Chapter Text
"I'm pregnant!"
"Good evening, Jason," showing not a single shred of panic at this sudden, earth-shattering announcement, the woman on the other end of the line spoke with her usual elegance.
"Why the hell am I pregnant?"
Ignoring the pleasantries altogether, Jason continued to yell into his disposable burner phone in a state of sheer panic.
"吾兒 (My son)," she sighed gently, "even if my beloved would be highly resistant to the subject, I believe he at least taught you a thing or two about how it work."
"I know how it happened, T," this mildly scolding yet soothing tone managed to sober Jason up a little. He lowered his voice with a tinge of annoyance, reframing his question the right way.
"But you said my development was incomplete because of the Pit, so I thought I was..."
This was precisely why, even though his cycle had been delayed for quite some time, he had never even considered pregnancy as a possibility. He had simply assumed this physical discomfort was due to a hormonal imbalance after being forced into heat last time, which was why he had just stayed in Star City to recuperate.
However, his occasional dry-heaving, loss of appetite, and frequent bouts of hypersomnia finally pushed Roy past his breaking point. The older Omega went out to buy a pregnancy test, shoved Jason into the bathroom, and locked the door from the outside—which brought Jason to his current predicament.
"I never said you would remain that way forever," there was a brief pause on the line. Talia seemed to have stood up and moved to a quieter, more secluded room before she continued to correct him. "Your development was indeed incomplete when you crawled out of the Lazarus Pit—but that was because you had only just presented, coupled with long-term malnutrition. I also repeatedly tried to tell you that I could arrange pheromone therapy tailored to your constitution in Metropolis to regulate your bodily functions, but you rejected the offer the second you heard the name LexCorp."
Hearing that phrase, Jason—who had never paid any attention to sex education—finally connected the dots. He remembered the temporary mark that the Alpha, who had been helping him through his heats for so long, had left on the nape of his neck. And that poisoning from that potent pheromone inducer just a few weeks prior...
After that man had left, the moment Jason felt himself recovering, he had ignored his body's exhaustion and immediately cleared out all contaminated items from the apartment. He took them to his safehouse less than thirty feet away to destroy them. Afterward, it hadn't even crossed his mind to clear himself before he crashed and fell fast asleep. By the time he woke up, the incident had completely slipped his mind, as his only thought was to return to Gotham immediately. So...
Embarrassed, he buried his face in his hands.
---
After a rushed farewell to the Harpers, Jason boarded a private jet arranged by Talia and flew to Metropolis at top speed. There, he underwent an examination by a League doctor whom she trusted completely—he was nearly two months pregnant.
Of course, there was no other possibility.
---
After spending days locked inside his own room in Talia's Metropolis penthouse, Jason suddenly strode into the living room.
"I'm keeping this pup." He stopped before the coffee table with arms crossed, speaking with absolute solemnity. But wearing his pajamas despite it already being noon, the announcement felt far less serious than intended.
Sitting on the sofa in matching pajamas, the CEO of LexCorp was reviewing documents on a tablet, without even bothering to look up.
"And you don't intend to tell that Lantern."
Having been brimming with confidence just a moment ago, the fact that the statement didn't even end in a question mark made Jason instantly let his shoulders slump.
"...He's got nothing to do with this." He tried to put up a front, but his voice was so faint it was nearly inaudible.
Talia just raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of amusement gleaming in her eyes.
"What about what you told me back then—that I shouldn't have hidden Damian from your father?"
"He is not my father."
Whenever the man they both deeply loved was brought up, Jason always felt incredibly uncomfortable, leading him to stammer out incoherent excuses. "And you know perfectly well that this is different, T. Bruce loved you very much back then, but Ky..." The words cut off abruptly. He bit his lip and turned the head away.
Knowing that this boy had always found it difficult to hide his emotions in front of those he trusted, Talia let out a fond, indulgent sigh. She turned off her tablet screen, placed it on the table, and stood up to walk over to him. Her slender fingers gently lifted the boy's chin, forcing his eyes—which had once been as stark green as the Lazarus Pit but had now reverted to a calm teal—to look directly at her.
"Will you be arranging your own departure from Gotham, or shall I handle it?"
This abrupt question did not catch Jason off guard. He simply took a deep breath and spoke softly. "The League's presence there would raise too much suspicion."
Talia nodded. "Send me the detailed plan later. I will clear my schedule and come pick you up myself."
Releasing her grip, her brow furrowed slightly as her mind seemingly began to map out the logistics for what was to come.
