Work Text:

Early in the morning, Jacinthe strolled through her estate, intending to take a look at her beautiful garden before having to hole herself up in her study for hours. Today would be a busy paperwork day.

Lebanne was expected to have woken up about three hours ago, but seeing her door shut, Jacinthe assumed that was not the case. Now that they were dating, however, Jacinthe could let this slip this one time, because Lebanne was usually never late. Though the possibility of using it as an excuse for punishment was not lost on her.

Jacinthe wondered where her maids and staff had disappeared off to. There was none of them to be found in the corridors, or none whom she could see downstairs. Quite the weird morning.

When Jacinthe did get to her garden, she saw all of her maids gathered around a particular spot, near the orchard. There was something big behind them, but Jacinthe couldn’t quite tell what it was. Confused, she called out to them. “All of you, what seems to be the-”

The staff made way for Jacinthe, and therefore, the visage of what they were gathered around.

“Oh shit!” She shrieked with her delicate, high voice, taking several steps back.

The gathered maids looked at Jacinthe with surprise in their eyes.

“I-I mean… dear me…” The Lady considered how much time she had been spending with Lebanne.

The sight warranted that reaction, though.

It was no other than Xerneas, one of the Legendary Pokémon of Kalos.

The God of Life.

Standing there in Jacinthe's garden.

Right by the side of her Anistar-stone-made sculpture made to celebrate her and Lebanne, too.

The massive mythical creature soon spotted Jacinthe, their eyes flashing with the light of divine acknowledgement. Slowly, it rose to its long, blade-like feet, and started taking several cautious, relaxed, curious steps towards her.

Jacinthe continued to take a few steps back. The creature was beautiful, and it was also a divine deity she had never heard of other people encountering after Team Flare had disbanded. “H-How could this be…?”

It was unbelievable.

“How… How long have they been here?” Jacinthe asked one of the maids

“We're not sure, Lady Jacinthe. They were already here when we woke up. We’re at a complete loss.” The maid bowed, apologetic. “ What… shall we do?”

“Alert Lebanne, wake her up.” Jacinthe said, anxious. That was the first thing in her mind. If not for a solution, then simply for comfort.

“Actually, Lady Jacinthe,” The maid uttered with concern. “Ms.Lebanne hasn’t left her room all day, we tried to knock, but she begged us to not open the door when she heard us approaching. We were about to inform you that something might be amiss… Before uh, Xerneas showed up.”

“What!?” Now that sounded concerning. “I’ll go get her myself, then!”

Jacinthe speedwalked decisive steps up the stairs and into Lebanne’s chambers, just to be completely safe, Jacinthe knocked first. “Lebanne? Is everything alright with you, dear? I… have a little situation in my hands. I’m also worried about you to be honest.”

“Lady Jacinthe,” Lebanne spoke in a very low tone, barely audible through the door. “I’m in quite the… situation myself. I’m not sure if I’m able to move right now.”

She sounded scared.

Jacinthe frowned as she opened Lebanne’s door, thinking she might’ve hurt herself. . “Alright, I’m coming in, goodness, Lebanne, what could you possibly be dealing wi-”

Jacinthe had her air sucked off of her lungs with the scene she was presented with.

Lebanne was still on her bed, not even close to being dressed up for work. and facing her, a dark, red, overwhelming presence, claws poised and scratching Jacinthe’s floor.

The creature barely fit in Lebanne’s large room, still, it glared down at her, with Lebanne refusing to break eye contact. Presumably for hours.

“...Yveltal, the famed God of death?” Lebanne said, grimacing and still staring them in the eyes, only quickly side-eyeing her Lady. “They were here when I opened my eyes. I’m sorry I haven’t gotten up to work, my Lady, I’m kind of trying to stay alive here...”

“Goodness that's-” Jacinthe's words got caught up on her throat. “That’s worse! What is happening!?

“Worse…?” Lebanne said through clenched teeth. “Worse than wh-”

On Lebanne’s second side-eye to Jacinthe, she finally fully turned to her Lady and stumbled out of bed, breaking eye contact with Yveltal. *WHAT THE-!?”

