    "Katsuki Bakugou," he whispers. He takes a breath as he repeats it, much louder, the sound echoing off the stone walls like a death knell. Then: "Shoto Todoroki."

    A ripple of sheer confusion passes through the Great Hall. Two names. On one paper.

    Katsuki’s mind is a mess. His fingers search through the dark, finding Shoto’s hand and gripping it hard, before looking down at the fingers woven with his own. 

    There, tracing a perfect circle around Shoto’s left ring finger is a thin, black band. Identical to the one burning against Katsuki's own skin.
