On the morning of █████, Luofu Island citizen █████ reported what was believed to be another incident of the phenomena known as “The Living Rot”.
█████ stated that he believed his father had fallen victim to “The Living Rot” after finding what he described as a “mangled mess of roots and leaves in the vague shape of a man” upon visiting his fathers home address.
Upon arriving at █████, healers and soldiers both observed what appeared to be the petrified/mutated body of █████. Each party was able to corroborate initial descriptions from █████, and could confirm that this was indeed another instance of “The Living Rot”.
Victim was observed to have had 80-90% of his body mutated/genetically altered. In place of flesh and hair was instead a root-like material and vegetation resembling golden, moon shaped leaves.
Soil/dirt surrounded the victim and was found in gaps and crevices. One soldier aptly described the phenomena as such - “It’s as if he crawled out of the ground, but we know that to not be the case.” Further soil/dirt trails and piles were found in other places in the residence, most notably surrounding and coating the bed of the master bedroom.
Forensic testing of remaining DNA confirms that the victim is indeed █████. █████ was described by █████ as being relatively healthy for his age, with no underlying health issues, and no concerning family history.
Victim was removed from the premises and █████ has been placed under quarantine watch. Sanitation crews are inbound to attempt disinfection of the address.
At the request and advice of General Jing Yuan, the responding team has also been placed in quarantine zones with level two security measures. Neighbouring residencies are currently being evacuated until sanitation can be attempted. Symptoms will be reported promptly should they arrive.
Victim should arrive at the Medicine Bureau in a timely manner for further autopsy and study. Please be advised of regular infection prevention protocols.
Please also be advised of the un-identifiable species of caterpillar/moth cocoon that are present on the victim and could not be removed before transport.