“Wh-what?” Feeling a sudden presence, Jacinthe turned around to see the giant deer closer than arm's length. She slipped herself and hit her butt on the ground. “AH-!”

Jacinthe yelled, not taking her eyes off of the legendary “Lebanne!?”. She wasn't asking for Lebanne's help right at this moment, mostly because she could tell by the noise that her stumbling had caused Lebanne to fall to the side of her bed.

“What is it… my Lady?” Lebanne said from her side of the door.

Jacinthe tried to swallow in a dry throat.

“I think we have a problem in our hands.”

“Why would you call the Rust Syndicate for such a thing? Has it occurred to you that this might be interfering in our schedule?” Philippe questioned as he followed Jacinthe through her state, alongside Corbeau.

“It’s fine, Philippe. If she’s lying, that is but another opportunity for me to formally challenge her without all the tournament bullshit.” Corbeau soothed his henchman, hanging on to his patience for dear life.

“I just didn’t know who else to call! You guys solve problems, don’t you?” Jacinthe said, at her wits end. “Besides, Mr.Corbeau, I believe we have quite the friendship.

“Friendship-!?” Corbeau was going to explode, a vein popping on his head at the mere idea of it. “Fine. Whatever, where are they?”

“I, uh… I told them to stay there in the gardens, with Lebanne. I am hoping they did, since Lebanne was there…”

“Princess, if this is one more of your ‘Turnoi’ tricks…” Corbeau threatened, unimpressed.

“I wish it so,” Jacinthe said… “The whole situation is…”

Before stepping into the light of the garden, Corbeau stopped on his tracks. He could see exactly as advertised. A very awkward Lebanne, standing right in between Xerneas, the God of Life, and Yveltal, the God of Death. The latter of which held a passive stance.

“Philippe,” Corbeau said in a perfectly calm voice, his eyelids almost relaxed. “Be ready to carry me back home in case I have an aneurysm.”

Phillipe nodded. “Ready, Mr.Corbeau,”

Corbeau turned to Jacinthe and the lines on his face morphed into anger. “What did you do!?

“Mr.Corbeau, I am offended!” Jacinthe said, puffing her cheeks. “Do you really think I'd have some sort of scheme to run with these beautiful creatures?”

All the way back in the garden, Lebanne roared as she made her classic pose. “Oi, watch it, tiny! Don't you accuse my woman of no- what…?”

Lebanne was kept from continuing her sentence when the enormous bird started crawling ahead of her. One giant, heavy claw after another killed all the grass in its path.

A stalker, a predator, yet… Unlike anything.

The mood in the air changed when it started crawling towards Corbeau.

“Hey… hey…” Corbeau started to back away as Philippe readily got his hand on a PokeBall from his pocket, protectively standing in front of Corbeau “Call it off!”

“Murdering the Boss on your estate will not be good for publicity, Ms.Jacinthe.” Phillipe said. “The Rust Syndicate won’t forget this, either.”

“Yes, yes, I'm sure she knows!” Corbeau said, forced to ignore the implications of an assassination attempt. “But I'm still alive and I'd like to stay that way!”

Jacinthe was at a loss, nervous, looking from side to side as she saw Yveltal go past her. She considered picking up a Pokéball and starting a battle when-

“Stop!” Lebanne came running and yelled.

The towering, relentless, Legendary predator looming over Corbeau and Phillipe…

Stopped.

Soon, that murderous shine in their eye went away as it sat back down again, like any other Pokémon.

“Wait… what? I didn't think that would work.” Lebanne said, astonished. “How did this work? Yveltal, are you… listening to me?”

Yveltal glanced back at her, with zero violence written in its stark blue eyes.

“I'll be damned.” Corbeau said, adjusting his tie. “Phillipe, there's no need to fight. It seems like these two… can control them, somehow.”

Listening to the sound of his own words, Corbeau quickly walked that thought back, his expression changing. “No, no. This can't be. It's unprecedented!”

“Mr.Corbeau, if I may ask…” Phillipe interjected. “Share your thoughts with us.”

