Work Text:
Toshiko didn’t notice the first time someone said Mary and she didn’t react. It was an innocuous thing. At first, the mere mention of her name or a whiff of a cigarette made her heart clench and stomach churn.
But now, she felt nothing. She had loved Mary, she knew that to be true. And she didn’t hate Mary. Some part of her felt she should. Mary was a murderer, but she didn’t. She just. Stopped caring. Mary was, for a brief whirlwind, the most important thing in Toshiko’s world. Now, she was just an old and forgotten Torchwood report.
