jin had been driving for what seemed like forever. he and his boyfriend were on their way back home from his parents. as much as he loved them, he hated the drive home. they always left late at night because his mom insisted they should stay longer because "we haven't seen you in ages" but jin would always say that he had work the next day. the drive would take at least 5 hours and jin was tired. he knew his boyfriend was tired from the way he was lightly snoring in the passenger seat. his boyfriend, kim namjoon, has said that he would gladly drive half the way, but jin had dragged him to his parents, so the least he could do is let the younger boy sleep.
"okay kim seokjin, you got this, you've pulled a bunch of all-nighters, you can drive for a few more hours and then you can go to sleep on your comfy bed" he was talking to himself, hoping it was loud enough to disturb namjoon.
he decided to turn on some music, to help him stay awake, but he forgot that they played disney songs on full volume on their way to his parents and didn't turn down the volume. so when the chorus to "I'll make a man out of you" started playing throughout the car he knew that there was no way namjoon wouldn't wake up. cursing himself he quickly stopped the music, taking a quick glance to his boyfriend that was stirring in the passenger seat.
it wasnt until namjoon was looking at him until he finally say "h-hey joonie, sorry about that, I guess I forgot to turn down the volume" he let out a light chuckle. "you can go back to sleep if you want." namjoon didn't say anything, but let out a grunt and stretched in his seat, then asked jin what time it was, in which he got the answer "9:30 pm." namjoon looked at him "what? hyung, I told you to wake me up so I could drive half the way, have you seriously been driving for 3 hours straight?" jin shifted his focus back on the rode and nodded "yeah, its fine joonie, I guess all those all-nighters back in college led me to this huh?"
jin tried to brush it off, but his boyfriend didn't buy any of it. "hyung, you're tired, let me drive the rest of the way. I got some sleep, it'll be fine." jin was a stubborn person, they both knew this, so it wasn't until namjoon put his hand on jins thigh and said in a soft whisper "pull over, let me drive for a while, please" he finally listened and did what he was told. jin quickly pulled over and they switched places. after they switched, jin looked at namjoon fondly making his boyfriend ask "what's wrong?" jin just shook his head and answered "nothing, before leaning in giving namjoon a quick kiss before they were on their way home again.
