Two months ago, Xiwann and KaeruK both announced they were to retire from their pro-gaming careers. Their contracts with Borderland Play Organisation, the international competitive game club, ended three days ago.

KaeruK, as secretive as usual, is still to be seen on social media or on stream. Xiwann, on the other hand, has already returned to streaming Apex since then and has brought to light what could be the real reason behind his departure from Borderland Play Organisation.

In an exchange with faraX and Monka in their ranked game last night, Xiwann revealed that Borderland had been intervening in his private romantic life, specifically upon discovering the person he was involved was also part of the organisation.

It is unclear whether Xiwann meant that Borderland forbids relationships of the kind between its members or if the relationship had been detrimental to Xiwann's performances or the company environment. In any case, Borderland was at the origin of Xiwann's contract end and for these specific reasons.

The opacity of Borderland Play Organisation regarding its functioning is not new but this is the first time anything regarding its management of interpersonal relationships comes to the ears of the general public. Dating bans are not common practice in the competitive sphere and the revelations made by Xiwann are therefore leading some parts of his audience to wonder if KaeruK was not the involved person. Fan theories and artistic depictions have been trending on social media for the past few hours and show no sign of slowing down.

If Xiwann and KaeruK were indeed laid off by Borderland Play Organisation for being in a relationship, they may have ended with the upper hand anyway as the community imagination is running wild. If not, this will sure make things really awkward between the two former teammates.