“It's one thing to control a pseudo-legendary. Or even a Mythical. But this…?” Corbeau gestures towards the legendary “This is the damn reaper. Something serious is going on here.

“Oh dear,” Jacinthe looked up towards Xerneas. “Is that true? Does this mean you’ll listen to me, then?”

Xerneas just looked at her. Their eyes didn't deny it.

“See…” Jacinthe gestures towards Yveltal’s trail of dead grass and plants and then looks at Xerneas again. “Your friend slayed my vegetation… could you help with that?”

Xerneas walked over to the region where Yveltal had stepped, tapped its long limb twice in that spot, and then lowered its head to kiss it.

Soon, dead grass turned alive. Green, greener than ever. Unique specimens of multicolored flowers started blossoming, even beyond the places Yveltal had touched.

“Oh my!” Jacinthe yelled, her concern now replaced with a smile. “This is just- gorgeous! It's… magnifique!” She crouched to caress the flowers. “Lebanne, dear… this might not be such a problem after all!”

Jacinthe searched for something on her dress. “Dear, have I got the thing for you!” With a smile, she presented Xerneas with a Luxury Ball. She didn’t throw it, rather, she just held it up to them, as a test.

With no hesitation, the deer moved their long neck down and clicked the Pokéball open with their nose. Shining orange energy consuming them and absorbing them inside. The Pokéball didn’t shake as much as a single time.

“Incredible,” Phillipe commented.

“L-Lady Jacinthe!” Lebanne screamed in disbelief. “You just caught-! Alright… uhh… I have to try this!”

The maid got into an attack pose, for no reason other than to be ready to defend against an attack. The massive bird of Death didn’t seem impressed.

“Here goes nothing!” She yelled, throwing a Great Ball at the creature’s head. They didn’t even flinch and just let the blue light capture them. The ball fell to the ground.

Once again, captured. Without shaking once.

“H-Holy shit…” Lebanne went to pick over her Greatball, shaking like a leaf. She swallowed dry. “I just caught the fucking reaper.”

“Language, my dear.” Jacinthe reminded sternly.

Lebanne tried to ignore Jacinthe’s fleeting notions of when it is and isn’t okay to curse.

“But why?” Lebanne scratched her head. “Why… Why us? Why did they come here of all places? No one has ever even seen them since… since always?

“Since Team Flare.” Corbeau corrected, he put his hands on his pockets and turned around with an air of mystery. “Alright, I’ll bite. You didn't hear this from me… but Mable, the professor that replaced Sycamore, might know something or two about it. Keep me updated on your findings and try to not set death itself upon me.”

“I’ll have Lebanne phone you with the details later.” Jacinthe said and looked at an obviously very unwilling Lebanne. “ But my, if you can’t beat Death, you most certainly can’t beat me!” Jacinthe proudly chirped, worries falling aside for a second.

Corbeau was going to angrily say something, but Phillipe put his big hand on his shoulder. So he simply sighed. “Fine.” Corbeau said. “Take care. I’m getting out of here.”

_____________

“YOU HAVE… WHO?” Mable screamed in excitement, hands slapping against her desk and making paper fly around. “Holy crap! That’s… so much potential data!”

“So you do know about our deities?” Jacinthe asked. “Makes sense, what with you being from that uncouth, deranged band of Team Flare…”

“L-Lady Jacinthe… We’re asking for her help here.” Lebanne reminded her. “Also… Griselle and Grisham are also ex-Team Flare members. People can change.”

“...Yes, We’ve brought these guys back some years ago, It’s what got me in this situation. Mable lazily leaned back on her chair again and gestured towards her ankle monitor. “Arceus forbid women do anything.”

“I really wanted to ask you something,” Lebanne said. “Won’t everyone just… stop dying? If I have the reaper themself right here?”

Mable shrugged. “Eh. You can never truly contain these fellas. A part of their energy will always remain on the outside, doing what it was meant to do. Otherwise, the world would just fall apart.”

“Right, right…” Lebanne wasn’t sure she understood, but she kinda did. “So, uh… What did the old Team Flare manage to dig up about those guys?”

“Not much,” Mable shrugged. “But with YOU attracting them back here after we’ve wronged them? Now we have something real here!

