Regret wasn't an emotion he was familiar with. He hadn't done much in his life that he regretted. But as Mundus picked him apart and put him back together wrong, Vergil found himself regretting his decision to exile himself to the underworld.
He regretted how arrogant he had been. He regretted how foolish he had been. But most of all he regretted losing to the likes of Mundus.
Another spike tore through him, making him scream. He could barely see past the pain and blood in his eyes. Mundus laughed.
Vergil wasn't going to die here. He would survive this.
