinked.
‘‘…Seriously ?’’, he whispered.
Was that the reason Ilay had ‘gone to the toilets’ ? To ensure Taeui would actually take responsibility and take care of Ilay ?
This was so stupid.
And yet so much like Ilay.
He sighed as he turned around, making his way back to the waiting room.
On his way, he noticed a drink dispenser that sold beers and just bought one. It would be necessary to deal with the other asshole.
When Ilay came back, he shot a glance at the can before looking up to smile innocently at Taeui.
—————
Kyle had been nice enough to send them a chauffeur so they wouldn’t be worried about being arrested the moment they set foot on German soil.
This made the trip back to the mansion much easier and less stressful, which he was thankful for.
The issue was that, instead of focusing on the road, the driver kept stealing glances at them, that Taeui knew were bewildered even though they were hidden behind solar glasses. Not that he could blame him. After all, considering how Ilay was, Taeui couldn’t really blame him for being so surprised at the sight of Ilay smiling with his head on Taeui’s shoulder.
Something Taeui had already told him to stop, because there was no way this was confortable and Ilay wouldn’t end up with a sore neck. Especially considering their height difference.
Ilay had of course ignored him and spent the whole flight and now the drive too in this position.
At least Taeui had tried.
—————
When they arrived at the estate, Kyle, Peter and Rita were waiting for them outside the mansion, all looking somewhat relieved when he stepped out of the car, uninjured. Kyle even went as far as hugging him when Taeui arrived at his level. Peter hadn’t moved, but sent him a bright smile.
As for Rita, she glared at them both before turning back to go take care of her duties.
Seeing that reaction, Taeui had almost felt guilty for imposing himself again, until Rita arrived at dinner with only Korean dishes.
He almost cried and hugged her.
But knowing that she wasn’t big on displays of affection, he simply thanked her warmly.
In the months that followed, Taeui did his best to earn his stay, always helping Peter and Rita around the estate, or even Kyle, when he seemed very desperate.
Ilay, although he had stopped working outside of the mansion, also helped with Kyle’s paperwork. That, of course, only happened when he believed that Taeui wasn’t paying him enough attention because of said paperwork.
Their relationship had, in the meantime, evolved. Becoming what Taeui would call more stable, or even peaceful.
Ilay still had a terrifying libido, but they more often than not, ended up simply cuddling on a couch or their shared bed.
Taeui hadn’t really been at ease at first, often squirming in discomfort when they were lying together. But little by little, he found himself seeking Ilay’s company, which usually meant joining him in his study and sitting on the couch to work.
Ilay always came to cuddle with a frustrated sigh after a while, leaving the documents on his desk.
The most he had managed to keep working after Taeui joined him in the study was 34 minutes and 56 seconds.
Taeui had timed it.
