Back To Normal (Right?)

Summary:

Basically my AU where like, their world is a game, yes, but without the player (Or, I'll just call them User to not confuse them with the player character) it's like a normal world, where Player goes to school, Cashier works in that store, Dummy is now actually alive, and there's a city nearby.

Idk I made this AU for fun don't like don't read shoo.

Oh yea and like, the User got bored of the game and left, that's why this fic is taking place.

Chapter 1: A Puppet With A Puppeteer No Longer

Summary:

Player wakes up, but they feel different, the world itself is different.

They no longer feel like something that's controlled.

They're not sure what to think of that.

They have to remember how to live on their own, but they won't have to relearn everything alone.

Notes:

I like Player, and I like Dad, he's kool.

I see him as this tired guy who genuinely cares for his kid but doesn't really know how to deal with emotions much, so he instead shows affection through acts of service and stuff.

Kudos and comments are appreciated:] Lmk if I made any typos or did a mistake in the tags!!!

Chapter Text

The child opened their eyes, they were lying on their bed, staring up at the ceiling. Their limbs felt free, as if the invisible strands that wrapped around them are no longer there.

Huh.

Guess that creature that controlled them is gone for now...

They slowly pushed themself up into a sitting position, finding a hard time doing so, as it has been a while since they had full control over their body. They glanced at the window, the sun was shining outside, casting a bright warm light on the world.

Are they... Out of the loop?

...

No, it will all restart once that creature is back, they just have to wait a little bit.

So, they lied down again, and placed their hands under their chin, holding them together, a gesture to sooth themself, and closed thier eyes.

They can feel the bed under them.

They can hear the sound of birds from outside.

They can hear the ticking of the digital clock beside them.

They can feel their pajamas against their skin.

They can hear footsteps approaching their bedroom door.

Wait, footsteps?-

The door was pushed open, making a soft creeking sound.

"Oi, Player" A deep yet familiar voice called out, it sounded raspy, as if the speaker just woke up, it had been a while since they heard their name. "Get up, time for school"

They finally opened their eyes, and instantly noticed the middle aged man standing in the door way. He had his arm hanging on his side, while the other held the door knob, his black hair was messy and unkept, and he wore a blue pajama shirt with the word "Dad" written on it, the shirt they gave him, and green pajama pants, matching with them.

They blinked a few times. They really haven't expected that they're going to school today, it's been a while, they're not sure if they remember what they learnt anyways. All they remember is that drinking orange juice followed with toothpaste blows you up, would they give that as a pop quiz? Hopefully.

"Come on, kid" Dad spoke up, knocking on the door twice with his index finger, getting their attention. "Get dressed, I made breakfast" With that, he closed the door, and his footsteps slowly got quieter.

Slowly, one by one.

By one.

Hm.

Everything that's multipled by one doesn't change. Like 4 by 1, equals 4. It can also be written as 1 by 4. And also 1 by 1 by 1 by 1.

That reminds them of the old myth 1x1x1x1.

Oh, and maybe Guest666. That one's their favorite.

And Nol-wait they have to get dressed for school.

They slowly pushed themself up into a sitting position, and stared at the ground. They took a deep breath, then moved their legs so they were hanging off the edge of the bed, their feet hit the ground, and they pushed themself upward carefully. Only to lose their balance and fall face flat on the ground.

It hurt, they hit their nose pretty hard when they fell, but that pain seemed to have woken them up slightly, but they still felt out of it.

...

Of course they can't walk, they haven't done anything on their own for so long with that creature present. But, what should they do?

They can't call out for dad, they can't talk, and no sound they can let out is loud enough to be heard by him. So, they're stuck.

Stuck lying on the ground, unsure of how to move.

Their mind felt blank, and cloudy.

After a while of not thinking or moving on your own, you forget how to act as a robloxian bei

Footsteps slowly approached the door, that was soon opened. "Player, you good? I heard some-Why are you on the ground?!"

With the help of dad, they got dressed up. He helped them stand up, and slowly helped them remember how to actually move their legs and balance their body weight. They were not sure if he was worried or annoyed, since It's hard to read expressions afterall.

They finally wore their school uniform, it wasn't much, just something comfortable that fit the dress code; A simple black shirt with a dark red jacket ontop, and a skirt of a similar color that reached below their knees.

As much as they didn't like skirts, they were forced to wear one, since they were seen as a "girl" by the school, no matter how much dad tried to explain.

Atleast it's made out of a comfy texture, they're so glad dad got this for them.

They had breakfast, fried egg and a cup of milk.

As they stared at the plate that had two fried eggs on it, they couldn't help but remember when they got this ending.

Or the many endings they got.

Which resulted in a data overload.

Which almost destroyed the world.

They almost destroyed the world.

They almost destroyed dad.

They

"Hey, kid" They glanced up, dad was the speaker. "You're actin off today" He started, and placed his fork down. "You forgot how to walk, you forgot how to sign, you forgot how to make noises..."

"Everything okay?"

He paused, "It was all fine yesterday, wasnt it?"

He's not one to ask this, maybe because they were naturally weird he didn't feel the need to ask, and somehow they became even weirder.

They want to talk, they want to explain what happened, they want to cry and vent out their frustration over what happened.

But as they opened their mouth, nothing came out, not even a soft noise they used to be able to make. Despite the burning sensation in their throat, the urge to speak, to spell it out, they just... Can't.

"..." Dad stayed silent, but he grabbed his fork and resumed eating his single egg. "You can just not go to school today." He spoke up as he stabbed his fork into the yolk. "You don't seem to be in the best state for that."

At that, they felt their mouth's corner twitch upward. They're glad they won't go there. They can use sometime to get used to actually being aware of the fact that they're alive before they start acting like a functioning robloxian.

Slowly, they nodded their head, still staring at their plate. It hurt to move their head that way, just a dull ach in their neck. As much as they would love to sign to thank dad, they can't remember how to. Hopefully they got the message through.

They can smell the eggs on their plate, still untouched, the milk in the green plastic cup they always drink out of on the right side of the plate, also untouched.

They need to eat, they know, they haven't eaten anything proper ever since that creature took control. And yet...

They're not hungry.