This unwavering, zero-hesitation support deeply moved Jason.
What he loved most about Talia was exactly this: she always supported his decisions unconditionally.
No matter how inherently wrong those proved to be in the end.
After a moment of hesitation, he stepped toward her again. He awkwardly reached out to hug the older Omega, who, despite having cared for him for only a short period of his life, had completely reshaped his world and his values.
"Thanks, T," he murmured near her ear.
And Talia simply patted his back gently. 「不足掛齒,親愛的。」("No worries, my dear.")
***
Before his pregnancy could visibly show, Jason anticipated spending about three months to gradually erase all traces of Red Hood’s existence.
Abandoning his past ideals of reforming Gotham's criminal underworld filled him with immense self-reproach. Yet, after his thorough restructuring in his earlier years, Crime Alley would still function perfectly well even if Red Hood vanished without a word for a few months. He wasn't arrogant enough to believe that his people absolutely couldn't survive without him.
However, to prevent his territory from becoming a battleground for rival gangs once again due to the lack of a protector after his departure, he spent weeks trying to convince his informants and the sex workers under his wing to trust a few of the Bats.
In doing so, he finally tasted the bitter consequences of his past decision to monopolize this place—they absolutely refused to listen to his advice.
As for the gang itself, although he had rarely interfered in its actual day-to-day operations over the past few years, formally handing over the reins to his second-in-command still required an overwhelming amount of administrative logistics to discuss. Consequently, he ended up spending more time in his territory over the past few weeks than he had in the entire past year combined.
Therefore, he could only utilize his gaps of free time to clear out or destroy the safehouses that the Bats didn't know about (or so he hoped).
And now, sitting on the floor of one of the apartments he used to stash his books, looking at the seemingly never-ending checklist in his hand, Jason pressed his lips into a tight line.
He was truly going to leave Gotham.
After having once died in a foreign land and only managing to return to his roots so many years later, Jason naturally had zero desire to leave. But if it meant his pup could grow up in a safer and healthier environment, he would do whatever it took, no matter the cost.
Even if this city was his self-proclaimed mission, he would absolutely never make his child feel the need to risk their life for a city just like their Bearer had done.
Even if it meant he had to disappear on his family without saying goodbye all over again.
Having learned his lesson the hard way, Jason had originally planned to come out to them about his designation once the particular heat cycle was over. And to force himself to follow through, he had even cleared out the heat safehouse he had used for years before heading to Star City, renting it out at a dirt-cheap price to a little girl and her mother whom he had met while doing volunteer work under an alias.
To prevent them from turning down the offer out of doubt, he had even made up an excuse, asking them to look after a few souvenirs from space that he couldn't bring himself to throw away.
But that plan had to be scrapped now.
Honestly, Jason was actually quite surprised that his secret had never been exposed over the past four years, since plenty of heroes in the community already knew it. However, they all seemed to assume that Red Hood, much like Batman, was strategically keeping it under wraps, so they had all tacitly agreed never to bring it up.
He couldn't be more grateful for that right now.
Because if the Bats ever found out, Jason knew damn well that they would stop at nothing to force him to stay—and he lacked the confidence that his current self, left thoroughly vulnerable by pregnancy hormones, would be capable of refusing them.
Fortunately, they all seemed convinced that his recent refusal to communicate were due to him being misgendered. Consequently, they were all too riddled with guilt to initiate any contact. The younger Bats only dared to quietly assist him from a distance, drop off snacks at his apartment, or send him a few checking-in texts like they used to...not that he could read them anyway. His personal phone had stopped working after being submerged in the Gotham River for less than ten minutes a while ago. He was too lazy to fix it, and quite frankly, he was terrified of reading the messages from—
Anyway, a few months from now, he would mail them some postcards from his new place to let them know.
Once the pup was born.
Jason shifted his palm down, pressing against his abs as he let out a soft sigh.
He knew that as a high school dropout, a former anti-hero with an extensive list of enemies, and a legally dead boy, his decision to keep the pup was incredibly foolish—yet, it was something he had yearned for all his life.
Ever since he was adopted at the age of twelve, Jason Todd-Wayne, under the care of Mama Bruce and Alfred, had enjoyed a belated, fleeting, but blissful childhood and family life. It was then that he had begun to look forward to the future.
Whether it meant having biological pups with someone he loved, adopting from an orphanage, or just randomly kidnapping a little street rat off the alleyways just like he used to be, he had always believed that he, too, could give his future pups a happy and joyful childhood, just as Bruce had done for him.
And then.
