It took Aziraphale a solid minute to compose himself, and once he did, he straightened up and held the letter above his head. “I got a letter,” he announced.
“…I can see that,” Crowley said. “Is it the contents of the letter that’s got you in such a fuss?” Aziraphale nodded his head vigorously and shoved the envelope into Crowley’s hands.
“Do you remember that universe we asked God to create? About three months ago?” Aziraphale asked. Crowley blinked. “It’s not exactly something you forget, angel.”
“Yes. Right. Right. Well, I think this letter has something to do with it. Open it,” Aziraphale demanded hurriedly. Glancing suspiciously at the angel, Crowley opened the envelope to find a single unfolded sheet of paper. In the center, in immaculate handwriting, it read:
The Godless universe.
One day.