Jacinthe was starting to grow impatient. “Which is…?”

“I’m not completely sure. The most basic, cheesy… But most likely theory that I've amassed in my brain…” Mabel hesitated a little to speak. “Is that they were attracted by your… energy.”

“Our… what?” Lebanne tilted her head.

“C-Could you mean our… Love energy!?” Jacinthe smiled widely.

Mable raised both eyebrows. “Actually, yes.”

“Huh!?” Lebanne was more than a little confused.

“Some call it ‘life force’, others call it ‘the soul’, others-others call it ‘general spiritual essence’… Blah, blah blah.” She rolled her eyes. “The point is, all humans exhale some sort of energy simply by existing… and feeling.”

Jacinthe and Lebanne stood speechless, trying to understand what that meant.

“Have you two freaks felt any kind of…” Mabel looked for the words, spinning her hand around as to simulate the gears in her brain. “Intense feelings later? Like really, REALLY strong stuff?”

“O-oh!” Something occurred to Jacinthe.

“You have to be kidding me.” Lebanne said with her jaw dropping.

“There you go.” Mabel said with a crooked toothy grin. “You've got two of the most powerful Pokémon in existence superglued to you.”

“Hmmm, but I'm sure plenty of other people have had strong feelings before… shouldn't all of Lumiose be walking around with legendaries, for example?” Jacinthe wanted to be skeptical before she could relax into the concept.

“It's, ugh-” Mabel grunted with no qualms about rudeness. “It's not everyone. I'm hoping we all acknowledge that Pokémon are much more sensitive than what humans give them credit for. It's got to be huge, and the Pokémon itself has got to connect to you two dorks, on some level.”

As the blue-haired professor pointed to Lebanne and Jacinthe at once, they started thinking about it.

Silently, Jacinthe reached for Lebanne's hands, who held it tightly.

“Lady Jacinthe…”

“Goodness me, Lebanne. Do you really have such a huge, all-encompassing, absolute love for me as to attract such wondrous beasts to us?” Jacinthe gave Lebanne her sultry look of teasing.

“I-I! Of course!” Lebanne said, almost as if justifying herself. “But you know, this goes both ways!”

Mable clicked her tongue, ruining the mood.

“I'd love to watch, really. Sadly, I'm at work. So if you two would get a room…” Mable handwaved them away. “Oh, but! Please please please report your findings back to me! You guys have access to an untapped well of knowledge in these beautiful legendary souls!”

“I’ll have Lebanne write those reports, then,” Jacinthe nodded.

“S-sure…” Lebanne wasn’t happy with more work. Again!?

_____________

Getting back home, Jacinthe and Lebanne wondered what to do, they looked at their respective Pokéballs in their hands. Lebanne wasn’t able to fully relax yet, so instead of the hanging chairs, they both stood at the plush benches of the garden, close to each other.

“It feels like so much responsibility, doesn't it?” Lebanne said, sighing. “I mean, it's cool, but… Like Corbeau said, ‘the damn reaper’.

“What I think is…” Jacinthe spoke slowly and softly. “We should just treat them as big, massively powerful normal Pokémon. Have you ever considered how much exquisite fun we could have, battling alongside them?”

“Whoa,” Lebanne put her free palm out. “You want to use them in battles?

“Why not?” Jacinthe didn't seem bothered in the slightest by the idea.

A testament to her comfort over it was her casually shifting to resting her head on Lebanne's lap. “We've both had a vacant spot in our teams for quite a while. Perhaps this, too, was meant to be.”

“How about Sylveon?” Lebanne asked.

“Hmmm… She was most certainly adorable and extravagant, but somehow, I didn’t feel she was right for me. I’ve let her go, she still comes around every now and then, you know!?”

“Of course she does,” Lebanne said, looking at those purple-orange eyes that held within the depth of the Universe. “Who could ever truly let go of you, my Lady?”

“I know you couldn’t,” Jacinthe teased. “Not even if you wanted to.

Lebanne looked at her girlfriend with boundless love. It felt almost too relaxed for Jacinthe to take this vulnerable position at a bench, where all the staff passing by could see…

They both loved it.