After crawling out of the Lazarus Pit, Jason had learned from Talia about his second gender and his... physiological defects. But even if that hadn't been the case, the Red Hood, completely consumed by vengeance, had been utterly certain that his childhood dream had long since crumbled into dust...until he met that Green Lantern.
Jason clenched the checklist in his hand, crushing it into a tight ball.
He knew perfectly well that it was entirely his fault that the man had chosen to leave. Exposed to that potent pheromone inducer, consumed by terror, anxiety, and the agonizing dread of being rejected once again, Jason had wanted nothing more than to vanish from the man's sight immediately. He had gone so far as to weaponize his words, belittling their friendship and completely infuriating the usually soft-hearted Alpha...
Looking up at the now nearly empty space, Jason couldn't help but recall his accidental discovery when he went to New York a few days ago.
If the unusually rough behavior back then had been the result of being contaminated by the chemicals, then the subsequent decision to leave Earth entirely was the ultimate proof that the Alpha wanted absolutely nothing more to do with Jason...it didn't matter anyway. He would never get the chance to see them again.
Perhaps his brother had been right from the start: a trouble like Jason should never have entered anyone's life in the first place.
Jason raised a hand to touch where the temporary mark had completely faded away. Then, he just picked up the last remaining cardboard boxes, and walked out of the apartment he would never return to, without casting a single glance back.
***
Utterly defeated after yet another failed attempt to convince a few street urchins to enter the shelter he had founded, Red Hood Stepped into his Crime Alley safehouse, which was the last one he had kept to destroy. Without even bothering with the usual paranoid door-locking ritual, Jason simply yanked off his helmet, shed his leather jacket, and slumped onto the soft, worn comfort of the secondhand sofa.
He was exhausted as fuck.
Deprived of a pack presence, he had been suffering from severe pregnancy symptoms over the past week. Not only was he forced to down a massive stack of daily nutritional supplements per the doctor's strict orders, but his patrol routine had also been slashed to the absolute bare minimum he could tolerate. He couldn't even keep up with his workouts—something he normally treated as non-negotiable as eating or sleeping...Recalling the doctor's stern warnings, Jason gritted his teeth.
Whatever. He'd endure anything as long as his pup was healthy.
Jason peeled off the scent blockers that had left the nape of his neck feeling tight and itchy all day, planning to catch a quick nap before dragging himself up to clean off the grime.
But before he could drift off, an almost imperceptible rustle of fabric tripped his razor-sharp instincts.
DAMMIT.
Jason groaned internally, knowing full well his current state left him in no shape to run or fight. He kept still, playing it cool as his eyes slowly blinked open.
"You are pregnant."
Despite the earth-shattering nature of the news, the voice was infuriatingly flat.
With a heavy sigh, Jason rested a hand over his barely visible bump and slowly pushed himself upright, leaning back against the sofa.
Batman standing motionless by the doorway— if it hadn't been for the years they had spent partnering together, he would have never been able to discern the rigidity and shock in his body language.
"Surprise," grinning, Jason said in a flat, mocking tone.
"You plan to leave Gotham," the Dark Knight stated, his lips pressed into a tight line as his voice dropped dangerously low.
Jason shrugged in silent admission, though Batman seemed thoroughly displeased by his superficial cooperation. He pressed on with the interrogation.
"Why did you keep your designation a secret?"
"'Cause it's none of your business," Jason replied evenly. But to be honest, the answer was a bit complicated.
First of all, back when Red Hood had just returned to Gotham, there was no way he would expose his weakness, nor did he trust the Bats not to stop at nothing to subdue him.
Even after they had managed to form a begrudging cooperation, he had still meticulously hidden it. not because Jason was ashamed of his second gender, but he absolutely refused to be easily accommodated or coddled because of it.
And later on... he simply hadn't known how to bring it up after all that time.
All the effort he had put into keeping this hidden over the years now about to vanish into thin air, Jason couldn't help the surge of irritation.
"It's too reckl—"
The sharp, defensive scent wafting off the younger Omega made Batman halt the habitual reprimand. Pausing for a beat, he carefully removed his cowl— in an instant, he was Bruce again.
The soft hush he let out was so gentle and deep. His voice was no longer a threatening growl, but raspy and profoundly affectionate—sounding so much like a heartbroken parent that it almost made Jason yield.
However.
"We are your pack, Jay."
That only jolted Jason clear out of his lingering haze, and he let out a disdainful scoff.
