Summary
Dean doesn't remember this hunt. He doesn't remember the forest, he doesn't remember the time controlling monster. He only knows that once he and his father went into this forest and came out with nothing.
Now he stands on the other side and looks at the man he was, a twenty-five-year-old in his father's jacket, with a pistol at the ready. It's 2020, Sam and Cas are nearby, the hunt is on, time is short. And somewhere inside there is the understanding that after the end of the hunt, his father and younger Dean will go back to 2004 and will not remember any of this.