“Maybe… I could see that.” Thinking about the concept of fate in her head, which she had just started to believe, it did make a little more sense…

“And dear, if you would be in the possession of such a unique partner just to box them…”

Lebanne got shivers. She knew that tone well, so she could predict what was coming.

“You'd punish me?” Lebanne asked, afraid.

“Severely, I may add.

“N-Not to worry then! Me and Yveltal will make the perfect partners!” Lebanne gave Jacinthe a thumbs up, with a cold sweat.

In truth, Jacinthe scared her more than Yveltal.

“D-Do you perhaps… want to try them out in battle, my Lady?” Lebanne asked.

“Of course! We shall do that in due time, but for now, I’ve got another idea.” Jacinthe said looking up at Lebanne with an inspired, determined smile

_____________

“S-Slow down, Lady Jacinthe!”

Lebanne’s words were carried by the wind as she held on tightly into the stomach of the smaller woman, the two of them being shaken around on Xerneas’ back, who galloped through waves and waves of vast, wildly-colored fields.

“Enjoy the view, Lebanne! This can be a regular outing idea of ours, you know!? Huuuhuhuu!” Jacinthe yelled in the action and then laughed away. “Xerneas is just tall enough for me!”

“L-Lady Jacinthe, it mustn’t be terribly appropriate to use the legendary Pokémon of life as some sort of Rhyhorn.”

“They’re no Rhyhorn!” Jacinthe yelled, overwhelmed by happiness. “This… this is something else entirely! This is life, honey!”

“Ho…Honey…?” Suddenly, the freakish speed and the dangerous bumps didn’t matter. The flush on the maid’s face was like a cushion to all of her worries.

Of course, of course, they had pet names now. That was natural, right?

“A-Alright, honeyyyy!” Lebanne yelled and held Jacinthe tighter, little hearts floating around her head. It made Jacinthe laugh even louder.

After a good while of riding, yet much faster than any train in Kalos, Jacinthe, Lebanne and Xerneas were in Snowbelle City, of all places.

“Brrrrr!!!” Lebanne shivered on top of the deer and continued to hold into Jacinthe from behind, snuggling her head against Jacinthe’s fluffy hair, seeking warmth. “L-Lady Jacinthe… I know we’ve been talking about traveling before, but… D-Did it need to be Freezing Town?

Jacinthe was not immune to the quivering, she simply acted nonchalant over it. “T-That’s not it, dear. This here is n-not our goal,” She said, and then she softly ran her fingers into Xerneas’ neck, as if to caress it. “Xerneas, my dear… could you please take us to Pokémon Village?”

Xerneas turned to the left and started to walk into a cluster of trees, somehow making their horns intangible as to not tangle up on the branches. The ‘Winding Woods’ were labyrinthic in nature, but Xerneas knew exactly where he was going, as it could be felt in his stance and calmness.

“Pokémon Village?” Lebanne spoke without shivering as the climate suddenly became milder.

“Haven’t you ever heard the stories, dear? Of a hidden village near Snowbelle City… no one knew exactly where it was, but I assume our lively friend here would know of it…”

“Seems like they do, yeah.” Lebanne agreed. “But why do you want to…”

“Ah!”

Soon enough as they came out of the woods, snow had turned into blissful sunlight on their faces. Across them was a large field of yellow flowers sitting atop healthy, green grass. A beautiful small riverbed separated that clearing from beautiful elevations in the distance.

Lebanne was mesmerized. “Wow… This is… this is…”

“Beautiful.” Jacinthe completed her words for her. “But not as beautiful as you, my dear.”

All Lebanne did in this life was blush and love her girlfriend. “T-Thank you, h-honey!”

Xerneas lowered themself so they could step off, and so, they did.

“Ahh…” Jacinthe took a breath of fresh air, filling her lungs with joy. “This is something else! Pokémon living completely undisturbed… just look at them!” Jacinthe said, presenting the flying Jigglypuffs in the distance to Lebanne. It was so funny how they puffed in the air like balloons.