"I beg to differ," he drawled, attempting to mask his inner turmoil beneath his usual abrasive attitude. "I'd hardly consider a bunch of self-proclaimed 'world's greatest detectives' who somehow still mistook me for an Alpha my pack." He paused, his expression hardening. "And as far as I'm concerned, I haven't been granted permission to step foot into your precious nest ever since I returned."
Jason bit his lower lip in immediate regret, burning with shame over failing to hide the bitterness in his voice.
"I—I didn't know you were still willing to..." Bruce stammered, struck completely speechless by the raw anger behind Jason's confession.
Ultimately, he chose to strip the scent blockers from both of his wrists. Taking cautious yet firm steps, Bruce walked toward the boy who was terrified beneath his bravado—mirroring the exact day they had first met—and held out a hand.
"Please, Jason, come home with me."
"Home?" Recognizing that Mama Bruce was treating him like a pup and trying to soothe him with pheromones, Jason bared his teeth, growling with defensive displeasure at being looked down upon. "What? The moment I get knocked up, that place suddenly becomes my home again? How convenient. Why didn't I think of that sooner?"
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Ignoring the headache and dizziness from his chronic insomnia, he stood up furiously from the sofa, poking Batman's hard chest armor repeatedly with his heavy leather-gloved finger. "This isn't going to fix a single damn thing between us! And don't tell me you're planning to let bygones be bygones just because of this—you're a fucking Omega yourself!"
Yet, completely ignoring Jason's fury once again and taking his touch as permission, Bruce reached out and pulled him into a tight embrace.
"I know," he murmured, wrapping his arms around Jason's shoulders and pressing the boy's head firmly into the crook of his neck. Speaking slowly and earnestly, he added, "But I still want you back, regardless of everything that happened."
Finally being able to voice the sentence he had regretted withholding ever since he saw his resurrected son take off his helmet, Bruce let out a massive sigh of relief. However, after a long while, the Jason in his arms remained entirely silent.
Anxious, Bruce looked down into his embrace, only to find his pup had already fallen fast asleep against his chest, knocked out by the comforting, safe scent of his Mama.

"What the hell were you thinking?! Drugging your son! Your pregnant son!"
"...I really didn't. Please believe me."
"How can I believe you? You always go to extremes whenever it comes to him!"
"Ummm... " Originally, Robin had no intention of interfering in a dispute he was long accustomed to, but hearing his name being brought up, he subconsciously whined in a groggy, muddled tone. "it’s still early, Barbie."
The moment his unusually raspy voice—did he catch a cold?—rang out, the rapidly escalating argument ceased instantly. Satisfied, he rolled over into the pile of soft fabrics, adjusted his position, and prepared to sink back into his comfortable slumber, but a faint sound of rolling wheels slowly approached him.
"Hey, Jay. Are you alright?"
The warmth and touch brushing against his cheek forced Robin to blink open his sore, exhausted eyes. Seeing Batgirl’s worried face, his immediate instinct was to push himself up to prove his strength and resilience. However, a pair of large hands gently pressed him back down into the soft, cozy nest beneath him.
"Don’t get up, Jay, lad. You still need to rest."
The small, pleased smile that had formed on Jason’s face from his father’s care faded the exact split second he saw that handsome face, which looked significantly older than he remembered.
Awkwardly and half-angrily brushing off Batman’s touch, Red Hood sat up, completely on guard.
Though he noticed during the movement that the texture of his clothes felt entirely wrong, his need to keep a hawk-like watch on the other two forced him to check with his peripheral vision—he wasn't wearing the tactical suit he had been passed out in. Instead, he had been changed into a soft, comfortable, and bizarrely familiar set of loungewear, and all his weapons, naturally, had been confiscated.
"You put me under house arrest, " Jason blurted out, though he wasn't surprised at all.
"No, we didn't," sitting in her wheelchair and looking over at him, Oracle corrected him gently. She lightly took his hand into her palm and gave it a reassuring pat. "You were sleeping fitfully earlier, so Alfred helped you change... Your personal belongings are all downstairs."
Confused by the last word for a moment, Jason recognized the painfully familiar decor around him and finally noticed they weren't in the Batcave. His brow furrowing, he turned to the older Omega, snapping fiercely.
"You kidnapped me into your nest again?"
The exaggerated choice of words made the Beta woman raise her eyebrows. Glancing at Bruce, who remained in an embarrassed silence, her meaningful look practically screamed, "I told you so."
