Summary
After the 1-A reunion dinner, Bakugo Katsuki realizes he is moving in the wrong direction from his goal of reaching Number One. He finds his way back to someone who had twice attempted to teach him what he lacked: Best Jeanist. The conclusion: “Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight” urgently needs rebranding.
Meanwhile: For the first time in her life, Yaoyorozu Momo needs money: $250,000,000, to be exact. A sum large enough to fully fund her new dream of a self-financed global charity. Yet how to attain it? Her parents’ fortune is not hers.
The International Duos Combat Tournament is being held in Tokyo. This globally watched spectacle of hero combat is the perfect venue for heroes who need publicity…
Bakugo and Yaoyorozu reconnect and see something useful in the other: He sees her as a competent partner who understands public perception. She sees him as a combat prodigy who can carry her to the final round, maximizing the opportunities to tout her new charity to a global audience. They enter the tournament as partners.
Working together, fighting side by side, and often trapped in close quarters, Bakugo and Yaoyorozu pursue their dreams.