“Well… previously undisturbed, now that we’re here,” Lebanne added, while obviously not wanting to sound like a pessimist.

“No, no, dear. It’s true that this is a place I’ve long yearned to see, but… The main reason I’ve brought us there was Xerneas!”

Lebanne didn’t understand, as shown by her raised brow. “Them? Why-”

“Just watch, my dear.”

Xerneas simply rested in place, legs bending into relaxation as it sat peacefully on the flowerbed. Slowly but surely… A foongus came along.

Then some Gothoritas… Poliwags… Lombres…

Indeed, even some Jigglypuffs had floated over.

All gathered around the deer. Some of them just looked, some of them rested against them.

Lebanne was speechless as to what she was witnessing. This being existed in perfect harmony with nature. She looked at Jacinthe, her Lady being brought to the verge of tears by witnessing such a sight.

Jacinthe turned to her. “I truly love to witness the coexistence of Pokémon in their own environment. Look at how much peace Xerneas brings them. It is the same kind of peace you bring to my own soul.” Through an emotional voice, Jacinthe confessed. “I wanted to show you this as well.”

Lebanne didn’t even know what to say due to her overwhelming joy, so she just silently picked a flower from the ground and put it on Jacinthe’s head as she smiled softly..“Thank you, my beautiful Lady.”

“O-Oh… honey, that’s…” Jacinthe touched the flower. “You’re quite the romantic, aren’t you?”

Lebanne smiled, a smile that turned into surprise when Jacinthe softly leaned against Lebanne until she had pushed the maid into the flowerbed.

Jacinthe then laid on top of her and softly kissed her lips. “Did you think I’d miss the opportunity, my dear?” Jacinthe said, grinning.

“You’re too good to me, my Lady,” Lebanne was overcome with love inside so she wasn’t even sure if her words here accurately communicated what she wanted.

Then, an idea popped in her head. An idea that immediately made her anxious with how much excitement it instilled on her. Fear was gone over the opportunity of accurately communicating her feelings, with actions.

Lebanne hugged Jacinthe and squeezed her against her body.

“You want to stay a little longer in this sanctuary, don’t you?” Jacinthe whispered in her ear.

“Can I be blamed for wanting to keep cuddling with my girlfriend in the tranquility of a flower field?”

“No, no you cannot.” Jacinthe smiled and concluded as she leaned in for another kiss.

They ended up spending the entire afternoon there, hanging out with the wild Pokémon and Xerneas, until sundown came.

_____________

This time, it was Jacinthe who desperately clung to Lebanne’s back, as they soared the night sky on top of Yveltal.

“L-Lebanne!” A slightly upset and panicked Jacinthe yelled, looking down at the tiny, tiny routes of Kalos. “You know I’m no good with heights!”

“Trust me on this!” Lebanne said, her huge smile plastered on her face. “You’re gonna love this!”

“Come on, Yveltal!” Let’s show Lady Jacinthe how fun we are!” Lebanne said, caressing Yveltal’s neck, inspired by Jacinthe’s own doing.

“I-I’m glad you’re trying to not be afraid of them anymore!” Jacinthe yelled, and then she closed her eyes tightly “B-But this is tooo muchh! Lebanne, when we get back I’m going to-”

Now you should look down!” Lebanne yelled.

Jacinthe opened one eye and then the other, trusting Lebanne, and then…

She saw a familiar tree.

“Lebanne! This… Is this L-Laverre!?” Jacinthe started to get desperate. “Are you trying to kill me!? W-We can’t go there! It’s cursed land!”

That’s where Valerie, the fairy gym leader resided. Someone Jacinthe was more than a little irrationally scared towards.

“Well, not anymore, it ain’t!” Lebanne declared proudly with a grin. “I… uh… Yveltal, stop!”

Yveltal did as commanded, stopping with their wings in mid air.

“What- What are you planning?” Jacinthe asked. “H-Honey… I’m truly scared.”

“Don’t be!” Lebanne put her arm back and reached for Jacinthe’s head. “Trust me, you’re going to love this.”

It was hard for Jacinthe not to be soothed by her dragon. “O-Okay… I do believe you could protect me from her… And whatever else… Preferably the floor.” She said, continuing to look down.