After waiting for what felt like an eternity without receiving any sort of response from his consistently emotionally constipated adoptive father, an infuriated Jason took a deep breath, preparing to launch into another tirade. However, the warm pheromones lingering around him—which had put him to sleep just moments ago—now felt as anxiety-inducing as Fear Gas. He could only hold his breath as best as he could, squeezing the words through his teeth.
"Who else knows?"
Noticing his panic, Barbara had to squeeze his trembling, calloused hands with a bit of force.
"Only the two of us, and Alfred."
She waited quietly for his next line of questioning, but the boy just kept his eyes fixed intently on her.
"He didn't tell anyone," knowing the second Robin's deeply paranoid nature, Oracle explained with a sigh. "I saw him carrying you out of your apartment unconscious on the security feeds, so I came over to check on the situation. And that's how I found out about your... condition."
Out of his deep trust for the first Batgirl, Jason's posture visibly relaxed. He stared at their intertwined hands for a moment before looking up at the third person in the room, asking slowly, "Why did you bring me here?"
"You want to leave Gotham." Rather than giving a straight answer, Batman, who had already changed into his civilian clothes, simply deflected with a question as he always did.
At this point, Jason was too exhausted to even maintain his anger. He merely pulled his hands back and collapsed sideways into the massive nest—which was packed with his siblings' clothing and was several times larger and more grand than his own... which had already ceased to exist.
"There's no need to worry about me starting a gang somewhere else," rubbing his eyes, he lightly rested his hands over his stomach, staring up at the ceiling wearily as he muttered, "Someone I trust has already prepared a place for me in a safe enough location. And I have a legitimate income, believe it or not."
The commissions he had accumulated during his mercenary days and the investments he made with them had allowed him to stop relying on gang funds to sustain his daily life months ago.
Furthermore, over the past few years, encouraged by... someone, he had been submitting various genres of his literary works to several different publishing houses. While they weren't exactly massive hits, the royalties were more than enough to cover a portion of the expenses for himself and his pup for the next few years.
"So," Jason muttered, still annoyed at being forced to lay out his plans. He rubbed his face hard with his palms to keep himself awake, urging impatiently, "Whatever bullshit you have left to say, say it quickly. I still have a shit ton of shits to do before I leave."
"I want you to let us help you wrap up your closing plans for Red Hood."
The request made Jason let out a cold scoff.
"At what price? Keeping me locked up here for the rest of my life?" He looked up, his tone dry.
"I do hope you will stay here until you give birth," Bruce admitted truthfully.
Surprisingly, Jason didn't object immediately. He just raised an eyebrow and asked calmly, "But?"
"But if you truly wish to... leave after that," even though the words felt like they were being wrenched from his teeth, Bruce still forced himself to continue, "I will not stop you."
"...You won't?" Slowly turning his head, Jason looked at him, his eyes full of skepticism.
"No," Bruce met his gaze earnestly, speaking with absolute certainty. "We will respect your decision."
Barbara, who had been observing the situation in silence from the sidelines, interjected, "But you have to promise to give us regular updates, and let us handle the security for your new residence."
Caught off guard, Jason blinked.
Well... he actually didn't mind that.
He had indeed been overly secretive before, but now that everything was out in the open, and he was certain the Bats wouldn't use this as an excuse to force him into anything he was unwilling to do, there was no need to remain so terrified and paranoid.
Besides, his pup’s safety was absolutely his number one priority from now on. While he was confident in his own abilities, having an extra layer of security wouldn't hurt if he was going to return to a civilian life later on.
Moreover, his condition lately really didn't seem up to the task of finishing his plans within the timeframe. Working with the Bats would not only make his schedule less tight, but if he could use this process to get Alley to trust them a little more...
Seeing that his son didn't voice any objections and had even fallen into deep thought, Bruce pressed his advantage. "If we are going to do this, who are you willing to let know first?"
"..."
---
Back in the Batcave, they engaged in a thorough, detailed discussion regarding Jason's future plans. A few hours later, Barbara, who had to clock in for her shift at the library, was the first to excuse herself. Even though Jason had agreed to stay the night, out of a strange sense of stubbornness and lingering unease, he still refused to turn in to any of the bedrooms to rest. Instead, under the disapproving stares of Bruce and Alfred, he dove straight into the library. Curling up in his childhood favorite reading nook—which now looked pitifully small for his current size—he flipped through a few novels from his youth until he drifted off to sleep once more.
It wasn't until noon, after the other Batlings had left the manor one after another, that Alfred finally woke Jason up and led him toward the dining room for lunch.
On their way to the dining room, the second Robin, who had been secretly anxious for several minutes, took a deep breath. He hesitantly called out to the unusually silent old Beta walking ahead of him.
