Work Text:

Eiji was in New York, in an underground bar in New York to be specific. He was a bit nervous but also exited, the place hold a certain energy that Eiji couldn’t quite describe, a part of him craved for it, missed it, while the other wanted to run away and go back in Japan.

Around, people were dancing on jazz music, adding to the warmth of the place. Eiji felt out of place, all those men didn’t looked older than him but way more… bitter ? Like they had lived a thousand lives already.

I too, lived a few life, Eiji thought.

He was never a big alcohol fan but approached the bar counter in the hope to find something at his liking. The bartender looked at him up and down, staring into his soul.

I’m not scared of y’all, Eiji thought.

The man’s expression darkened when he sighed before giving Eiji his drink. The damn thing was blue, what shit do they put in it to have a such unnatural colou-

Someone bumped into him.

His beauty was surrealist. Blond hair, jade green eyes and angelic face. Eiji stomach dropped, like his drink who shattered on the ground. Nobody noticed the sharp glass breaking because of the loud music. But of course the handsome fauve in front of him did.

-“ I made your drink fall. I’ll pay back”

His voice… Eiji almost forgot to answer, it was so beautiful, maybe sharp and cold but so perfect. That man could read the dictionary and it would still be a blessing.

-“ No it’s okay, actually I-“

-“ I insist.”

-“ Well fine but only if you take one with me”

Eiji was dead shocked to hear the words getting out of his own mouth.

He.had.asked.a.guy.out.

And the guy in question had smiled and say yes.

Strangely he wasn’t regretting anything, maybe because the man was charming,

He made him laugh

He made him smile

He made him feel good

It felt so easy to talk with him, they strangely had so much in common and bounded over everything and anything. Never out of topic, they stayed there till at least two in the morning before leaving for the guy’s flat.

The door closed and they kissed. It was sloppy, unhurried and Eiji enjoyed every second of it.

They moved into the bedroom, a simple space with only a drawer and a king size bed. They collapsed on it, still in each other’s arms and peacefully fell asleep.

Eiji had his perch in his hand as he had to run to the high wall in front of him. He needed to do it but he seemed unable to move, his shoes were stuck on the ground

He looked down, he had to hurry, he had to made it on the other side of the wall.

It was really important.

So he looked at his shoes.

They were covered by tick and almost dried out blood, glueing him on place.

Eiji looked behind him, where the blood trail was going.

There was a man, lying in a dark red mess.

Forgetting about the wall, Eiji managed to move and run to the man.

The man was bleeding by his stomach and Eiji checked for pulse

Then he saw,

The glassy jade green eyes.

-“ASH”

He heard himself scream before his vision started to tunnel.

***

-“ASH”

Eiji screamed as he woke up from another nightmare, the image of the dead body still lingering before his eyes.

No word was strong enough to describe the sadness and desperation he felt deep to the bone. He felt empty, like someone had ripped out his heart to toss it away.

A feeling so deep he threw up as some warm hands held his hair up. The same hands rubbed circles on his back when he broke down and sobbed uncontrollably.

Eiji ended up curled up in his arms while long fingers were gently brushing his hair.

-“Eiji ?”

He didn’t look up, just nodding against his comforting chest.

-“ Who’s Ash ?”

Eiji dared looking at the guy, flinching at the vision of his blue eyes.

Not jade green eyes,

It would never be jade green eyes again.

Notes:

He wakes up in the middle of the night
I run in and turn on the light
Run my hands through his short black hair

Sorry guys