“Yveltal, right there!” Lebanne said with fervor as she pointed to an isolated area with no trees, houses or people, still on Laverre’s territory. “I need you to draw… a Jacinthe symbol! I’m visualizing it right now, uh…”

“Oh!?” Jacinthe blushed. “N-no way!”

Lebanne rubbed her temples with her fingers. She hoped the… ‘connection’? She had with Yveltal was enough for them to understand. She quickly pulled up a Pokedex and read the name of the move she had forgotten. “Use… that one, yes! OBLIVION WING!

Just from hearing the concept, Jacinthe was already head over heels. “My love…”

“Y-Your love!?” Once again. More petnames. Lebanne stood flush atop the grim reaper, having to control herself not to jump in excitement, lest she plummets down like an egg. “W-Well! Of course! Anything for you, my lov-

They had barely noticed Yveltal chest glowing a bright red that shone stronger than the sundown of the surrounding clouds.

Then the laser came out.

Yveltal unleashed a blast of dark light so powerful down into Lebanne’s marked area, it made the creature’s body shake crazily. They did have to hold on to them not to fall off!

“HOLY SHITTT!!” Lebanne yelled. “THIS GUY IS AWESOME! WOOOHOOO!”

“L-LEBANNE! LOVE, PLEASE DON’T LET ME FALL!” Jacinthe once again yelled in fear as she held onto Lebanne with all her strength.

“IT’S ALRIGHT, HONEY! IT’S ALRIGHT!!!” Lebanne yelled, helplessly consumed by adrenaline.

Sooner than they expected, it was over.

Through the sizzling mist, they saw it. A huge Jacinthe heart in the middle of Laverre.

“Oh… Oh!” Jacinthe said, looking. “Y-You really did such a thing! Oh! I’m… I’m truly in awe! Trés bien!” Jacinthe chirped happily, overwhelmed. At the same time that her happiness was evident, so was the lack of air in her voice, amazed by so much power.

“Cool, isn’t it? And now we go down! Please, Yveltal!” Lebanne asked, giving the Pokémon soft taps on the back.

Yveltal slowly started to glide down into Laverre, As Lebanne’s braid and Jacinthe’s long hairs became victims of the wind going down, fluttering in the wind once again.

“B-But dear!” Jacinthe said, worried. “If we get much closer, there’s still Valerie!”

Lebanne didn’t blame her girlfriend for her Valerie-phobia. To each their own, and Lebanne would reassure her as much as necessary.

“We made a statement.” Lebanne said, proud. “This is your territory now. It’s a Jacinthe zone!”

“I-Is it really? But if she shows up-!”

Lebanne smiled wide from ear to ear and turned back to Jacinthe. “Then we’ll just kill her!”

“L-LEBANNE!” Jacinthe yelled, almost reprimanding her.

“I’m just kidding, just kidding! Hahaha! Hypothetically, what I mean is, what could she even do against a Pokémon like this? We’re powerful!”

“Dark types are weak to Fairy types, you know?” Jacinthe puffed her cheeks and held Lebanne even tighter.

“And Poison types are strong against Fairy types.” Lebanne said, looking over at the Laverre houses in their descent. “Yet, Corbeau isn’t able to get a single win out of you, is he?”

“Oh, you! That’s because I’m so…”

Seemingly, Jacinthe got lost in her words as she observed Laverre’s gym and its massive, beautiful timekeeper clock.

“Alright Yveltal, our Lady is still a little scared… So let’s just fly around for a little bit, shall we?” Lebanne asked Yveltal, who immediately complied, flying around Laverre.

“What a beautiful city…” Jacinthe swooned.

“You know, you could buy it if you wanted to,” Lebanne suggested playfully. “Kick Valerie out. Turn it into JacintheLand.”

“Goodness, no.” Jacinthe shook her head. “I don’t believe I’ve got it in me to manage something like a town. How would I ever have time for battling then?”