"Alfred."
Meeting the butler's focused yet warm gaze, Jason ducked his head and scratched the back of his neck, finding the words somewhat difficult to get out. "I’m sorry that I..."
"That’s nothing to be sorry about, Master Jason," Alfred cut off his apology, stepping closer with his usual elegance to place a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder. "As long as you are safe and happy, then everything is as it should be."
"...Thanks, Alfie."
---
Having barely slept after finishing his patrol, Nightwing, who had been forced to rush all the way back to the manor from Blüdhaven, asked his mentor bluntly as the older man typed away at the Batcomputer, "What's wrong with Jason this time?"
"This time? Ouch, Dickie."
Turning his head sharply around, it was only then that Dick noticed his younger brother, who was wearing Bruce's loungewear and naturally crouching on the very bottom step of the staircase. Showing no hint of awkwardness, Dick merely knitted his brows and asked again, "What’s going on now?"
Seeing his brother in an even worse disposition instantly lifted Jason's own less-than-stellar mood, so he watched Dick in absolute silence with a brilliant, mocking smirk on his face. It was only when that Beta, impatiently gritting his teeth, made a move to turn around and leave, that Jason stood up with an exaggerated motion, brushed the non-existent dust off his clothes, and announced with an air of mystery, "You're going to be an Uncle."
Upon hearing this piece of news that should have been joyful, the first Robin merely stared at his brother's face with deep skepticism. After a long pause, he asked hesitantly, "...Roy's pregnant?"
Finding his relationship with his friend misunderstood yet again, Jason rolled his eyes. "Guess again."
"...You cheated on him, so the Arrows are hunting you?"
"No, you fucking idiot," seeing how wildly off the track Dick's guesses were getting, Jason lost his patience to keep him in suspense and angrily blurted out the truth. "I'm pregnant."
Leaving Dick standing frozen in his tracks with his mouth wide open in a perfect 'O,' Jason sauntered cheerfully toward the Batcomputer. Resting his hand on the back of the chair—as Batman had been actively avoiding joining the conversation—Jason looked at the outline of the plan he had reluctantly handed over last night displayed on the monitor, making casual conversation. "Hey, old man. I'm satisfied now. Come on, hit me with your expert opinion."
"Everything else can proceed according to your plan," seemingly worried about offending Jason again, Bruce kept his eyes glued to the screen, speaking slowly and cautiously. "However, for the final step—the part where Red Hood perishes in the explosion..."
“I'm not cutting that part out. That's my aesthetic.”
"...I understand," Bruce agreed without a shred of hesitation. "But when the time comes, you cannot be the one physically down there. It must be handed over to me."
Jason blinked, thoroughly surprised. “You? Not Dick?"
“My physique is a closer match to yours.” Batman's tone was remarkably flat, as if the costume he was about to put on were just another standard custom suit, rather than the tactical armor symbolizing his arch-nemesis's old identity.
Jason blinked slowly.
“Wow.” Seeing this stubborn man being uncharacteristically cooperative, the young man clicked his tongue and couldn't help but shake his head in amazement. “You really are pulling out all the stops to make me stay, aren't you?”
It seemed the impact of the revelation had driven him to a certain resolve, as Bruce candidly admitted with rare vulnerability, "Regardless of whether you ultimately decide to leave or not, I am willing to do this for you, Jay, la... Jason."
"Leave?" Hearing the keyword, Dick, who had been ignored up until now, finally snapped out of his shock, instantly yelling in sheer panic. "What the hell? Bruce! How could you just let him leave? He’s our pack Omega!"
Letting out a soft huff, the Omega in question, who had been excluded from his previous dialogues, grumbled in displeasure, "I didn't see you having much of an opinion on that before today."
Seeing their father remain tight-lipped on the matter and continue to keep his silence, Dick had no choice but to turn around and face Jason, sputtering incoherently, "Where do you even plan to live? How are you going to get by with a pup—oh god, you’re only twenty-two!"
Although Jason also harbored plenty of doubts about his own future, he couldn't resist firing back. "And this is coming from the guy who moved to another city and became its sole vigilante the exact second he turned eighteen."
"I..." Incapable of refuting the point, Dick frantically changed the subject, trying to reason with him from a different angle. "How do you plan to explain this to the others? You know they won't just let you leave that easily, right?"
He had fully anticipated another reasonable rebuttal, but instead, both of his Omega family members fell completely silent, staring directly at him.
"WHAT?"
