Work Text:
Cold. Why was it so cold? Usually his body ran hot, he was never freezing. Trying to take a breath and suddenly his lungs were freezing. He couldn't breathe. Was he drowning?
He started to thrash, trying to find the way out. He felt a hand plunge in with him. The collar of his jacket was grabbed and he was hauled out, onto solid ground.
He coughed and sputtered, icy water splattering on the ground beneath him. His brother made a noise he couldn't place, growling, "I expected you to be more careful than that, Dante. You're lucky I'm here."