“Well, you know… I’d be right there with you,”

“Hmmm…” Jacinthe snuggled against Lebanne’s back. “This might be a little too endearing for being discussed on the back of Death themself…”

“Nah, I’m sure they don’t mind,” Lebanne smiled and looked down at her newest Pokémon, once again giving supportive taps upon its deadly red neck.

“I am so eager to see how this one does in battle. My own Xerneas, too…”

“We got used to having these Gods around pretty quickly, don’t you think?”

“Oh yes, sure!” Jacinthe chirped as if she had just recalled something. “We sure did. And thank you for taking me here, Lebanne. It was truly a lovely gesture.”

“You’re welcome, my, uh, honey-love!” She replied excitedly, and then pondered. “Probably also a crime, now that I think about it.”

“No matter. Now, we must head back home soon! We’ve got a ceremony to hold!”

Lebanne raised a brow. “Ceremony? What do you- Ooooh!”

Yes, this entire day, they had forgotten about a very important thing in this situation.

_____________

They were back home, at the nightly Jacinthe gardens lit by many yellow-light lamps.

Jacinthe and Lebanne stood with all their Pokémons out.

For Jacinthe, that meant Carbink, Mawile, Aurorus, Gardevoir, Clefable and… Xerneas.

For Lebanne, it meant Noivern, Tyrantrum, Altaria , Garchomp, Dragalge and… Yveltal.

“Alors, everyone! Meet Xerneas!” Jacinthe presented her new Pokémon with splendor. “The God of Life themself!”

All of Jacinthe’s Pokémon stood impressed, as Xerneas softly acknowledged them with a nod. They started to circle them with relaxation and curiosity, much like the Pokémon Village. Clefable raised a paw to them, which Xerneas proceeded to softly ‘Shake’.

“Goodness! You’ll just fit right in!” Jacinthe said, interlacing her fingers with her pleased expression. “We welcome you with open arms!”

Lebanne looked at how successful Xerneas’ initiation was and braced herself for her own.

“Uh… guys, this is Yveltal, the God of Death. They’re a part of the team now.” Lebanne said, making a thumbs up at the reaper. “Don’t be frightened now, he’s super nice!”

To Lebanne’s surprise, her own Pokémon didn’t react much differently in comparison to Jacinthe’s with Xerneas. They circled Yveltal, although not with relaxation, but with acknowledgment and respect of his strength.

Having witnessed Clefable do so mere seconds ago, Dragalge attempted to imitate her gesture towards Yveltal, extending her tail as if it was a hand.

Yveltal looked to Dragalge and then the tail. They raised their massive hand to shave it, and it startled the dragons a little bit. But soon, they saw the mutual respect between the Pokémon, in awe of Yveltal’s size…

“Whew,” Lebanne huffed. “Yes, my deadly protector, the ‘council’ of dragons approves of you!”

“So that’s it then! Now we’ve got wondrous, amazing new Legendary partners with us!” Jacinthe spun around.

“Are you perhaps going to put Xerneas in Le-”

“But of course!” Jacinthe didn’t even let her finish. “My love, what kind of trainer would I be if I didn’t use my marvelous, newly acquired God of Life!?”

“True, true… Just… try to not go too crazy, okay?”

“Did you just give me a command, Lebanne?” Jacinthe narrowed her eyes.

Oh no.

Lebanne started to sweat. “O-Oh! I wouldn’t dream of it, Lady-!”

Jacinthe grabbed Lebanne by the cheeks. “Yes, that’s right, you wouldn’t. You know why, my dear?”

“Why…?”

“Because you live and die by me. Do you understand?”

“Y-Yes!”

“I don’t think you do. I need you to beg for forgiveness.” Jacinthe said, voice dripping with honey.

“P-Please, Lady Jacinthe…” Lebanne moaned. “Forgive me…”

Xerneas and Yveltal tilted their heads at that display. Even while being as old as the Universe itself, this was a completely new kind of weirdness for them.

They looked at each other and then down at the other 10 pokemon.

The other 10 started to shrug and nod to them as to communicate to the Gods that yes, indeed,

Those were the trainers they had chosen.

Notes:

Yeah, it's one day late but Shhh. I did do most of it on the 31st. Just suddenly ambitious (but I found this really fun!)
